I always loved these type of stories from Superman. Billions to Trillions of years into the future yet his love for earth and humanity is still intact, even if it would seem like a glimpse of his life. This and Strange Visitor Superman always seem really memorable to me.
He had a similar story when he went to Asgard. I don't remember how many thousands of years went by and he still loved Lois and wouldn't be with another woman.
2:47 is a striking image. He's carving the diamond figurine with heat vision. But against the quote "I miss you. I love you" they're tears of crimson as he mourns his adoptive world.
This feels like it should be part of the "Strange Visitor" superman story, which deals with the same concept but on a far larger, multiversal scale. Superman, at the end of all things, is literally holding reality together by force until every living thing can pass away peacefully without fear.

I do like this story, and this depiction of Superman, quite a lot. And in 1:52 the face is so much Christopher Reeve's - and it is fitting, somehow, especially with the lines he is saying.
I love the fact that the formula for eternal life is coincidentally tastes like grape. And apparently the grape flavor is such an important part of it that after 4 billion years, they still can't change the flavor

But it’s within billions of years into the future. By the time Humanity has probably moved on to other planets to settle down in. Just like Superman protected Earth’s children, now he’ll watch over Earth’s grandchildren. 😉

I'm not a Superman fan at all, in fact I can quite honestly say I hate the Big Blue Boy-Scout. But this was a well-written and damn depressing finish... I love it. Throughout this video it kept giving me the same vibes as the Hulk's comic THE END
To be honest Superman should have looked like the Superman from the Batman: Beyond Animated Series, to show that within a Billion Years Superman has indeed aged a bit.
Was wondering why Clark didn't move the Earth himself. This story just goes to show it was the Kents, not his powers, that make Clark a hero. It's when Clark loses his humanity that he turbs villain.
