@@ClactonCuun The Chagos islands are a strategic radar base for UK and US navies to maintain world peace patrolling the Indian Ocean. They aren't being mined for minerals or other destructive purposes the Chinese want them for. They aren't even near Mauritius or belong to them. As they are so small and isolated, they can't support a civilian population either.

She demanded a higher salary than Starmer to be his Chief Adviser while saying other advisers should take pay cuts. She has battled with Irish born adviser McSweeney who formed a think tank with MP Reed to oust Corbyn & keep MPs opposed to him to stay until they replaced him & is now taking her position. Gray has been given a position of Envoy, but it is unclear whether the salary of both has changed. A Machiavellian fight for power to influence an incompetent leader with absolutely no political instinct. The sooner Labour crashes the better, but I hope the country is not too injured as it goes into full self destruction. NB McSweeney came to Britain aged 17 to work as a labourer before taking a degree in politics & worming his way into the Labour Party with the help of the sly Peter Mandelson. Anonymous sources are generally advisers involved in damaging the opposition or trying to cover blunders, yet Starmer a former Barrister is unable to justify his actions & asks people to wait for the revelation of new broken promises. Labour has burnt it's working class affiliations & aligned itself with bourgeois champagne socialists - in short hypocrites.
