Araab got me into finger drumming back in 2011. Been on this journey since. I stray away every now and then but I realize how happy I really am just jamming out on the pads. He changed my life.
👏🏾It always feels refreshing watching AraabMuzik get busy till this day. He paved the way for a lot of us cats like myself, J Black, Trizzy, JT and ect. He’ll forever be king and MVP of the MPC when it comes to this finger drumming ish

If you go by watching what all the Producers are capable of doing inside the Studio you’re gonna go insane. But without a doubt AraabMUZIK is a BEAST though.
When I first seen him on the MPC I questioned alot of my life choices and almost sold my entire studio production equipment lol bro it’s not fair how good he is.
I like being around producers and beat makers who are better than me, especially if there are willing to teach you some things , just makes me want to work harder !
Most people don’t know he is a real pianist since he was 7-8 years old, that’s why he has the ability to move like that. Drums can get you the rhythm but not the moves.
Damn...Makes sense. But disagree with the last sentence. Why would it not work the other way round. They both require coordination and agility🤔? The rhythm but not the moves? What does that even mean?
In the 90’s i was infamous in my hood for playin pads on boss202, and then 2000xl, but unfortunately after “upgrading” to daws in 2000’s i kinda lost that whole touch and even way of vibing with the samples n all on the pads, dont get me wrong i can still make boom bap “sound” authentic, but i def miss that feeling of catching that pocket on the pads with that perfect sample i pulled out of a crate of records from thrift store lol, but i just dont have luxury of affording a second workflow for “sport” these days, and the trade off to daw advantages was worth it to me in evolution as producer i guess, but in 90’s, when we made beats that way out of “necessity”, it sure was something special, n watching this cat def takes me back🔥

I use machine as a midi controler inside fl studio (yes i know you can use machine fully inside any daw) but i like using it as a midi with my custom drums loaded in and play out my drums.

Great 👍🏾 video Ave. in addition to AraabMuzik and J Black, don’t forget about the dude David “Fingers” Haynes. I first saw him rock them pads about Twelve years ago. He may be one of the pioneers of finger drumming if I’m not mistaken.
When someone that's nasty making beats makes a beat in front of me I go back to being a fan, takes me back to the early 90s to around 2008 before I started making beats. It's an incredible feeling.
Araab skills are monstrous, it makes sense that he is also a drummer. His internal metronome is mind blowing, definitely “No Quantize” gang for real. I also enjoy Beats by J Black. To be honest I don’t know many finger drummers other than these two. Ave would you consider doing a video on your list of finger drummers? Thanks for sharing. 1
Araab was like the first person i can remember killing it on the finger drumming. sceptics could no longer deny that the mpc was a legit "instrument"... my hands were always too clumsy to excel at finger drumming i just do the best that i can 😀
I remember back when he first came out. I had a MPC 5000 but he had the 2500 …When I tell you he was going so crazy on that 2500 it literally made me want to go buy a 2500 😂😂. But I actually seen Arab play a drum set..which you mentioned
I was a hugeeeee dipset fan back in high school and thats how I first got introduced to Araab.. when someone from dipset dropped an album I would buy it, go to the production credits and find which songs araab produced and listen to those tracks first lol.. I always knew this dude was special and would eventually blow up.. such a legend
i think he's the only finger drummer i've seen, who does hip-hop, and can hit 32nd notes bro. (rolls/stutters, sustained over multiple bars) it's insane. i have slowed down his audio and listened. sounds like a computer 😂 one of his skils is endurance and keeping timing, over time, without fatigue which messes up your timing, esp. the faster you go. keeping a beat is prime talent of a str8 guru. since jazz days, the real masters of timing.
I’ve also never seen someone on the mpc killin beats and drums that fast I was amazed at one of his videos and afterwards I couldn’t stop watching him through the process of his music making
I went to a edm n 2013/2014 ish , araabmuzik had a hour dj set right before the headliner, he did this for an hour straight, the crowd went soo crazy that by the time the headliner came on people were tired and started leaving early , bro is a monster
I’m disabled so I can only finger drum one handed but I think it’s so important it’s been the one thing that’s made my skill set as a producer go up the most
Araab is not producing in these videos He is mostly just play stuff that's already been made so all He really needs to focus on is drum sequencing with his hands, it's all by muscle memory because He has done it so many times.
@@AveMcreeAraab is able to play fast like that because of practice and doing the same actions tens of thousands of times, same as Pianists, Beat boxer, Rapper or any other speed skill.
David "Fingers" Haynes. Just beastly. Super musical--his dynamics and touch separate him from most of the pure hip hop finger drummers. He can actually replace an acoustic drummer. City the Beatmaster is crazy wit it too.

I definitely want to learn finger drumming...and yes Araab is a beast...off topic but can you do a vid on Dj Battlecat he played drums also...that Cali is active production vid is crazy!!!
The deal with somebody cooking with me I actually love it because they teach me something new and they always hear something you don’t hear or the thing that’s missing in a beat.
MVP of the MPC. Legend. I came up around live musicians and he plays that as an instrument. Like one of thr great drummers of an era. He was in my studio a couple times and cooked up so effortlessly and got a crazy ear for choppin samples.

His finger drumming is unmatched and phenomenal when watching it …..but if you heard the beat without the visuals you would be like WTF IS THIS

He is outrageous and he's been doing this for so many years. Seen him a few times, most memorable was Coachella 2017
