Thatching methods have changed considerably today.
His thatching would not be acceptable by today's standards.
Though I do like the agricultural rick style thatching.

Perfectly acceptable if you charge a third of the cost, explained why you are not putting a 12 to 14 inch coat on and also why it is a bit scruffy and had set lines..
Like I say thatching has changed..
