LYRICS: How many lives would we have to live Before we escape the hands of time, that stole our best years Where the decades might breathe a little less of the night Let’s step bravely out into the city lights tonight Sweet blood is coursing through our veins Darkness it pulls so tight around us Antidotes to all our years of pain
I was listening to this song last summer durin a metal festival. I was standin between two friends. Some days before I discovered my cancer and they still didn't know. I just enjoyed this song with all its energy. Btw after 5 months things are going very well.
Sea Of Tranquility sent me here. They did a podcast episode of best lead singers ever and one of them picked A.A. Nemtheanga as one of his all time favorite lead singers ever. I have never heard of this band before this episode, and I have been a huge Heavy Metal fan for over thirty five years. I am a sucker for amazing lead vocals and amazing Heavy Metal music. I will give any band a listen at least once. I gave this song two listens and I loved it big time!!!! The music and the singing gave me major goosebumps!!! I am definitely going to check out more songs from this band!!!!
Unfortunately, I'll never get to see Primordial live. So, watching them preparing for the stage to this great song gives me elevation. I had discovered Alan Averill through Void of Silence, I believe that his voice is magic. And then Primordial, of course. Definitely more than just a folk/black metal band for me. In short, Primordial is one of the best things happened to me. Thank you, gentlemen. Hail Ireland!
I listened for the first time Pimordial in Tolmin and i can't stop. They are perfect. I cried when i listen this song. Stolen years - great sound, great guitar and vocal. Great done. The best band on Metaldays.
i can proudly say that Primordial was my first metal band. most people start with the big ones like metallica. which is great but i came to metal at the age of 13 when i bought a german metal magazine after school which came with a CD of the rock hard festival. i sat on the train on my way home checking out the CD on my discman and i heard " coffin ships" that was the moment. :)
When they played this at redemption fest Saturday night in Dublin I almost cried it was so beautiful and amazing filled with so much emotion Hail Primordial.
This is definitly the most beautiful song from Primordial ever... that guitar harmonies, emotions and melancholy! sheer beauty! thank you for this one.
Naaaah man.. I'd agree, but Coffin Ships... definitely one of the best song ever made, everything is perfect about this song . This one so powerful tho...
This band could be on every metal magazine cover and on every college radio playlist, and I would still say they were underrated. Along with Enslaved, they are the most unique voice in metal (since Opeth decided not to play metal anymore).
Aha, another Primordial album. Splendid. No doubt worth a pre-purchase. With the exception of Nameless Dead, Primordial albums rarely hit me on the first listen. There's always one track however that acts as a door to the rest of the album and it pretty much unfolds from there. I look forward to seeing which it will be this time.
This is seriously good... nice video as well! @1:38 best video shot @2:44 best musical part.. kinda reminds me a bit of solstafir (the idea of the riff with the easy and smooth drumming)
Just get notification Primordial will come at Bucovina Rock Castle (România) and we are so excited,I really join your music and I really want to see you guys on the stage
Savage track. Ive listened to this about ten times and its a grower. Really digging it and im glad they took a chance and released something risky as a first listn. Roll on march!
A chilled Lizzyesque vibe. Most tranquil. Clean vocal stylings remind me of someone, not sure who. Listened to it four times so far. Digging it. Looking forward to album.
I hear some Peter Murphy and Richard Thompson influence here. I love Primordial's old black metal stuff, but this slow progression towards what they are now has been amazing to see and hear!
I was afraid cause I always except Primordial to be over the top. But I have to say that this song is really good and a bit different from what they've already done, and I really hope they'll manage to do sthing different with this album, cuz I think they're going round and round at the end of the day..
Oh but it's not black metal, I thought they were black metal blah blah blah. Primordial touch me spiritually like no other band. Always have and always will be the heathen brethren from just across the water 🏴
A different approach for sure. Alan's voice can be the soundtrack to anything to be honest. Even though I am not feeling this song as much as theirs previous albums it sure is a grower.

I played this song on the way home from the hospital when my dad died. Hits me every time.
There is so much pain behind this song; pain that a lot of us collectively feel. Thank you, Primordial.
Beautiful, touching, strong, catching, deep...by other words: Primordial.

Primordial is one of the greatest metal bands of all times.
No doubt about it.
This song feels so much longer than what is. An absolute epic jam.
This one makes me cry EVERY SINGLE TIME. Primordial forever!
When they played this at redemption fest Saturday night in Dublin I almost cried it was so beautiful and amazing filled with so much emotion Hail Primordial.
That riff is gorgeous

And Wield Lightning to Split the Sun, I don't understand why it isn't in the setlist by default...
this was the first time in my life, that tears ran down my face, when they played this live in Basel 2018 Thx Primordial for your great music!

Brad Carter that last statement made me sad
I never really liked or understood Opeth, or watever.. Im so glad Primordial are still here, though, no matter what against odds!
the goosebumps are uncanny.
While indeed simple, this is one of the most beautiful songs recorded by the band. The new album is incredible.
true sorrow and melancholy this song is
Primordial never ever fail to amaze me in all the years I have been listening to them this is an amazing song.

WOW. The guitar riff is insane.
Savage track. Ive listened to this about ten times and its a grower. Really digging it and im glad they took a chance and released something risky as a first listn. Roll on march!
So good, happy to come back to primordial after a while.
"if it was easy, we'd be a power metal band, right?" Nemtheanga throwing some fucking SHADE right there
Cant wait to listen the album.
Primordial makes masterpieces.
I'm now a fan. What a song!! (When friends make great band recommendations)
Love this, primordial somehow manged to surpass my expectations with something very different. Reminds me of Gallows Hymn and Cities Carved in Stone.
That's a powerful opener. Gives me high hopes for the album.
This song makes me want to drink like there is no tomorrow.
The Legends is back
