The newer ones specify 50:1 The one I bought said 50:1 I doubt there was any actual design change, though. Funny thing is, the mixer bottle that came with mine was marked for 25:1....
This unit is not meant to cut and remove tree roots. It is meant to remove soil and provide a 7 inch diameter hole. You are surrounded by trees . The roots are visible at the top of the hole in the video but you neglected to mention that the roots ( not stumps ) you encountered interfered with the normally smooth operation and consistent earth removal that you would experience when auguring holes in relatively root free soil. A digging bar should have been used to cut the roots.
I just bought one the other day , i like it ' you have to load up the auger flukes then stop pull it up and spin the dirt off I used to drill 24 inch holes for sonitubes with a bobcat auger attachment and thats what i learned many years ago ,
If you're digging through rocks and tree stumps, you're going to have a problem regardless of the tool you buy. The larger machines will just yank your arms off. A friend modified his to fit into arms attached to his truck's trailer hitch. It's rock steady and he just sits back to watch it dig using it's own weight. It's a bit slow, but easy and clean.
Goash i thought you said you read the manual there you dont have it after you prime it move the choke move the switch to run on a then pull the throttle trigger all the way open and release then pull it after it starts move the choke slowly off and let warm up also when you pull it the cord hold one of the auger bar handles...come on man
Please forgive me for taking the liberty and boldness. After watching this video, I have found a lot of embarrassment based on my research and production in the ground drill machine industry for more than 11 years. If you believe, we can privately mail .
you need to get someone to help you with that machine it is a 2 person auger. each handle needs 2 hands on it if it is running fast and hangs on a root you are going for a ride
William Lewis That is a nice warning. It is important to use great care. I though am a 62 year old woman, 5’4”” and average size. I have no problem using this alone. I manage quite fine. I have tough ground and I haven’t been thrown yet.
That 25:1 oil mixture makes it Yikes... lots of greasy smoke. Hope you all wear masks when you operate this thing or else, you will be inhaling oil into your lungs
Finally a decent review of this thing. Thank you!

Thanks for sharing, i've been looking to get one similar to this.
You might want to check the gear oil, I think they ship these units dry.

Thanks for the video. I think it could have been edited to be 10 minutes long.

DON'T EVER try and start this machine with the throttle engaged.
I have no idea what this guy is talking about.
That's why your engine smoking too much 2 cycle oil mixture ,they changed it to 50 1 ratio. Mix 2.5 ounces of 2.cycle oil to 1 gallon of gas.
Price of the machine? Plz
Butchi Babu they regularly run about $215, but wait on sale. You can pick it up for around $180

I wonder if HF has attachments for mixing cement with this unit
I don't believe so, but you may know someone who could weld one up for you with paddles.
@@rvstateofmind5217 good idea
Some folks just shouldnt be allowed to operate machinery, let alone review machinery. lol

That is a one person auger. A two person auger has 4 strait handles, two on each side.

A little to old and fragile for that auger my friend. I was in fear for you.
You vid convinces me that this unit cannot handle tough soil
It convinced me that the reviewer could not handle the auger!
the reason you buy one of these is to get rid of post hole diggers. My bc & bs out of pocket is 3k. I can get a lot of holes dug for that
There is a way to minimize the hf, and save time too, if you start with a clean ds (or tg) and then dig as you normally would.
He is either fighting tree roots or red clay, I would rather fight tree roots, at least they will give up eventually!
