Well because it made with emotion and passion you feel the anger the confusion sadness and excitement in each song some focusing heavily on just one of those emotion to make you feel like your the main character and being badass or the devastation or anger and your mind sets you those experiences as if you were in there shoes wich makes it my favorite anime and show and having my favorite soundtrack wich is season two of aot. I found Ymir a very weird person in the beginning but now in Season 4, I just realized Ymir is probably the kindest person. She loves people on the island but also pities warriors like Reiner. That is why she kept saving both sides, and willingly sacrificed herself...sad
Ik , first she was turned to titan bec she want to save other , then she decided to live for only herself but then again . Ymir die for bertholdt's and reiner's sake . She was the kindest . She saw historia just like her , she wants historia to live happily with her bec she think inside wall there is coming danger . Like marley was planing to declare a war . She wants her to live in marley at least live .
Truthfully, Ymir is a brutally honest but selfless character. I love her so much. RIP

@@shinko9339 I loved Annie's story. SPOILER ❗ PRETTY MINOR. she just wanted to see her dad, she wanted to be loved and he was the only one that really truly loved her. When she gets back to paradis she finally meets her dad again and the look of shock and relief on both their faces is definitely one to remember. They finally got to hug eachother and see eachother again that it made me cry bc I also long for my father's love and ik he loves me but just doesnt show it.

Ymir was one of those characters that was in the background and you never expected to have character development. jut one of those side characters whos just there and that's it. I never would of expected for her story to become this and it's amazing

@The Professor because it wasn’t meant for her. She just happens to eat the jaw titan. In Marley the shifters are chosen based in their abilities and characteristics. It goes into more detail in the manga
@The Professor I think some of it has to do with training, Ymir probably never used her jaw Titan except when fighting at the tower, fighting with Bert and Reiner and probably the time she saved Daz with christa ( and maybe when she was getting to the wall) she most likely used her Titan less than 5 times in her whole life while other jaw titans have been thoroughly trained by Marley solely to be Titan shifters and use their Titan in the best way possible. Even Eren who has the attack Titan was pretty weak in the beginning, unable to shift properly, lost control etc... for someone who hardly used her Titan form like Ymir, she was actually pretty strong in that context
This song is for both Ymirs. I won’t be surprised if the song pops up again in season 4.

I had a lot of emotional roller coasters with Ymir. But in the end, I understood her, and I couldn't bring myself to hate her.

She didn't do it for her. She did it for herself. Which in turn, was for her. She was an outcast due to her name. She had a very tragic story. No wonder she's so cold. But to have something to fight for again, to die for. To be given a second chance at life, to live as she wants. I think that's the difference.
I never understood her to be honest. I know her story, but still don't understand why she went back with Reiner and Berthold. I don't understand how she can sympathize with mass murderers.

And she couldnt turn her back on them after bert basically said he and reiner deserve death or torture.
Which is why i think ymir no matter how much she may deny it is deeply caring person.
I understand her, she is struggling between being herself and helping others, because no matter how much she fights she cant help it but help others, especially those who hate themselves much like historia which is shes so attached to her.
Remember when she said that the lie she hates herself for was that others needed her, and that from now on shell live only for herself, despite the flashbacks showing us her giving money to a begger with a conflicted face? Or when she felt sorry for historia when she overheard the priests? Why do you think she joined the military in the first place?
I think one of the major themes of SNK is the importence of understanding others, and this reoccurs several times in the series, even bert when he breaks down he simply asks from his friends to understand him and the other warriors, he didnt even want forgivness or even try to victimize himself.

I like AoT because in this, love means protect something or someone. But I never thought how far an anime character could touch my soul and give me this goosebumps, until Ymir. I mean, can u imagine how harsh is let someone you love to the point of giving your own life? I'm not saying this doesn't happen in other animes bt there's a little (huge) difference between risk your life and grant it freely.
Even when if Ymir's core was too kind, even feeling guilty, understanding and hearing the suffer of Bert and Reiner, I think it's not enough to drop your soulmate, just for help friends. There was something more on that. So, when I remember the initial idea of love, I could understand Ymir's decision bc when she realized there was hope inside walls, she just want to protect Historia's life putting her on the winning side and no matter who wins if she let her with Paradis people and going on with Marleyans (with Reiner's promise to take care of Historia) , gives her two chances to survive in both sides.
I think Historia didn't understand the way Ymir loves her bc when she reads her letter and Ymir's says she only regret no marry with her, she cries and say that she doesn't understand (the Ymir's reason to get away), bc Historia believe that love is stay. And all of us knows that, in AoT world, love means sacrifice.

This is how a well-done anime transposition can surpass by far the original manga. Ymir was not such a powerful character in the manga, for me at least, until I saw #AttackonTitan season 2 anime... the soundtrack, it's amazing. It's so meaningful, it truly explores the concept of a reborn Titan. A fallen one, a rebirth: a second chance. Wonderful, truly amazing.

she had to kill her own lover to stop causing chaos. And Eren was blinded to think that what he was doing was to achieve "Freedom" and Mikasa just wanted to live a peaceful life with him. But, that never happened and I the end, she had to kill him.

And I hate Armin's opinion for not telling Mikasa what they talked about in Ymir's realm... I enjoyed this show and I would recommend it for everyone. Amazing story and character development. But... Ending is just rushed. It could end differently, but Isayama wanted it this way. I respect it in any way. He did amazing job.

Truly one of the most tragic characters written and is such a martyr in every sense.
Imagine, she was pretty much abducted and given a new life without consent as she was young when "adopted" being forced into a cult. Children are impressionable.
Imagine after being a titan for 60 years and you have no idea where to run to get to paradise or to turn back towards Marley. She moves forward. I cannot imagine how traumatizing it must've been for Ymir to assume titan form to make it to her destination. Also, Pieck required crutches for being in titan form for 2 months straight. Ymir spent 60 YEARS IN TITAN FORM and the jaw titan are quadrapreds just like the cart titan. I really wonder how she pulled it off...
Fast forward, she lends her strength and love to Historia, so much that she played the martyr which resulted in placing Historia ahead of her to make it to the top 10 cadets.
Everything she does, everything about her is an act benevolence yet she meets everyone with brute honesty. She's a martyr.
I don't care what they say, she is a Goddess to me.

I got that feeling from Eren bro, to be free and explore the world we are born into. Basically earth is the walls(in attack of titan) for us. And space is the outside of the walls that we are so desperately to travel and to explore. Attack of titan does a really good job at pointing out how small we humans actually are and think about the world

The story of attack on titan is one of the few stories that can elicit a spectrum of emotions from happiness to anger and sadness, and as if that wasn’t enough somewhere along this journey you begin to realize that it has many parallels to life, not just in the emotional sense, but historically as well (the demonization of Judaism in nazi Germany). Paired with an immaculate sound track and a variety of well written characters this anime will forever be one of the greatest stories ever written
