Is there some technology out there that could take the parts of Chris Potter's solos which were accidentally left virtually inaudible from the sound desk and make them the level they were meant to sound? And if so, can someone please do it? I'll pay you monies. All the monies.
1) Dave Holland!! 2) What a bunch of GREAT f'ing musicians. 3) 11:00 two horn players improvising together -- YAY!! I am SO tired of SOLOS, want to hear musicians improvising together more, driving each other to new places -- back to the Dixieland or free jazz thing -- or the Grateful Dead on a good night, or Col. Bruce's various bands (Aquarium Rescue Unit, in the 90s or here recently -- wow!), or forward to stuff like Lettuce, Soulive, The Nth Power, Dead and Company, Robert Plant's various recent bands, or Tedeschi Trucks Band, where a lot of the time EVERYONE is improvising at once, taking the songs to unpredictable places. Hearing the same song repeatedly, and never hearing the same thing twice! Don't care if it's jazz, blues or soul, or even bluegrass or rockabilly -- I just want to hear the CREATIVE PROCESS IN MOTION at its highest level !!! 4) Looks like Dave is the only one without any sheet music ... haha. 5) NO COMPLAINTS -- what a great upload!!
ambassadorportal Dude, I saw them play in Oakland about 10 years ago and at one point everyone in the band was soloing together, and in odd time too! I think it was 11. But holy hell it blew my mind! I’ll never forgot it. A very transcending experience (and all I had was a little sake, I swear!).
It never ceases to amaze me. The quality of music accessible for free? You have no excuse when it comes to broadening your musical horizons!?!?
So good. Drummer is making me want to practice for the rest of my life.

Upvote for the mention of ARU & Col. Bruce Hampton. Every show a revelation.
