FYI: Arjen Lucassen - Composer - Dutch singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist musician and record producer best known for his long-running progressive metal/rock opera project Ayreon. SINGERS: James Labrie - Lead singer for Dream Theatre. Tommy Karevik - Lead singer of Kamelot and Seventh Wonder. Tommy Rodgers - Lead singer of Between the Buried and Me. Simone Simons - Lead singer of Epica. Nils K. Rue - Lead singer of Pagan's Mind and also worked with Eidolon. Tobias Sammet - Lead singer of Edguy & Avantasia. Hansi Kürsch - Lead singer of Blind Guardian and Demons & Wizards. Mike Mills - Multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and main songwriter for Toehider. Russell Allen - Lead singer of Symphony X (Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Allen/Lande). Michael Eriksen - Lead singer of Circus Maximus. Floor Jansen - Lead singer of After Forever, ReVamp & now Nightwish. INSTRUMENTALISTS: Joost van den Broek (ex-After Forever) - grand piano and electric piano, Maaike Peterse (Kingfisher Sky) - cello, Ed Warby - (Gorefest) drums, Ben Mathot - violin, Jeroen Goossens (ex-Pater Moeskroen) - flute and wind instruments, Arjen Anthony Lucassen - electric and acoustic guitars, all other instruments

Finally, someone can recognize the singers that he has recently seen and heard... Not like most people repeat: "Oh, I've never seen or heard of it" and the day before he uploaded a video with a reaction to this singer... Shame of them! I like your videos Jen, professional, warm and relaxed approach. Plus some comic 🤣🤣 I laugh along with you 🤣 I recommend you the video: Blind Guardian (Hansi Kurch), live from Wacken Festval - Bard Song + Valhalla. A master performance & a master crowd. You will like it 100%
@@JenniferGlatzhofer I think, you will have much fun, because all singers, who worked with him are full of happiness that they did it with him. He is also a master in integration all singers and musicians to his projects and bring out the best of them...
Thanks for this. Been hoping for it since Everybody Dies and you did not disappoint. Anyone can get a bunch of singers in a room and put something together but Arjen takes this to another level. The best example I can think of of collaboration on an Olympic level. Also an engineering masterpiece. Glad you got a variety of voices on which to comment. Thanks again.
@@JenniferGlatzhofer love your reaction to videos, the joy of music and vocals is clearly evident in your actions and beautiful smile, so much fun. ❤ from 🇨🇦
Thank for checking it out, I knew you would love this. Yes, Tommy Karevik was in Everybody Dies, as well as Hansi Kursch, Mike Mills, and Floor. As well as all the musicians seen here, except Arjen. Mike is singing binary because his character is a machine. It translates to Trust TH-1. TH for his band Toehider. Another commenter gave you a list of the singers, can't go wrong checking out any of their own bands. This is the first song on 'The Source' album, which is chronologically the beginning of the story arc across multiple albums. Although they were not made in story order.
Love this project by Arjen and this song. As always you've done a fantastic job and watching you with your excitement and humor makes my day. Keep it up Jenn. Oh, you really should check out some of these singers with their own groups that they are a part of and hear them in their own element.
If you do end up with a copyright problem on an Ayreon reaction sent Arjen an email. He likes reaction videos and can usually get it cleared by the record company. Also keep close eye on your comments as he is known to pop in occasionally.
This was th intro for me, a gateway into a world of music and arttist i would have never found out about With Ayreon comes Star One as well ( bit more hardrock-ish and based on scifi movies), also a project from Arjen The Gentle Storm and The Guilt Machine are by his hand as well ( Magical)
I found him almost 2 decades ago and love this track. This track has helped find more Ayreon fans which is great! Can't wait to go to Netherlands in September!
I still find it amazing that one person can compose a song with 11 different singers in it and still have it seem seamless and make sense, without sounding like it was forced. plus no egos at all not one singer feels the need to standout.
Oh ooh, here's another rabbit hole for you to jump in to, Jen - Lucassen (perhaps the tallest guitar player on Earth (nearly two meters tall)), has written and produced a slew of albums, which are all conceptual. Personally I have a soft spot for Into The Electric Castle (1998), which is an Ayreon album, featuring among other vocalists Anneke van Giersbergen (The Gathering) and Fish (ex-Marillion front man). Enjoy!!! ...
I have watched at least 100 reactions to this video, and you are the ONLY reactor who commented about James LaBrie's part where the vocal note pitch ascends as he sings the word "descends". I noticed that on my first listening and thought it was so cool. I wondered why nobody else was noticing it. Great reaction Jennifer. I enjoyed it!
ปีที่แล้ว +5
Then you need to check out Doug Helverigs reaction. He even names the Eb-Em change based on his relative pitch 😊
Now you should check out Avantasia, which is Tobias Sammet's project that Arjun mentioned in the video. I recommend "The Scarecrow", preferably the live version from the Flying Opera show.
Yeah, you mentioned that Tobias sounded theatrical, and like Ayreon Avantasia is more in the musical theatre tradition, focused on telling stories through good music and featuring many guest vocalists. I'm not so familiar (I've mainly listened to the latest album so far) so I'm happy to give thumbs up to someone who can pick good examples!
Winderful, this is such a masterpiece and here you will find many excellent singers. Also you will meet the master Arjen Lucassen himself in this video on guitar, bass and keyboards. I hope you will go on with your Ayreon journey. And also give the second project from Arjen Lucassen a little chance. It is called Star One. Perhaps with the wonderful song Fate of the Man with a very good female vocalist...
When I saw the "I freaking knew it!" clip at the beginning, I knew that had to be when Floor came in! 😂 This project, and yes, this video, is absolutely amazing. I've watched it many times, but it never gets old watching it again with someone such as yourself. Your enthusiasm and excellent analysis was a joy to watch. Thanks!
Great reaction and analysis as usual. As to the next one I think that pretty much anything from the Ayreon Universe concert is a winner. One of my personal favourites is "Intergalactic Space Crusaders". This has Maggy (the first lead female vocalist in Everybody Dies) having far too much fun sparring with Damian Wilson. The song is based on a 70's British Sci-Fi series "Blake's Seven". The "Eye of Ra" is also quite something, but as it is the finale of the show, I think it is nice to have seen a lot of what precedes it first. Also worth a mention is "Day Eleven: Love" as I know you like things with a Musical Theatre vibe.
I really need to thank you! I find music such an important thing to me and yet it seems like pure magic. Listening to your explanation as to what the artists are doing to write and perform it is fascinating.
This is a true Masterpiece! Excellent casting of singers, and then there's Floor 💗👸. The genius behind all of this is "The Tall Hippie Dude", Arjen Anthony Lucassen, the tallest known rock musician (203 cm). ⛄❄👍
A nice humble Dutchman creating wonderful projects by the name of Ayreon, Star One and recently Supersonic Revolution. Should be reacted more by many reactors outside of the Netherlands. Doing projects many (great and familiair) artists will gladly participate in and when Arjen calls you checking his stack of rolodexes (😂), you just can't say .... no thanks.
I love how many professionals are discovering how the arguably most maligned genre of music seems to be the most densely packed with seemingly less well know true professionals and how a large amount of accomplished metal vocalist and musicians have a seemingly greater command or at least use a greater range of their voice and instrument. Also seemingly the metal folk are extremely versatile. Almost as if it is easier to transition from a metal line to a classical than from a pop style into a metal. ;)
FYI when you react to Arjen's music, you don't have to worry about copyright. Arjen is known to contact YT whenever he is told someone's blocked on copyright grounds and have the block removed. He appreciates the exposure.
Yeah, him and Napalm Records (the label Jinjer and Unleash The Archers are on) take the same approach to reaction videos: “Reaction video? I think you mean, free advertising. Unblock it.”
Well Done. It is unique, Arjen is a genius. He knows what his musicians and singers are capable of, and gets the best out of them as well as writing the perfect music for their abilities. What next? Anything from Ayreon Universe Live is brilliant. For Fun - 'Intergalactic Space Crusader's', Ayreon Universe, or for Storyline - 'Star of Sirrah', also Ayreon Universe Live. I also love the 'The Castle Hall' from Ayreon Universe.
Michael Mills is voicing the evil computer TH-1 (TH. . . . . .Toehider. . . . . . ?) it's extended ASCII and says "Trust TH 1" but without gaps or capitals of course.
The song is not a Ayreon but a Star One song...there is a difference in style Star One - Fate of Man (Brittney Slayes, Michael Romeo) th-cam.com/video/vn7P3oVMnys/w-d-xo.html
Beyond brilliant. Ayreon - Intergalactic Space Crusaders is so much fun (not as complicated but wow let's say there's a female Belgian singer in it who could scream the moon down to Earth)
I love seeing reactions to Ayreon! Arjen’s projects deserve so much more recognition!😎🤘🏼If you haven’t already, you would LOVE Ayreon’s live performance of Twister Coil, featuring the talented Damian Wilson as the singer!🙏🏼
Love that you did not get overwhelmed by all the vocal genius going on here, and did not miss commenting on any vocal trick or tool or technique. There's SO much here to dissect, though frankly I think Tommy and Michael steal the show, they're stealing it from a dozen others who also steal it in their own parts. I had to look up every single band these vocalists are from and subscribe to them all. And the musicianship is beyond compare.
I can't believe that I've watched your reaction to "Evertbody Dies" yesterday for the first time and was looking for this reaction today, when it was uploaded 2 hours ago. Lovely reaction to an amazing band! You should also react to Tobias Sammet's Avantasia (which is also an amazing metal project) and Tommy Karevik's Kamelot or Seventh Wonder. Much success in your videos and thank you for bringing this to Ayreon fans"
In a song with nearly endless high end lead singing talent, Tommy Karevik always catches the reactors with his soaring part. Please do check him out in Kamelot!
nice poster behind you!! (my favorite country) 😉🤘 The cool thing about Ayreon is that all the albums sort of tie into the same story. 'The Source' (the album which this song is from) is technically the start of the story. It's about a race of humans that give control of their planet to a computer (the 'frame) to help solve an environmental catastrophe, but the computer determines that the best course of action is to eliminate the humans. Ten humans and the robot TH-1 escape the planet on the only interstellar ship they have (the 'Starblade') along with the ships crew and head to an ocean planet. The chemist creates a drug ('The Source', aka 'Liquid Eternity') that allows them to evolve into an 'aquatic race'. The drug also makes them basically immortal and allows them to communicate telepathically. The album ends with the survivors (ten plus the ships small crew) living on their new planet ('Planet Y') in relative peace, but in the final track we learn that TH-1 is becoming a new version of the 'frame deep in the ocean. The next album in the timeline, 01011001 ('Y') tells us how machines have now taken over this new planet, and the humans have basically merged with the machines are losing their emotions and sense of time. They now call themselves 'The Forever', since they are essentially ageless drones at this point. We also learn about how they seeded a comet with DNA and sent it to Earth, where it creates human life on our planet. The Forever believe they can live through us telepathically and that they may regain their emotions by doing so. Some of The Forever believe that we need to advance more quickly, and use their telepathy to give us medicine/technology, but this results in us advancing quicker than our morality can cope with. Eventually The Forever realize humanity is doomed and has to decide if they will give them the technology to reverse their past mistakes. Somewhere in the timeline sits the album 'The Electric Castle'From a summary by Arjen: "At the end of the journey those that successfully dealt with their personal demons find out that the voice belongs to an alien named 'Forever of the Stars', a member of an alien race living in a distant galaxy. These aliens created planet Earth and its people as an experiment so they could study, and hopefully one day experience emotions, as they themselves lost feelings eons ago." That's only three albums (less than half!) but I believe those three give you a solid foundation for how the story plays out. Also, I highly recommend any of the Electric Castle Live videos; They are just so fun to watch, plus John de Lancie ('Q' from Star Trek) plays the 'Forever of the Stars' character, which Arjen said he originally based on Q.
Yeah, why is there a poster of the Netherlands behind Jen?...little pins on the birthplaces of Floor, Simone, Anneke...and where they grew up.....testing the tapwater for special vocal powers???
This song is quite the journey, glad you enjoyed it! All the singers and musicians involved are top in the scene As for Arjen, he is just pure class, love how down to earth he is, even though he is a musical genius, pretty much. He also likes to watch these reactions to his work and sometimes even comments on them. I think for next you could do more from the Ayreon Universe live show (the one with Everybody Dies). The Eye of Ra is the closer and it's quite epic.
Jenn, as a computer freak, I studied and had to write two simple programs in machine language. The first was in binary (Base 2, as we have here), and the second in Hexidecimal (Base 16). As for the 0's and 1's grouping, every 8 characters equal a letter of the alphabet, it has been so long since I ever did that stuff, I don't remember what the number sequence is for each letter. But I have guesses: Ayreon or Arjen, but I'm not holding my breath... LOL. Also, my favorite part of watching your reactions: The absolute JOY in your facial expressions, just makes my day. Keep them coming Beautiful Lady!
ปีที่แล้ว +1
I've read that the binary translates to "trust th-1". But I haven't checked myself yet.
Jennifer! Late but, as you say "to be fair" I did try to listen at lunch but it was just too long. My day was hectic. So I started over this evening when I got home from the gym. Wow, this is an amazing story. Hard to read all the story lines at the bottom but you feel compelled to! At 19:26 Michael Mills plays TH1! Do you get it now? At 21:17 the series of 1's and 0's is binary code. Converted to ASCII characters it spells out "trustTH1"! Loved the bluesy part there late. And then at 29:29 ... FLOOR!!! Oh my, definitely a surprise to me! She is just amazing. Oh, and like the drummer Jennifer, you are also "incredible and indispensable"! I mean honestly, what would this channel be without you? 😆 Absolutely an incredible reaction and analysis Jennifer. 😊
This is always a good time when one of your favorite reactors takes on this beast. I got my popcorn ready, made sure the puppers had a treat and were cozy on the bed, because I didnt want to miss a second of this !! My mom wants to know where your awesome nail polishes have gone LMAO, she watches most of your Home Free videos, or anything with Tim in it, and I think she secretly just watches to see what colors you're rocking 🙂 Magnificent job as always, thanks for this wicked treat! next Ayreon should be Valley of the Queens...TRUST me. If you happen to read this, Tommy Karevik is the lead singer for Kamelot. Check out Insomnia and then Liar Liar, back to back. The guy's a beast. Plus you get Allysa White-Gluz in Liar Liar. I will heap praises upon you if you do Liar Liar as a reaction LOL I dont think you've done EPICA Sancta Terra yet either, Simone SImons is the lead singer for them adn she is best friends with Floor Jansen, who appears on that particular track.
Great reaction! Next "Valley of the Queens" with more of Jeroen on flute? Tommy Karevik was in "Everybody's Dies" - he is the singer with Kamelot. He's really good in "Transitus" too! Another Ayreon project- with Simone Simons and Marcela Bovio and more!...... Michael Mills! Aussie!Aussie!Aussie! Oi! - Great job with the binary code lyrics, hey? Brilliant work!..... Hansi - great voice, looks like my dentist!.... I'm with Arjen about practice! I do it but I don't have to like it!.... Tall, hippy dude? Arjen is huge! Look at a pic of him with Floor! Like Floor next to Emppu!
Great reaction Jen - thanks! Is it time for Mike Mills in Toehider then? The live versions of “How do ghosts work” or “Whatever makes you feel superior” are well worth a look.
I really like the stories that come with the songs, basically like musical theatre. Everybody dies was also part of the same story as the day that the world breaks down. I'm not always a big fan of musicals, a lot of them have the kind of qualities that I'm not super into, the ballads and the speech-like songs, I guess those are kind of traditional musical theatre things, or maybe stereotypical? :) Personally I am a big fan of the live versions from the Ayreon universe concert of Eye of Ra as well as Valley of the Queens, and intergalactic space crusaders is really fun. So I guess, those are my recommendations. :)
This was outstanding. I knew you would be like a kid in a candy shop with all these amazing singers. Next Ayreon I would do the Valley of the Queens from the Universe Live show. 3 female singers (won't say who) and some incredibly beautiful harmonies that would be perfect for your detailed analysis, plus the song is just gorgeous. One that doesn't get reacted to much but with your musical theater background I think you would enjoy a lot would be Daniel’s Descent into Transitus Medley official video. th-cam.com/video/ozmTXh2CBWw/w-d-xo.html. Has Tommy Karevik, Simone Simmons as the sassy sexy Angel of Death, and Marcela Bovio and Caroline Westendorp as the Furies. Also throw in Intergalactic Space Crusader from Universe Live, Druids Turn to Stone from Universe Live, and Amazing Flight form Into the Electric Castle and Other Tales Live.
Also strongly recommend you checkout Simone Simons and her band Epica. Dutch symphonic metal band. Incredible gorgeous voice with classical training. Her and Floor have performed together on stage for each other's bands (Epica and Revamp). Sancta Terra live from Retrospect show is a good one with both of their voices. My three current favorites of Simone's is her collaboration with Apocalyptica (Finnish band that has originals and covers metal songs using cellos) Rise Again, th-cam.com/video/cEgsUUhqdlg/w-d-xo.html, a live recording of Epica's ballad Rivers live from Chile, th-cam.com/video/qcLGgfyOmZE/w-d-xo.html, and Epica's Sirens - of Blood and Water music video with Charlotte Wessels (ex Delain) and Myrkur. Last one is based on the original Little Mermaid story by Hans Christian Andersen and you would love the storytelling in it.
Floor first sang with Ayreon before she was with Nightwish. Her younger sister, Irene, is also a recurring singer on Ayreon albums as is Marcela Bovio and Anneke Van Giersbergen. Simons Simons has sang on 3 albums as well. The only British born female singer is Heather Findlay, who sang with Mostly Autumn, a folk prog band.
Arjen is a master genius of rock music ! Lot's of awesome projects like Ayreon, Star One, The Gentle Storm, Ambeon, Guilt Machine and Supersonic Revolution. ....and beware, chances are high, that he will comment on your reaction (he does that a lot !)
As a dedicated Science Fiction reader ever since I learned to read(which was early) I loved this. For some reason the way it's arranged and the language remind me of the book I'm reading now, "The Ultimate Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy". Same quirky humor. I suppose if you want to continue reacting to the project, then the next songs would be "The Source will Flow" and "Star of Sirrah". Great analysis to a complex arrangement, Jen.
I love that Arjen named Michael Mills role TH-1 after his 'band' Toehider. (I always feel weird calling it a band when all the music is just the one person.😅)
Great reaction. This song also was my introduction into this amazing project. You can't go wrong with any of the live videos. I would also recommend Into the black Hole feat. Bruce Dickinson, Dawn of a Million Souls or Lost Children of the Universe (this one by Star One).
You should check out the live version of "Ayreon - And The Druids Turned To Stone" such a good track and such an incredible voice. Quote Arjen: "Hi all, here is the last full song preview we’ll give you from the upcoming Ayreon Universe DVD/BD. This is my own personal favorite: And The Druids Turned To Stone. Mainly because of Damian’s amazing performance, he totally owns the stage here. Despite this being a relatively quiet atmospheric track, for me this was one of the highlights of the show. Hope you agree, enjoy!"
I dont know if its mentioned in the 100-some comments below mine but a few months ago Arjen announced that Ayreon would again be performing this year in September at the same venue 'Everybody Dies' was filmed
Cant exactly reproduce, who did This Comment but it simply Fits: The Day that the World breaks down is for Vocal Nerds like an praline Box for Forest Gump. Dont know what to expect till you open it, but then so man great different Tastes:) Happy you liked that young Lady! was lovely to see your Joy on this one. STay Healthy NWA Bavaria North
Ayreon has so many colours and textures in their music. If you liked this mix of styles in one song, you should react to the song ''Isis and Osiris (Live)''. It's another great song with interesting twists, you surely like it. Nice reaction and analysis from this song, Jenn
For more Ayreon I’d suggest a couple of tracks from Into The Electric Castle Live and Other Story’s. I’d choose Garden of Emotion for a sliver of a larger story and multiple singers. For pure emotion and brilliance I’d do Twisted Coil, Damian Wilson songs on it and he is immense. He also played Jean Val Jean for a year in London, I believe ‘98-‘99 sort of time. He is a very talented singer and brings the full emotion of the tune out.
It seems like you did not recognize Simone Simons, the other female vocalist. Simone is a close friend of Floor’s and lead singer for the band Epica. An easy introduction to Epica and Simone is Sancta Terra, where she sings a duet with Floor. Another Ayreon song you can checkout, while still staying with Floor, is Valley of the Queens. You should recognize Marcela Bovio, who was the far right side backup vocalist in Everyone Dies. The other gem you get to discover is Annekke van Giersbergen, Dutch vocalist whom Floor was inspired by to be a female metal vocalist. Now we can follow Annekke to a singer from the greatest country on earth 🇨🇦, Devin Townsend. Devin and Annekke have collaborated on various different projects over the years - Ih Ah is a fun example. And further into Devin Townsend, checkout a few of his songs - Kingdom will give you a sense of his vocals, and his personality, while his performance of Deadhead at the Royal Albert Hall is just a fantastic performance.
When are you getting on the Ren Reaction Ramp? Start with 'Hi Ren' But a must for a musical theatre buff would be the Trilogy Tales Start with Jenny & Screech & finish with violets tale
Now that you've finally been introduced to Simone Simons in this video, I hope you can delve into the band she sings in, Epica. I've picked out some videos that I guess would be most interesting for a professional singer to analyse: * "Rivers", the a capella performance at their "Omega Alive" project (their pandemic project, a kind of concert without an audience): th-cam.com/video/7geGtgjyQlI/w-d-xo.html * "Chasing the Dragon", from their 10-year anniversary concert in 2013, with choir and orchestra: th-cam.com/video/Dx-FsHAQHp8/w-d-xo.html * "Tides of Time", this is their studio version and maybe the closest they have got to write a classical aria: th-cam.com/video/MFPn1lFDlyE/w-d-xo.html * If you prefer a live version of "Tides of Time", e.g. to comment on things that you must see to evaluate, then I suggest this live version: th-cam.com/video/njJx0wGZcRk/w-d-xo.html Epica is a band with a lot of breadth and variation, but these songs are all ballads. I suppose ballads give the vocalist the most room to shine.
1st time watching you channel, that was a good reaction! May I suggest a reaction from a group that has almost no reactions done of them (except for the VinAnd Sori channel, who have done a dozen or so), and the group has one of the best singers in rock/prog/metal... Pain of Salvation - Reconciliation (live acoustic video)....the video, while not great quality visual-wise, has very good audio and really shows off singer Daniel Gildenlöw's voice.
Love your videos. If you haven't, you should look into Brandi Carlile... The Joke, The Story, or Turpentine would make for great reaction videos! She's fantastic
Another band you should revisit is Lovebites if it's possible during their hiatus after bassist and founder Miho departed the band the went on leave in 2021 August till summer of 2022 when they held bass auditions and went with internet sensation Fami who already had a huge following of over 700,000 fans she has since high school produced her own music and has many covers of songs on her TH-cam page like "Alien Alien" awesome basswork on that piece. anyhow to make the long story short she is now a member of the lovebites Fami (ly) ]:) and the album they released february 22nd has already had lots of attention for 2 music videos and 2 audio tracks released ahead of the album title including the title song where Asami reaches an insane high note towards the end of the song her voice has only gotten better you can tell the band has practiced. here's links to the 2 Music Videos and both showcase Fami as she starts both songs out with the bass before bandmates join in. Well, "JW Soundworks" did (about 18min15sec) and he got a great reaction from Arjen. Search: Musical Analysis/Reaction of AYREON - The Day That The World Breaks Down
While i do enjoy this reaction in itself, i have come to realize that requesting this song to reators that have not yet experienced Nightwish, Epica, Blind Guardian, Avantasia, Dream Theater, Symphony X, and more .. is so much a waste. If they do not understand the immense grandeur of exactly who these people are and what it takes to get them all together, it is simply a waste, much like using the Mona Lisa as a beer coaster, or giving your wife Michael Jordan's autograph when she does not know the first thing about sports.
FYI: Arjen Lucassen - Composer - Dutch singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist musician and record producer best known for his long-running progressive metal/rock opera project Ayreon.

Next I would suggest reacting to the performances at Ayreon Universe concert, especially the following Intergalactic Space Crusaders, River of Time, Merlin's Will, Valley of the Queens, Ride the Comet, Star of Sirrah, And the Druids Turn to Stone, Age of Shadows & Everybody Dies.
Plus some comic 🤣🤣 I laugh along with you 🤣
I recommend you the video: Blind Guardian (Hansi Kurch), live from Wacken Festval - Bard Song + Valhalla. A master performance & a master crowd. You will like it 100%
I think Arjen should think to do an album with Jennifer, Elizabeth, Julia and others. Would be something new and epic...
😱😱
@@JenniferGlatzhofer I think, you will have much fun, because all singers, who worked with him are full of happiness that they did it with him. He is also a master in integration all singers and musicians to his projects and bring out the best of them...
I concur
Fully agree - but if they all participate, who's going to analyse it?
@@Nighteye2 Well, Elizabeth already analyzed herself...
Always glad to see your new videos!
Thank you!
Totally. 🇨🇦 👍
@@JenniferGlatzhofer love your reaction to videos, the joy of music and vocals is clearly evident in your actions and beautiful smile, so much fun. ❤ from 🇨🇦
🇨🇦 I concur
Yes! I’ll get round to it 😊 thank you!
Great as always... Please go to Eye of Ra... All the singers together... 50 people on the stage...
I concur.
I disagree actually. Going down the Ayreon rabbithole, Eye Of Ra should be last... Also, why the spoiler? 🤨
Yay! Excellent choice
If you do end up with a copyright problem on an Ayreon reaction sent Arjen an email. He likes reaction videos and can usually get it cleared by the record company. Also keep close eye on your comments as he is known to pop in occasionally.
Hi Jennifer hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤️
This was th intro for me, a gateway into a world of music and arttist i would have never found out about
With Ayreon comes Star One as well ( bit more hardrock-ish and based on scifi movies), also a project from Arjen
The Gentle Storm and The Guilt Machine are by his hand as well ( Magical)
I found him almost 2 decades ago and love this track. This track has helped find more Ayreon fans which is great!
Can't wait to go to Netherlands in September!
Also, Ambeon is also great and his project under his name. All great stuff
NWOBHM = New Wave of Brittish Heavy Metal
The Binary section sung by Michael Mills spells out Trust TH-1 (the computer/AI he plays on this record)
Enjoy!!! ...
Thank you for sharing your analysis and thoughts on this epic musical ride!
Then you need to check out Doug Helverigs reaction. He even names the Eb-Em change based on his relative pitch 😊
James Labrie is the best live singer in the world!.... I have seen him 20 times ... he is a god ..LIVE!
tomlyons2633.... I have notist it to!
Definitely second this!
Avantasia Misplaced amongs the angels feat Floor Jansen That corus 🤯💯💥
Winderful, this is such a masterpiece and here you will find many excellent singers. Also you will meet the master Arjen Lucassen himself in this video on guitar, bass and keyboards. I hope you will go on with your Ayreon journey.
And also give the second project from Arjen Lucassen a little chance. It is called Star One. Perhaps with the wonderful song Fate of the Man with a very good female vocalist...
Bring on Brittany Slayes!
I concur!
Next? Ayreon Live "Intergalactic Space Crusaders"
This will be fun very, very fun rabbit hole for you.
Enjoy
I concur
It's propably safe to say that you won't get any claims from Arjen 🙂 Love the reaction.
When I saw the "I freaking knew it!" clip at the beginning, I knew that had to be when Floor came in! 😂
This project, and yes, this video, is absolutely amazing. I've watched it many times, but it never gets old watching it again with someone such as yourself. Your enthusiasm and excellent analysis was a joy to watch. Thanks!
Hahaha oh yes 😂
Love the fact that arjen is Dutch as well. Why you all so talented
Thanks so much!
Just sayin…this is gonna be epic.
A nice humble Dutchman creating wonderful projects by the name of Ayreon, Star One and recently Supersonic Revolution. Should be reacted more by many reactors outside of the Netherlands.
Doing projects many (great and familiair) artists will gladly participate in and when Arjen calls you checking his stack of rolodexes (😂), you just can't say .... no thanks.
what about Ambeon, the Gentle Storm and Guilt Machine ?
Yeah, him and Napalm Records (the label Jinjer and Unleash The Archers are on) take the same approach to reaction videos:
“Reaction video?
Superb reaction and analysis from you 👍 🤘
Brittney Slays from Unleash the Archers does a song with Ayreon, its pretty fantastic, also UTA is pretty great in their own right.
YES! to this !! Do some ULtA
You mean Star One, I think, or did I miss an ayreon song with her?
🇨🇦
I concur on Star One "Fate of Man" or other UTA songs.
The song is not a Ayreon but a Star One song...there is a difference in style
Star One - Fate of Man (Brittney Slayes, Michael Romeo) th-cam.com/video/vn7P3oVMnys/w-d-xo.html
Ah perfect timing ahah!
Good choice 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
In a song with nearly endless high end lead singing talent, Tommy Karevik always catches the reactors with his soaring part. Please do check him out in Kamelot!
nice poster behind you!! (my favorite country) 😉🤘
The cool thing about Ayreon is that all the albums sort of tie into the same story.
Ahaha i’m actually half Dutch😁 so it’s for me
This song is quite the journey, glad you enjoyed it! All the singers and musicians involved are top in the scene
As for Arjen, he is just pure class, love how down to earth he is, even though he is a musical genius, pretty much.
Ahaha thank you! And yes, loved it at the end! 😁😁
My favorite part of these analyses of TDTTWBD is when they get to michael mills part and just STOP because holy cow, it's so good every time!
This is always a good time when one of your favorite reactors takes on this beast. I got my popcorn ready, made sure the puppers had a treat and were cozy on the bed, because I didnt want to miss a second of this !!
My mom wants to know where your awesome nail polishes have gone LMAO, she watches most of your Home Free videos, or anything with Tim in it, and I think she secretly just watches to see what colors you're rocking 🙂
Magnificent job as always, thanks for this wicked treat!
next Ayreon should be Valley of the Queens...TRUST me.
If you happen to read this, Tommy Karevik is the lead singer for Kamelot. Check out Insomnia and then Liar Liar, back to back. The guy's a beast. Plus you get Allysa White-Gluz in Liar Liar.
I will heap praises upon you if you do Liar Liar as a reaction LOL
I dont think you've done EPICA Sancta Terra yet either, Simone SImons is the lead singer for them adn she is best friends with Floor Jansen, who appears on that particular track.
You gotta check out some of the bands of the singers in this song. Kamelot, Epica, Pagans Mind, etc. Killer bands
Just do ANYTHING from Ayreon Universe. Doesn't matter which cut, they all have their own special charms...
Personally I am a big fan of the live versions from the Ayreon universe concert of Eye of Ra as well as Valley of the Queens, and intergalactic space crusaders is really fun.
Ooh thank you!! 😁
Transitus also opens with Tom Baker sounding eerily like Max von Sydow in Flash Gordon.
For your next I highly recommend "Amazing Flight in space" pref live from the electric castle.
Hansi and Tommy are just entire gems, yes.
Arjen is a musical genius !!
Lot's of awesome projects like Ayreon, Star One, The Gentle Storm, Ambeon, Guilt Machine and Supersonic Revolution. ....and beware, chances are high, that he will comment on your reaction (he does that a lot !)
the binary (all the 0 &1's) translates to Trust TH1 (the name of the AI in the story)
You should check out the live version of "Ayreon - And The Druids Turned To Stone"
such a good track and such an incredible voice.
The whole live ‘Universe’ concert is epic and worth reacting to❣️
I have a young gun silver fox album, love it !!
Oh amazing! I have a reaction up on my channel too😊 hope you can catch them live!
Cant exactly reproduce, who did This Comment but it simply Fits: The Day that the World breaks down is for Vocal Nerds like an praline Box for Forest Gump. Dont know what to expect till you open it, but then so man great different Tastes:)
Happy you liked that young Lady! was lovely to see your Joy on this one.

Ayreon has so many colours and textures in their music. If you liked this mix of styles in one song, you should react to the song ''Isis and Osiris (Live)''. It's another great song with interesting twists, you surely like it.
Nice reaction and analysis from this song, Jenn
Great memory for all the personnel you saw before in "Everybody Dies"!
Nice reaction!!
Tobias and Floor made a few songs together worth a look. Thank you amazing Analyze of Arjens projects.
Hi, if you watch closely you can say that Tommy Karevik sings with his hands in this video...
Great reaction as always! You should check Arjen's Star One too.
Honestly if u want to see what hansi can do the video of the bard song and Valhalla from waken is the best for it would definitely recommend
Agree and the the link is on discord already. Another great song for Hansi's voice would be Demons & Wizards - Fiddler On The Green live at Wacken.
just a heads up, Arjen regularly comments on reaction videos to his music, so you might see him again soon!
Nightwish army california checking in ! This is amazing.
19:30 It's feel like "Queen - The Prophet Song" vibe
When are you getting on the Ren Reaction Ramp? Start with 'Hi Ren'
But a must for a musical theatre buff would be the Trilogy Tales Start with Jenny & Screech & finish with violets tale
Now that you've finally been introduced to Simone Simons in this video, I hope you can delve into the band she sings in, Epica. I've picked out some videos that I guess would be most interesting for a professional singer to analyse:
* "Rivers", the a capella performance at their "Omega Alive" project (their pandemic project, a kind of concert without an audience): th-cam.com/video/7geGtgjyQlI/w-d-xo.html
* "Chasing the Dragon", from their 10-year anniversary concert in 2013, with choir and orchestra: th-cam.com/video/Dx-FsHAQHp8/w-d-xo.html
* "Tides of Time", this is their studio version and maybe the closest they have got to write a classical aria: th-cam.com/video/MFPn1lFDlyE/w-d-xo.html
* If you prefer a live version of "Tides of Time", e.g. to comment on things that you must see to evaluate, then I suggest this live version: th-cam.com/video/njJx0wGZcRk/w-d-xo.html
Epica is a band with a lot of breadth and variation, but these songs are all ballads. I suppose ballads give the vocalist the most room to shine.
By the Way (see what I did there…). Arjen says that he is the tallest guitar player, at 6’8”.
And someday she will get closer to current-day Aryeon performance and do "Star One"
Love your reaction! Please listen to "Misplaced Among The Angels" from Avantasia and...
If you deare.... React to Erothomania ...Dreamtheater!
It will be fun!
Just think that Arjen is able to contact these musicians and vocalists, to perform, and record parts in a musical composition.
There’s another project called Star One. Floor’s sister sings in it.
Floor and Arjen are BFF sinds Floor was 17 she and her sister Irene are always there if Arjen has a project
Love your videos. If you haven't, you should look into Brandi Carlile... The Joke, The Story, or Turpentine would make for great reaction videos! She's fantastic
The binary letters more or less say "Trust me" from the A.I.
Oohhhh!
❤

Who else out there was watching this video thinking: "Just wait 'till she gets to the Mike Mills bit..." 😁
Listened to so many reactors but none ive seen have commented he got a Hendrix riff in there (Hey Joe)
Well, "JW Soundworks" did (about 18min15sec) and he got a great reaction from Arjen.

This is AWESOME VOICE!!! 👌🏼🎤

You have much more digging into Ayreon before you, my dear. Enjoy!
