  • these 400mm warbirds from amazon are quiet capable aircraft if you take the time to work on them and use a new open tx controller.

    Hi Matt that’s really nice flying mate. T28 is my favourite next is the Mustang P51 I’m using a radiomaster ZORRO with the nicer gimbals I’m not quite as confident as you in manual mode so tend to fly in horizontal mode then briefly go to manual mode until I chicken out and flick the safe mode switch but im getting there practice makes perfect as they say.and thanks really appreciate the help with your settings,kind regards johnw fromAUST

    Yes check the servos with a servo checker, and zero out the servo, then put the arm back on it, just don't forget to reset the trim's on the transmitter for that T-28, kewl Beans Bro.....😁😀
    P.S. you can also adjust the linkages with that little U shape wire linkage.......

      Just had to put my f22 in the closet today, same issue one motor gets no power. I think I'm going to get the su35 to scratch my mini jet itch. However next plane I'm getting will be the 900mm sbach it's only 110 and is a 3d trainer which I've come to realize I love 3d flying it's just very costly to get anything in that category

    So for better seeing the transmitter, you should have a desk, with an overhead cam showing down on your desk!!! Then people can see your transmitter inputs better!?? IMHO....

      @@davidlewis620 the expo helps a ton!! I took the wing apart from my t28 and maxed out all control surfaces on it so I can get it to tumble and it sure was flying great but the day ended. Hope to upload more of the t28 soon it flies incredibly stable at low speeds

    Good stuff Matt....I did the same thing with the 500mm Sport S2 and my Radiomaster TX16s and it made the plane fly so much better. I put a slightly bigger prop with more thrust on it, that made a big difference. I also put some small LED nav. lights on it for low light visibility and that will get you a couple more flights in as it starts to get dark. I'm going to get a couple of these warbirds and give those a try. If you want or need a little more authority on control surfaces you can add some clear packing tape to the outer edges by 2-3mm and that really wakes it up and the tape is clear so it doesn't look that bad, but these warbirds may not need that. As you probably already know - don't put tape on any painted surface unless you plan on leaving the tape in place or don't mind the paint coming off when you remove the tape.

    • @MatthewDoesStuffRC
      @MatthewDoesStuffRC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Amazing I actually have clear packing tape being delivered today as well! I was thinking about this but had trouble finding support on it I definitely do plan to add some tape to my t28 I see huge potential for it but it's very nose heavy. I would love to do things like maybe flaps one day or extended wings flat like flaps to see if I can get it to harrier or something

    Hey Matt, is it possible to make a similar video but with the camera set up and zoomed in to purposefully film the tx screen? It would be nice to see the settings as you’re talking about them.
    Your flight skill is excellent and people want to imitate your settings perfectly. Thanks for making these vids.

      @@trendkill555 I don't think I can make a good video on tx settings but I could help walk you through them, what did you have questions with? That little f4u would be really fun with head tracking fpv. Maybe another 5 years or so and they will be small enough to do that with!

    • @MatthewDoesStuffRC
      @MatthewDoesStuffRC  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I originally bought fpv for this months ago and Amazon messed up that order out of all my orders so i decided to not play with fpv till a further time. The little tiny cameras are around 5-8 grams but I would highly recommend it on the t28 as it is 9 grams lighter than the f4u stock

    So if I may ask!???, where are you at bro, I'm here in San Antonio,tx....So I am guessing, because of the mountains in the background, maybe salt lake city.Utah or there about's >????
    I was there back in the 90's, spent two and a half years there.. I loved going into the foothills, and exploring, the uenta mountain"s,and the Wasatch mountains I worked up there at parkcity, building houses there.., also worked in Salt lake, West valley, and West Jordan as well as Sandy and draper; that view you have reminds me of there!??...

    Good video there Matt. I'm rapidly building a collection of these and enjoy flying them as much as my bigger stuff. I was interested in what you said about the F22. I have a similar F35 which I can't seem to find a protocol to bind it to on my TX16s with the latest 4 in 1 module firmware. What protocol did you use on your F22? My F35 flies ok on the stock transmitter but it would be nice to have more controls like expo etc on the Radiomaster.

    • @MatthewDoesStuffRC
      @MatthewDoesStuffRC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you, I updated my jumper to 1.3.4.11 and the sgf22 protocol was the correct protocol for my plane. I really like f22s with props but I don't like anything on the market currently so I ordered a flight test f22 I'm going to be assembling soon

Gracias.

    • @MatthewDoesStuffRC

      The intermediate or middle gyro setting the elevator moves like a switch only 100% up or down or nothing. This is to help it do the loops I assume but there is nothing to change it for that gyro setting. The other modes do not have that issue

    And you must remember that these planes are to scale so they are subject to stalling just like the real one's just keep the throttle at a 1/4 to 1/3, to keep from stalling!???/..... especially when Landing them!??...... I do like the extra long battery hatch on the f4u corsair, as opposed to the p-51d's,/........
