We all love watching the ‘Real Housewives’ franchises for the drama, the lifestyles and the opulence. But is what we are seeing on screen mirroring what is really happening in real life? It’s not all Bentleys and brunches for the fifteen housewives on our list. These ladies have been through some real financial hardships or have even served time, all of which is sometimes shown on the show but in most cases not. From Atlanta housewives like Nene Leakes, Kim Zociak-Biermann and Shereé Whitfield and Potomac housewives like Karen Huger and Robyn Dixon these ladies have filed bankruptcy and had run ins with the IRS all while keeping up with the Joneses. And we can’t forget the west coast darlings, like Dorit Kemsley, Brandi Glanville, Lynne Curtin, Alexis Bellinio and Peggy Tanous who almost rival those on the east, specifically Danielle Staub, Teresa Guidice, Jacquline Laurita, Jules Wainstein and Sonja Morgan, in the criminal charges and tax evasion category. This video is almost as drama filled as the popular reality series! While some ladies are able to get out of their financial strains, others weren’t quite so lucky. Or they still just keep up appearances so that no one is the wiser.

This could be the reason they went in so hard on Denice Richards! She didn't waste the 4 million dollars she got on designer duds, Denice looked good in jeans and a tee shirt! Totally a beautiful SoCal girl.. Living within her means! It's sad when you see a movie star hit rock bottom because; they had to buy that Ferrari and Mansion, only to realize the up-keep on that car and that house is blowing through your savings and you haven't gotten a paying role in 5 years!

@@Jynx9921 ok Miltank, don’t hit me with Rollout, but royalties are nothing in terms of income, they don’t give the musicians that much, plus her songs are not major hits (unlike Kandi’s). And if the accusations are true, she will have to pay back the victims, as she herself stated that Tom bought her all she had.

What's amusing is that, as entertained as I am by these crazy housewives, there are recurrent AVOIDABLE themes, bankruptcy, lavish living and failure to pay taxes.
I'm still waiting to hear about one who lost their fortune. Claiming bankruptcy only means they want to escape their bills. It doesn't mean they don't have more stashed somewhere.

I don't know the system in the US, but in my country, if I owe 200 in taxes I have a choice of paying them or they will automatically withdraw them from my paycheck. Simple as that!
