10:35 Pat Roach also appears as the big Thuggie guard in Temple of Doom who gets crushed by the roller and gets beaten up by Indy in a deleted scene in Last Crusade but had died before Crystal Skull. (okay, I hadn't watched the whole video when I wrote that)
To everyone who likes "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull", I have THIS to say: Haters gonna hate, and there's nothing you can do about it. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life. Don't mind the haters and don't mind the people who call you names because of it. Don't let anyone pull you down for ANYTHING. We are all different, and that is totally okay. You do YOU, guys!
I love the Indiana Jones franchise. I pretty much grew up watching it. I even named my dog after the main protagonist. But when it comes to favourite film in the franchise, I’m torn between Raiders of the Lost Ark & The Last Crusade. Also, Harrison Ford is an Awesome Indy. It’s cool that there’s so many Star Wars references within the franchise. Also, there’s actually a really cool Star Wars Easter egg(mainly about Han Solo) in the Lego Indiana Jones games. The first Lego Indiana Jones game had the ability to unlock a playable Han Solo character by discovering different Star Wars characters & locations based around the different missions. Some include finding Chewie in Mos Eisley Cantina which was hidden in a level set in Cairo and finding Princess Leia in her cell (from the detention block in the first Death Star) which is hidden in a Temple of Doom level. Whereas, the second Lego Indiana Jones game had a brief appearance of Han Solo in Carbonite In The first mission of the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull hub world set around the Area 51 scene.
Ford and Selleck have both played the same character, the two fisted coward who doesn't want to fight but kicks ass when he does. This character was actually invented by James Garner and both Ford and Selleck are just two of Garner's many imitators.
Anthony Powell was mistaken though - yes, the dress was made from original beads & sequins, but there were more than 2 made. Two dresses were on display at exactly the same time, in 2 different exhibitions, in two different countries - both claiming to be the principle costume. One was on display at the Hollywood Costume exhibition in Los Angeles and another dress was on display in Edmonton (literally at the exact same time), as part of the Indiana Jones: Adventure of Archaeology exhibition. Also - I have spoken with a woman who worked in Barbara Matera's costume studio (the studio who made the dress) who confirms that more than 1 dress was made. Also oh my god, I think I might be a bit obsessed with that dress lol
I saw Raiders on the first weekend, and when Indy shoots the big saber guy, the whole theater exploded with applause! I thought this was the director’s decision, didn’t know it was because Ford was sick. Great decision though-provides a little comic relief.
It was neither Steven nor George's idea of the nuclear scene with refrigerator. It was Bob Gales who wrote it in the first draft of Back To The Future dated in 1981. That's how Marty got Back To The Future. There is a draft of it on Simply Scripts.
4:23 The jackets for the first three movies were made by Peter Botwrite of the English company Wested Leather. (He also hand-made my Indy Jacket). Peter was not happy about Lucasfilm getting someone else to copy (rip-off) his design for Crystal Skull. The jackets are slightly different in each movie, i.e., such as colour, number of buttons and length. The design is a modified 'A2' World War One pilot jacket.
Fact #102: Dr Jones was shown at his teaching job at Marshall College. Marshall was played in the movie by Yale University. The real Marshall College (Now University) is in Huntington, WV. The real campus of Marshall University was the setting for the movie "We Are Marshall!".
Last Crusade is the BEST out of all the Indy films, who else agrees with that 👍🏻 and the Raiders Bullwhip by David Morgan is my favorite Bullwhip, I have been lucky enough to purchase a 10 foot David Morgan Raiders Bullwhip and also his apprentice Bernardo Del Carpio 10 foot Last Crusade Bullwhip ;)
The fridge scene from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull was Created by Robert Zemeckis & Bob Gale for the first Back To The Future movie
Seeing clips from these movies back to back, Raiders and Temple appear to be the ones where Spielberg was his most visually ambitious--they're immaculate, a pleasure to look at. Either he'd exhausted his visual ideas or was more in touch with character in Crusade and Skull.
I don't have a problem with Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, unlike most people. It had its flaws, but I find it a decent enough entry in the franchise. It makes sense to shift the bad guys from being the Nazis to the Russians, and for the movie to have a sci-fi theme since such films were a popular genre in the 50s. My one movie I have a problem with is the Temple of Doom. God, practically all I can remember of the movie are the gross-out bits and all the screaming.
I love the German "sub"titel in the upper half of "Temple of Doom" - "Adventure has many faces - Indiana Jones shows them all". Corny as it can get, eh?
Princess Lela's theme and Marion's theme are very similar.if you listen carefully it is very much Marion's theme playing during the wedding scene. Plus, I doubt John Williams would use a theme from Star Wars when a romantic theme already exists in the Indiana Jones universe
Just a few things :D 1, the German uniform from Raiders of the lost ark were those of the Afrika Corps which would not have existed yet 2, the Mp 40 submachine gun was not developed until as the name implies 1940 3, during the club scene in Temple of doom, you can see a cast members head from under the table 4, in the Kingdom of the crystal skull, Irina Spalko was originally supposed to have part of her face eaten by the giant ants, but was not put into production because of not being family friendly 5, I'm surprised not a lot of people have noticed this, but all the films have some sort of fan, or sharp spinning object! First the plane propeller engine, second the fan in Indys room, third the gaint ship propeller in Venice, and forth the spinning saw blade from the destroyed Soviet vehicle.

32:07 I'm so sick of people saying this. The music playing is MARION'S THEME. NOT LEIA'S. Yes, they sound similar. John Williams did both movies. But this is the thousandth time I've heard someone say this. Listen to the score, people, it's DIFFERENT.
The fridge scene was definitely the idea of Spielberg. He originally wanted to use the scene in the film Back to the Future where Marty and Doc had to take a lead lined fridge to a nuclear testing site however it was cut when both Spielberg and Zemekis thought that kids would want to copy Marty and climb into fridges.
In The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull when they are running into the forest, Indy actually says "yeah? Well this is tolerable." It's when Mutt says "They're gonna kill us! Somebody had to do something!"

Like the MP40 in Raiders of the lost ark and last crusade was not made until 1940 and those movies take place in 1936 and 1938 and someone please confirm this for me but the gun that Mac uses to threaten Indy when he captures him in Peru kind of looks like a glock which weren’t used until the 1980s but again he might be holding something else

@@Person-wz6iy probably would've happened too. now kids just swallow tide pods and kill themselves taking selfies on radio antennas trying to get more "likes"
Great video as always, Sam. How about having a go at 101 facts about avatar
The last airbender? The Netflix version is coming out soon.
Age of Indy isn’t a problem, in The Last Crusade he drinks of the holy grail and it’s stated in the film that drinking that can give you eternal life. For all we know the movie might as well take place in 2020
You only get eternal life if you keep drinking from the fountain WITH the Holy Grail
Bill Murray as Indians Jones would be quite a sight
The train sequence in Last Crusade has got THE worst fake animals ever seen in a film !
Fun facts: 'Gellert' and 'Grindelwald' are both places in Switzerland. So is 'Davos' from Game of Thrones. COINCIDENCE?
Wilson Fisk I THINK NOT!!!!
And Davos in Doctor Who.
Mylum O'Shinn his name is actually Davros
Crystal Skull is definitely weak, but I think it gets way too much hate.
I love the Stone Cold reference in this as I am a huge wrestling fan. STONE COLD! STONE COLD! STONE COLD!
32:07 I'm so sick of people saying this. The music playing is MARION'S THEME. NOT LEIA'S. Yes, they sound similar. John Williams did both movies. But this is the thousandth time I've heard someone say this. Listen to the score, people, it's DIFFERENT.
Sorry. Got frustrated.
Is saw that fly entering Belloq's mouth while watching the movie a couple of days ago.
the failing engine/hyperdriv e sound was also used on the "the burbs" when the generator kicked off in the beginning of the film
Last Crusade is the best of the original 3
Indiana Jones is my favourite movie character and I'm so excited this video exists😂
In The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull when they are running into the forest, Indy actually says "yeah? Well this is tolerable." It's when Mutt says "They're gonna kill us! Somebody had to do something!"
Raphael Rae Intolerable.
3:49 The Hat, I was under the impression the hat was called the Poet AND is part of the Australian Range because it is similar (but not the same as) the hat Australian Poet Banjo Paterson wore.
I like Crystal Skull.
There. It needed to be said.
On with the motley.
I like it too
I like them all. I didn't know there would be another one. I had thought the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull would be the last. If not I will be eagerly waiting for the next one.
40th comment! I am late but at least I'm here! I love you and your channel! Keep up the work you are amazing!
No wonder doc ock hates spiders so much
If the new film is set in the Sixties, it would be funny if Indy ran into Sean Connery’s James Bond during his adventures.
Am I the only one to wonder what happend when it suddenly showed a clip of Uluru?
Uluru!
I'm a big fan of your channel. I have two suggestions for you, and they will be big hits. 101 Facts About Unicorns, and 101 Facts About Mermaids. These two subjects are in the general zeitgeist.
Fantastic job. That was fun to watch. The 3rd movie was Last Crusade. You keep saying "Lost Crusade"
Bruh Leias theme never played in the wedding
Yup, its Marion's theme. Similar but not the same.
ahhhhh... Boba Fett falling into the sarlac pit used the same falling / scream sound. Who made that audio effect? It's been in like all movies. Hope that unknown actor is well paid :-)
Do a 101 facts about Sons of anarchy
Fact 1: Don't bother watching after season 1.
I love all all 4 Indiana Jones movies and I’m excited for the fifth one (If that is going to be a reality) I think the first and third are the best but I find myself watching Kingdom of the crystal skull the most.
Edit: I just want to point out that there are some out of place objects.
