As an Afghan I can read, write and speak Pashto, Dari/Persian, Urdu, English and Portuguese. Urdu/Hindi is changing rapidly due to socio-political reasons. Sanskrit/Hindi words have been removed from Urdu spoken in Pakistan, but in India it’s alive and well. If you listen to Zakir Khan’s speech you’ll realize how beautifully he incorporates Hindi words into his eloquently spoken Hindustani. My current favorite book that I’m reading is Gulistan by Sa’di Shirazi, one of the greatest literary giants of Persian literature.

@@سلامہريکےHindi didn't come from Urdu. Hindustani used to be spoken which had some Persian words also. More Persian words were added to make Urdu. Urdu came from Hindustani and Hindustani separated from Old Hindi. Old Hindi is descendant of Shauraseni Prakrit.
So, In conclusion Hindi and Urdu both came from Hindustani. Because of revolution in early 19th century Devanagari script was developed to move away from Nastaliq script. Nastaliq script is Perso-Arabic script.
Hindi Grammer was properly developed after Independence and few letter shapes were improved.

@@sckshakex4308 Urdu is sanskritic language but there is 20% vocabulary which make it more like Persian. Hindi mostly don't have any loanwords from Persian or Arabic as most of the words have equivalent in hindi which are derived from Sanskrit. What you see in Bollywood or real life is because nobody uses pure hindi, they add some Hindustani words in their vocabulary instead of hindi.

Yes, historically Hindko, Pahari, Pothowari are Northern dialects of Punjabi while Derewal, Riasti and Multani are the Southern dialects of Punjabi. Due to political divide and rule of the British the term Siraiki was introduced after 1857 to club the three southern dialects which became a political slogan since the 1970s.

Hindko and seraiki have not been officially recognized a separate languages and even the speakers of these languages don’t consider themselves as Punjabis so there is no point of merging them with Punjabi, for sure they have high mutual intelligibility with punjabi but even Urdu has mutual intelligibility with Punjabi language but this doesn’t mean that Punjabi and Urdu are the same language

I agree with u that Hindko,Pahaarri n to an extent Saraiki speaking people consider themselves different than Panjabis but this is overwhelmingly due to geographic n cultural reasons rather than language itself bcoz these dialects share around 90 percent of basic words but pronunciation is quite different !!

Basically Multani (Siraiki), Pahaari, Pothohari and Hindko are dialects of Punjabi language, Not separate languages. What people in this video are referring as Punjabi is actually another dialect called Maajhi (that's the dialect spoken in major regions of western punjab).
Another very painful thing to see in this video is that some people especially the younger ones don't know their native (regional language) and tell Urdu as their Native one (which is not).

It's because they are Islamabadis, that is the federal Capital (a non provincial area) made after Pakistan came into being and has people from all provinces living together in a mixed culture where they don't really get to practice their own cultures fully since their very neighbors aren't sharing the same culture. If the video was filmed in a provincial area (either KPK, Balochistan, Sindh, Gilgit Baltistan or Punjab) you'd see people knowing their local languages and would have their provincial language as their means of communication.
