    • @mchevre
      @mchevre 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@Muffy703 That's a possibility. It honestly seems just as likely though that it's something much more than that. Have you seen how a dolphin's brain looks? The wrinkles, the size to body ratio, the cerebral cortex. A dolphin's cerebral cortex is 40% larger than a human's and has more folds than a human's.
      Does this mean they're smarter than us? Probably not - although if they were it would be hard to tell given they live in the water and don't have hands, so it's not like they can build many tools or make technology.
      At the very least though, it seems rather likely they are the 2nd most intelligent species on the planet after us (moreso than chimpanzees). They have their own highly developed language with syntax, grammar, and they even identify each other by a unique name.

Their intelligence, as you said, is different because the're ancestors crawled back in to the ocean from land and never developed hands and fingers to create technology but that doesn't mean they're not highly intellegent beings. • @DontCareL0L
      @DontCareL0L 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mlbrooks4066It's actually NOT "a lot of room". The tank is not deep enough, nor is it wide enough for even just one dolphin. Think about the ocean, is it that small and that shallow?? No, it is not. It is also a health risk, because the sun's rays can easily burn them since the tank is too shallow. As for the interaction with people, having a bunch of people tapping on the glass, screaming and trying to make you do things for them is highly stressful and scary. Honestly, would you like to live in that environment? Especially if it was not the environment you were meant to be in to begin with??? As for the food, dolphins are not supposed to have a "steady food" source, it is unhealthy for them to eat every, single day. Their bodies are not made for it. Too much food can kill.

      Near Brisbane Australia, we have a couple of wild dolphin feeding gimmicks. We are not allowed to just start feeding any wildlife, but these places had been doing it so long that they ended up being issued permits. So it can be done.
      We also have a Sea World where they have been bred in captivity for generations, from a time when people didn't know any better. Sea World also do most of the marine rescues in the region out of their own pocket, so animals that can't be returned to the wild end up working for their keep, but at least some of the money goes back into rescue and rehabilitation of other marine animals.
      So it is sort of a Win - Draw - Win, and the animals are well cared for, which helps to aim our moral compass a little more at ease..

    • @Crow23346
      @Crow23346 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Unfortunately a lot of these animals have either been bred in captivity (which makes them unable to be released as they cannot survive in the wild) because of low population crises, or were injured or abandoned as a baby and had to be looked after and now has been being looked after for too long that they cannot survive in the wild. There are also some that have chronic health issues that are a death sentence in the wild.
      Most places like this dont actually house animals that are capable of being released just fine, regardless of what activists say, these places are rehabilitation centres and clinics, even when theyre called “zoos”.
      Speaking of the abandoned baby part, some countries even have a law that makes rescuing baby wild animals illegal, due to the fact that its giving it a life of captivity as it cannot be rereleased and they find it cruel (whereas i think its crueler to not try to let an animal life, even if its in captivity)

Have you seen the wild dolphins always have some sort of scars and fins turn off???!. Stop being so ignorant man!. They are so smart that they may enjoy having a job to do with humans. Most prisoners who are set free won't know how to survive in the free society. At least dolphins are well taken care of with good nutritious food and healthcare. Again they have a job as well instead of swimming around in the ocean without any objectives then get attacked by predators as well. Not saying it's the best for dolphins but always pros and cons for them either way.

    a few people are saying it is the dolphin being aggressive because he/she is clapping jaws. That is not entirely true. jaw clapping is also for play fights, I just searched up. You know how dogs and cats bite and scratch playfully when they play. It is like that, I think the dolphin recognised the child was a small version of humans and wanted to play a bit. I am not animal expert but I occasionally find animals are much easier to read than humans thought they are. They are not that different from humans, you know. Sometimes you just sit and watch animals you realize they do have a bit of emotions, even though incomparable to humans, and we are a bit similar.

    Dolphin and human toddlers fall in love with each other. Viewers fall in love with both. ❤💔.
    As many people, I wonder if the dolphin is comfortable in captivity. Perhaps such a viewing platform could be built to the open sea so the dolphins can interact with humans only if they want to.

    About the moat wholesome thing Ive seen today. That dolphin turned out far bugger than I expected though. I thought he was sitting on his tail. And the size he was from that angle was the size he was but there were 2/3 hidden out of sight. Outta sight, man!

    most dolphins in captivity today were injured and rehabilitated and unable to be released back into the ocean or were born in captivity and couldn't survive on their own so don't be so quick to judge their situation most are very happy and well kept in a tank environment
