Thanks for your efforts here. Very useful info! And you're right...every couple of years Gibson releases a new humbucker that they claim is the closest thing to original PAF sound. It's all marketing BS, and they've cried wolf too many times to be taken seriously.
I have the series 1. I’m not rich by any means and yeah they’re pricey but I absolutely have zero buyer’s remorse. They are absolutely amazing pickups!
IMO they both sound extremely nice. Great playing & demonstration BTW. Alot of what you we're playing brings me back to the sounds of the 70's radio tunes I listened to in my youth, which is a great way of showing me that Gibson's R&D department hit it's mark..as most of the lp's & SG's used in making these recordings we're probably PAF pup's. Even the more aggressive stuff you played sounded extremely clear & articulate. Thanks Ben..sorry for being so long winded...

Pickups in the 50s and 60s were wildly inconsistent in build quality, materials, and performance. In fact, pickups didn't have any sort of consistency till Larry DiMarzio released the Super Distortion in the early 70s, and not long after Seymour Duncan produced the JB. Cheers!
After spending way too much time trying to bookmark your work and having TH-cam shitheads keep fucking with my editing attempts, I just gave up… you should add them so that people can get some utility out of this.
Hi. Thanks for the comment. To be honest, I have no idea what you are talking about. I have the chapter markers in the description but I don't know what you mean by bookmarking it or "adding them". Adding what?
Thanks for the help!
Probably get real ones for less…. The pre tops smokes them all.
Series 2 sounds better for me, more "vintage", Alnico II rules
1200 Guitar and 1000 pickups? MNS
Is there a requirement for what guitar they should go in? Cheers!
Bro!
Have tried the doyle coil pickups?
Seems that no one’s really talking about them i reckon they shit on the gibsons
I haven’t. I’ll put them on the radar.
57 vs Seth lovers vs......-hehe
I like to this idea.
The Chinese are reverse engineering them as we speak, they'll be out for Christmas at $80
Already done... Artec...
But the biz is driven by folks with lots more cash than guitar skills.
The joy of an open jam where a good player with a cheap Chinese guitar totally out-plays some guy with a boutique amp and a 5000$ guitar is priceless.
We have 2 choices:
1) Impress folks with what we can buy
2) impress folks with what we can play
The money grab ,how dumb can you be to buy this nonsense 😂😂
Thanks for your comment!
These are a great buisiness investment... Let's see, I make xxx$ per gig....I will have these paid for when I am 97 years old...🤔
Series 2 sounds like my 490R/T, LOL. That’s not a bad thing, I like 490’s. But, I didn’t have to spend $1000 on them.
Yeah, you don’t buy these pickups for the sound, that’s for sure. 👍🏽
great video by you, another scam by gibson
PT Barnum was right.
Always leave them wanting more? 😜
How to "relic" a blue guitar...🤣
I Murphy Lab’d it. 🤣 Nah, the guitar is fine. That cheap poly coating they put on it is bulletproof. 😆
@CompanyGripGuitar 🤣🤣Murphy lab'd it..haha..that made me laugh
