A beautiful memorial to the British and Commonwealth soldiers who gave their lives in the war in Hong Kong. This Canadian 🇨🇦🍁 says thank you Mr. AM. An interesting history lesson that I never heard much about in school. ❤
Thank you for this Arroz. I am proud inrigeneous Canadian.🇨🇦🇨🇦 My father's Indigenous uncles and cousins fought in the battlefields of Europe and some buried there. My mother's parents were at Canadian headquarters and my grandmother was a Wren. My grandfather stayed army ofr 36 years. My father joined and was 26 years. I am very proud of our military background. And yet, with all the history and knowledge i learned of Canada's war contrivution, i had not learned of Canada's contributionin Hong Kong. Thank you for teaching it to me. As sad as i was to see the Maple Leaf on the headstones as it meant a young Canadian did not make it home, there was also pride in kn9wing we were there. As a Canadian, i want to thank the people of Hong Kong in looking after the cemetary and keeping the names and soldiers in their memory. Thank you.
Fascinating video tonight A.M.! Learned about a slice of history, that I'd never knew about. It was great to see some of your old videos, where Skull Head was still alive. He was a great alpha male. Won't be another one like him again! Thank you A.M.! Everyone stay safe & take care. Catch me later!
Same. I never liked history at all growing up. I think it's because now we are seeing things that interest us instead of what we had to learn in school. Or maybe bc we feel closer to our roots the older we get. Maybe both. I just wanted to add this to your comment bc you def aren't alone
@@shellyhudson1631 I think you are 100% right, I mean when I watch documentaries it’s usually on things I choose to watch but yet I am glad that we were forced to learn things at a younger age even if I didn’t like it. Ha ha!
Thanks, A.M. for a very interesting tribute to the fallen soldiers. You are very talented and knowledgeable and make your videos so interesting with your narration and music choices. I'm so glad i found your channel. I was fascinated by the tunnels/trenches and was in awe as the video at the cemetery swept over the top of a building. Do you have a drone? It was a very well-kept cemetery.
Thank you sir for this episode. I never knew any of that and even as my claustrophobia waa screaming for all get out, i enjoyed seeing all those tunnels and their history
Thank you for showing us the history of monkey hill, (the ghost of monkey hill) I have wondered many times about the history of the place, this was a fascinating video as always , thank you sir .
I notice that Bossy's troop is generally pretty lenient with kids getting fed before some adults, at least when Grandee was still around. You can see it at around the 21:00 minute mark, when the feeder feeds Grandee first but then starts passing it out to Ridgy and Stacy's kids before everyone else, and they aren't even high-rank families.
What a wonderful history lesson AM, thank you for researching and sharing it with us. It was also wonderful to see some of the former Alphas, Grandee and Skullhead. Keep up the good work.
thank you AM.i find it strange how it seems theres nothing just firrest the city.like a line wa drawn builld in here but not outside .i wonder if you lived in the first tall building and had a good set of binocs coukd you see the monkeys i wonder. also could you do a video about skull head im intrested in knowing what made him different, its allways interesting thinking which big males around the edges could step up and be king
Do you know the story about the fantastic Sergeant Gander? Being very interested in history the story about him is one of the heart warming ones that has been stuck in my mind for a very long time. Unfortunately he was one of the Canadians who died in the battle Hong Kong. 🤓🇸🇪 🇨🇦
Your videos are one of my most favorite ones to watch...thank you. Now my friends little boy wants to watch almost every time he comes over. He comes in climbs in my lap and says monkey's. He is just at three years old and loves to watch....
Beautiful cemetery! Such a honor showing their appreciation for those that gave their lives to fight a long side of them.❤ Thanks AM for sharing this history with us. God bless 🙏❤️🙏
Thsnk you, AM, for this important history lesson. Way too many people know way too little about WW II. I knew HK was involved but did not remember it fell 17 days after Pearl Harbor.
Isn't 😢it sad what mankind is capable of doing to one another. I just wish we would learn from past wars and never ever have another one. But so far we haven't learned 😢😢😢...Della SHAMEFUL
A sense of humour was a must. They were only kids! My dad was an Australian pilot who became one of the famous Dam Busters and, at only 19 said their humour helped to get past the tragedy of losing mates.

It’s funny as I am older I enjoy learning so much more history than I ever did. Thank you dear friend.

Mr Fredette was a legend among Canadians living in HK. I heard about him from a fellow Canadian within a couple weeks of arriving. Great story

@@ML_SE no, don’t know the story. Would love to hear about it. I think the reason Mr Fredette was known is because how long he lived.

That is so cute! You must be in heaven, a sweet 3 year old who loves the monks and wants to sit and watch them with you.❤

Hi everyone
Hi Yvonne
Hello 👋
Interesting

Who is that at 18:33? And 19:02
No idea. They probably belong to Jubilee troop.
🙈🙉🙊
I'm early.
