  • The 2021 Annual Priory Lecture on literature and religion, hosted by the Priory, Lancaster, and the Department of English Literature and Creative Writing at Lancaster University. Rev. Dr. Rachel Mann speaks on 'The flesh that needs to be loved: the power and beauty of bodies in a time of pandemic'. The talk offers a lyrical meditation on the experience of living through the covid pandemic of 2020-21 and includes the first readings of some of Rachel's new poetry.
Rachel Mann is a priest, poet, writer and broadcaster. Her writing has been described as ‘exceptional’ (Rowan Williams), ‘astonishing’ (Michael Symmons Roberts’) and ‘perceptive’ (The TLS), and her debut novel, The Gospel of Eve, was hailed as ‘page-turning’ (The Telegraph) and ‘clever, subtle and dark’ (The Tablet).
