I want to say thank you jacob for speaking out for mental health awareness and being very kind to those that have mental health issues this world needs more people like you Thanks for another great video and i hope that you and you’re family are staying safe in these difficult times
Having lost my brother in law, at 24 to bi- polar disorder, who was also a dear friend from our first meeting in 7th grade. I have seen those struggles first hand and worked with children, young adults and military to this day battling their own personal daemons and mental health struggles on our farm through equine assisted therapy. Blessed to be able to involve rescues who faced horrors and nightmares of their own, while also continuing my brother in laws and husbands shared love of our beloved equine ( my husband while not a combat vet, is a disabled vet after serving his country through 2 tours in the United States Marine Corps, before being forced out due to his service related injuries.) Thank you Jacob for your compassion and sensitivity in your approach, and discussion of this subject, while also shining a light on a very real and often ignored issue in today’s society! Much Love!
It’s great to watch Jacobs editing evolve. Also to mention he is more comfortable speaking to the camera and his presentation is more professional. We love ya Jacob! Keep up the great content
i really like this style of editing. he did great live commentary before but for digesting long stories and history, inter-splicing is very much appreciated.
Will is a prime example of the saying “fine line between genius and insanity “. I hope somewhere along the line a judge sees that he gets the help he so desperately needs instead of being put in jail. The part where he talks about the pipe where he almost hung himself is heartbreaking 😢
i read a lot about him and watched jacob's videos of his attractions but i didn't know about that pipe part. really changes the view of curiosity to sympathy for me for sure.
Thank you for handling the mental health situation with kindness and sensitivity in regards to Will. People are too quick to judge and jump to conclusions. We need more people like you in our corner.
Thanks for the recap Jacob. You did and have done good reporting on Funtown, and Will. He’s a good guy. Louisville is rooting for him, and looking forward to what he pulls off next! Stay safe!
I fell behind on uploads due to school but your abandoned funtown mountain video is what brought me here and I subscribed. It’s been a long ride but I hope it’s not stopping anytime soon
Can't wait for Will Russell's next project ! He is an awesome dreamer. Love the time I spent showing him my wacky world while he was trying to turn Guntown Mountain into something awesome !
followed this for a while (how i came across this channel in fact), so seeing jacob's updates as it happens was quite a trip (seeing his footprints in the lot after his breakdown that jacob captured as shown here was quite something). hope will is well. he is certainly a legend in his own right.
Aloha Jacob! I got to know a lot of people with mental health issues when I volunteered at a shelter. The problem that I noticed, was that when they took their medicine, things went pretty smoothly. However, many have underlying drug/alcohol problems which is a kind of self-medicating. This ineviteably causes them to quit their medicine, and the whole cycle of loss, sadness, and destruction begins again! Its really, incredibly sad! Thank you for treating mental illness issues just like any physical illness, the difference berween the two, is a chemical imbalance in the brain.
Thank you Jacob for producing this video documentary! I just want to say to everyone out there, please visit and support Froggetts, they are great people, and have put a lot of time, money, and effort into restoring that theme park!
the "crazy carnie" character come to real life!! i dont know why but i find it fascinating when TV show and movie tropes/character types become a reality! 🤣
I feel so bad for him, he's got such a cool style and ideas with all the items he collects and puts together. Reminds me a lot of Pee Wee's house in Big Adventure and in Pee Wee's Playhouse, so many unique kitschy things. I hope he's able to get the help that he needs instead of just getting thrown in jail over and over again. He seems like he's a nice guy too. :(
Very interesting. Brings back memories of a western town we visited years ago. I cant remember the name. I think it was in the Carolinas. We rode a little train shuttle from the parking lot & they had shows of "live gunfights".
Wow! Your revisiting Funtown mountain was the first video of yours I watched. Interesting to see theis retrospect. In a way Funtown mountain was a metaphor for Will Russell. I hope things are currently well for him.
I never met Will, but I've been to three Lebowskifest celebrations. If he can come up with that idea, he certainly has rare talent. I hope he's doing well. We all struggle with our demons, sometimes getting them out in the open is the best way to fix it.
Thank you Jacob, I appreciate your sensitivity. Would that more people be mindful of others situations without judging. On another note.. I got my pin and it makes me smile seeing your smiling face.
Will has a flair for Southern fried kitsch. When we visited during that first week at Funtown, there was a great sense of optimism with the plans for expansion (a full-size Ewok village!?). It was sad to see the project fall like it did. Last year he was trying to produce his own documentary film about the Funtown saga; I haven't heard any recent news on its completion status.
“They took me off my Mid Stabilizer, then I went Cra-Cra and bought a amusement park, called Guntown Mountain.” Well, that sure says a lot, but yes it is a very sad story though. 😕
Fort Dells in Wisconsin Dells was an old western themed attraction with a gun fight, haunted house, and train ride. Was the best place to visit, but fell out of favor to newer attractions like Noah's Ark. Today, Fort Dells is gone, replaced by a McDonald's. Tweetsie Railroad near Boone, NC is a great wild west park.
Have you ever been to Love Valley? It's basically abandoned these days but they still have special events and I think a bar that's open on the weekends. Well they normally would. lovevalley.com/ It's in Statesville.
You should work with will Russell and do a Netflix series on mental health and theme park. $$$$$$$$$$$ or maybe theres already a documentary if there is post a link
I always imagined someone opening up their property and allowing strangers to take anything they want free of charge. It would be fine if the violence and idiocy didn't come with it. Just take what you want and leave.
i don't relay think there is such a thing as "wining" against a severe mental illness. Its one of those things that always has to be addressed and won't ever just go away. you either effectively manage it or it will effectively manage you. hope this guy gets to a better way tho.
I want to say thank you jacob for speaking out for mental health awareness and being very kind to those that have mental health issues this world needs more people like you
Thanks for another great video and i hope that you and you’re family are staying safe in these difficult times
I agree 100% Jacob's approach to mental health illness was done with kindness and sensitivity that will hopefully bring more awareness to the world.

This is such a sad story. Love and light to Will for healing and comfort.
Yep, to bad he ran out of money for this project and that caused him to return to the darkness for a while.
"Hello darkness my old friend"

Interesting how you were able to weave the whole story together for this video.
I remember those videos. I hope Will is getting the medical attention he needs and that he is doing better. Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤

So sad about Will. I hope he gets better and that things are good with his daughter!. Interesting video Jacob!.

That’s a sad story 🙏🏼 hope that guy gets free from his issues
Thanks for updating this story and making things aware and helping those who need it.
Hopefully Will Russell recovers. Awesome job on this episode!
I'm a folklore nerd and roadside attractions are part of that.Great job!
I fell behind on uploads due to school but your abandoned funtown mountain video is what brought me here and I subscribed. It’s been a long ride but I hope it’s not stopping anytime soon

Great video. Great compassion. On to the next! You do a great job. :-)
Thank you Jacob for producing this video documentary!

THANK YOU for speaking so kindly about Mental Illness. This was so well done.
the "crazy carnie" character come to real life!! i dont know why but i find it fascinating when TV show and movie tropes/character types become a reality! 🤣
That poor guy had some real issues. I hope he stays on his medication and has a good life. Thanks Jacob!
You started my craze for fun town.!!! Thanks for all the sweet videos
Spotting some cool fun stuff behind you in the bunker! It would be see everything and where they came from!
So glad i found this channel. Feel like it's custom content for stuff I dig. Awesome!
I really hope Will gets better. He's really trying to bring back roadside attractions. I wish him well. Thank you Jacob for the update.
I love when you do these kinds of sit down story videos! Always very interesting and informative!
That is soo sad, let's hope things improve for him and life gets better thankyou Jacob x

Great story!
Hi Jacob very nice vlog and so sad Funtown had its rise and fall. Stay well and safe 👍🏻😷🐶
Neat! I've wanted to know this whole story for a while
Wow! Love hearing the history of these roadside attractions and attractions 👍 What a strange story 😯
Such a sad, strange story.
Appreciate your efforts and dedication to continue providing content on your channel during this “unpleasantness”.
Wow! Your revisiting Funtown mountain was the first video of yours I watched. Interesting to see theis retrospect. In a way Funtown mountain was a metaphor for Will Russell. I hope things are currently well for him.
Very fond memories of gun town mountain went their in 1989 and 2006
I never met Will, but I've been to three Lebowskifest celebrations. If he can come up with that idea, he certainly has rare talent. I hope he's doing well. We all struggle with our demons, sometimes getting them out in the open is the best way to fix it.
So that's why you can hear other voices in your abandoned Funtown video, that was when it was being put up for auction.
Thank you Jacob, I appreciate your sensitivity. Would that more people be mindful of others situations without judging. On another note.. I got my pin and it makes me smile seeing your smiling face.
Reminds me of Wild West Town in Union, IL. Good food there too.
I went to the mini golf that summer; it had almost no AC and was hot as hell.

Id love to see an extended history of Cave City - there is so much on that main strip that's dead and gone.
Some of the old stuff is still here cave city has been hurting for a long time make it legal for alcohol has helped the town
Sad to hear that the poor fellow relapsed. He seems like a nice guy.
He is. And he is coming back.....
That clown looked like the one in Pee Wee's Big Adventure that was in front of the bike shop, where his bike was stolen.
Sad yet intriguing story. So the haunted attraction was destroyed during the looting?
It's a real shame his attractions didn't last long. He had some amazing ideas :(
Remember visiting in the early eighties as a kid. Riding the skylift up, the jail and the gallows are what comes to mind the most.
“They took me off my Mid Stabilizer, then I went Cra-Cra and bought a amusement park, called Guntown Mountain.” Well, that sure says a lot, but yes it is a very sad story though. 😕

Awesome vid 👍

Love ya Will, Stay Strong!💕
That snippet of the new iteration of Guntown that ended with a kid crying was excellent and thought provoking.
Thank you for explaining. I thought he just went insane
Have you ever been to Love Valley? It's basically abandoned these days but they still have special events and I think a bar that's open on the weekends. Well they normally would. lovevalley.com/ It's in Statesville.
Any word on what happened to BARNEY THE BEAR animatronic?
I love the kid that cryed when someone was shot.
Can you do lake lure nc
Someone should make a movie of guntown mountain
You should work with will Russell and do a Netflix series on mental health and theme park. $$$$$$$$$$$ or maybe theres already a documentary if there is post a link
Just a 40 conference..... honestly you would be the perfect guy for this... Do a pitch best of luckn
That kid crying during the gunfight was my entire reaction to this story
I have a question for you, Jacob, do you still wrestle? I love your wrestling videos!
Yes he still wrestles. :-) Just not at the moment, for obvious reasons (coronavirus).
Poor guy! I hope he can get the help he needs. It's such a struggle but finding a good match in a counselor and the right meds is life changing!
So sad about Will. He had some really good ideas I hope he’s getting the help that he needs.
What happen to the rock afire explosion?
I've lost the link, but it was bought by a collector and restored.
Hope he get's help, He built some cool place's .
Do you ever wonder if people like Will collapse under their own genius.
I always imagined someone opening up their property and allowing strangers to take anything they want free of charge. It would be fine if the violence and idiocy didn't come with it. Just take what you want and leave.

Yes.
People seem to think mental illness will just go away magically by Meds and Therapy.
Nope, it's a long battle to deal with.
I'd love to see you check out Enchanted Forest in Salem OR
Do more huanted history and cemetery
You remember MAGIC VALLEY? In PA?
