I've heard it said that, according to the Shia, Aisha wasn't a child-bride, but already a well-developed teenager at the time of her marriage to the Prophet. If so? Why do the Sunnis insist on her having been a child? To imply that an innocent baby-girl couldn't have made up all the things she reported?

None of this should be too surprising. A strong theory about the origin of the conflict with Ali is that she wanted Talha, her supposed lover, to become Khalifa replacing Ali and his sons. It’s stunning that the Quran itself strongly bars any Muslim from marrying any of the prophet’s wives after his passing as if anticipating this very scenario.

Anyone who denies this facts is either living in a bubble or his too emotional to face the truth either way one believes it or not.The facts are not going to change, its just unfortunate that Aisha's transgressions gives bad name to Islam and that is the sad part about it.

@@binthaydar Most welcome. Let me know if you're interested in reading hadith/sermons by the Holy Imams (a) regarding various topics. i got way many. See some for instance,
      (I'll post some regarding tawheed)
_(The book) ‘Al Ihtijaj’ - From Hisham Bin Al Hakam who said,_
‘The atheist asked Abi Abdillah Master Al Saadiq (a), He said,
‘From which thing did Allah Create the things?’
      He (a) said: ‘From nothing!’
He said, ‘So how did a thing come from nothing?’
He (a) said: ‘The things are not vacant from either having been created from a thing or from without a thing. If these were created from a thing, it would have been with Him. So that thing would be ancient, and the ancient cannot happen to be an occurrence, nor can it perish, nor change. And that thing cannot be vacant from being one essence, and one colour. So, from where did these difference colours and the many existing essences come to be in this world, from various types?
And where did the death come from, if the thing from which the things had been created, was alive? And from where did the life come from if that thing was dead? And it is not allowed that a living and dead both be ancient, nor ceasing to be, because the living is such that dead cannot come from it and He does not cease to be alive, nor is it allowed as well that the dead be ancient, not ceasing to be with what is attributed with the dead, because the dead, there is not power for it, therefore it cannot last’.
He said, ‘From where are they saying that the things are eternal?’
      He (a) said,
‘These are words of a people who are rejecting management of the things, so they are belying the Messengers and their words, and the Prophets (a) and what they have informed on His behalf and named their books as ‘stories of the former ones’, and they placed a religion for themselves with their own opinions.
And their approbation is that the things point upon their occurrences from rotations of the spheres with whatever is in it, and these are seven spheres, and the earth and the ones upon it are moving, and the turning of the times, and interchanging of the time, and the newly occurring events which occur in the world, from the increase and the decrease, and death, and afflictions, and the restlessness of the soul to the calmness, (point) that there is a Maker for it and a manager. Can’t you see the sweet becoming sour, and the sweet (becoming) bitter, and the new (becoming) decayed, and all are to change and perishing?
And he (the narrator) continued the Hadeeth until he said,
      ‘The atheist said,
‘And the one who claims that Allah did not cease to be and with Him was harmful clay. So He could not Separate from it except by mixing it with it and inserting it into it. So, from that clay, He Created the things’
      He (a) said,
‘Glory be to Allah! How frustrated is a god who is described as being with the power not being able to separate from the clay! If the clay was alive, eternal, there would be two gods, both ancient. So, they mixed and managed the word from themselves. It that was like that, then from where did the death come, and the annihilation?
And if the clay was dead, so there is no lasting for the dead along with the eternal, the ancient, and the dead is such, the living cannot come from it. These are the words of Al-Daysaniya, the staunchest of the atheists in words’.
Then he (a) said in a place from this Hadeeth,
‘If it was ancient, eternal, it would not change from a state to a state, and the eternal cannot be changed by the days, nor can the annihilation come upon it’’.
      *[Bihar Al Anwaar - V 54 The book of creation - Ch 2 H 53]*
_(The books) ‘Nahj Al-Balagah’, and ‘Al-Ihtijaj’ - In a sermon of Amir Al-Momineen Ali (a),_
‘The One (Allah) His ancientness is evidenced upon by the newly occurrence of His creation, and by the newly-occurrence of His creation upon His existence’ - up to his (a) words,
‘The newly occurrence of the things testify upon His eternality.'
And in another famous sermon (186)
‘The times do not accompany Him nor do the devices behind Him. His existence precedes the times and the non-existence and the beginning of His eternality.'
      Up to his (a) words,
‘The stillness and the movement does not flow upon Him. How can it flow upon Him what He has Flowed and Returns in Him what He had Begun, and how can it occur in Him what He is it’s Occurer? Then His Self would be diverse, and His existence would be in parts, and it would not prevent eternity of its meaning’.
      Up to his (a) words,
‘He Says when He Wants its existence: “Be!” So it comes into being. Not by a voice reverberating nor a call being heard, and rather His Speech, Glorious is He, is a deed from Him He Grew it and Represented it. It did not happen to exist from before that, and had it existed anciently, it would have been a second god.
He cannot be said to have existed after having been non-existent, so the descriptions of the newly occurring events would flow upon Him, nor does there happen to be any gap between it and Him, nor would there be any merit for Him upon it, so the Maker and made would be the same, the Initiator and the initiated would be a match.
He Created the creature not based upon any prior example from others, and He was not assisted upon their creation by anyone from His creatures, and He Grew the world and Withheld it from without any occupation and Spread it unsettled, and Made it stand without any legs, and Raised it without any pillars, and Fortified it from the bends and the crookedness, Prevented it from the crumbling and splitting.
He Spread its pegs and Struck its barriers, and Swept its springs, and Dug out its valleys. It did not weaken Him what He had Built nor did what He had Strengthened, weaken’.
      Up to his (a) words,
‘He will be the Annihilator of it after its existence, until its existence becomes like lost, and the annihilation of the world after its beginning is not stranger that its growth and its invention’.
      Up to his (a) words,
‘And surely, He the Glorious, after the annihilation of the world, would return to be Alone, there not being anything with Him. Just as He used to be before its beginning, like that He would be after its annihilation, without there being any time, nor place, nor moment, nor era. The terms and the timings would be non-existence during that, and the years and the hours would cease.
So there will be nothing except the One, the Subduer Who, to Him is the destination of entirety of the matters. Without any power from it was the beginning of its creation, and without prevention from it would be its annihilation, and had it any power upon the prevention, its lasting would be permanent.
The Making of something had not obstacle for Him when He Made it, and it did not fatigue Him what He had Formed and Created, and He did not Bring it into being in order to strengthen Authority, nor out of fear from a decline and loss, nor to be assisted by it over an overwhelming adversary, nor to be protected by from an avenging opponent, nor to increase in His Kingdom by it, nor to propagate (boast) to an associate in His association, nor for loneliness which was from Him so He Wanted to be comforted to it.
Then he shall Annihilate it after bringing it into being, not due to any tedium having come upon Him in its upkeep and its administration, nor for any rest to come to Him, nor for a burden of anything from it upon Him. The length of its lasting does not tire Him so He would leave it to the quickness of its annihilation, but He, the Glorious, Manages it with His subtlety, and Withholds it by His Command, and Makes it precise by His
      Power.
Then He will Repeat it after the annihilation from without there being any need from Him to it, nor will anything from it assist Him upon it, nor to exchange from a state of loneliness to a state of comfort, nor from a state of ignorance and blindness to (state of) knowledge and search, nor from poverty and need to richness and abundance, nor from humiliation and weakness to honour and power.'

I just watched this video. While I find this video interesting and informative, there are certain parts of the video that made me squirm and incredibly uncomfortable. I understand that the purpose of the video was to show how a non Muslim man reading Islamic history made his own conclusions about Aishas character, there are some aspects of the book which I really don’t think you should have read and were unnecessary.
The sexual references were quite frankly disgusting and even if you want to prove there is evidence of her being promiscuous, reading aloud sexual references from this fictitious novel was unnecessary. As much as I hate Aisha just hearing those did not sit well with me and I do not believe the prophet would approve of this, because she was still his wife anyway.
To me poisoning the Prophet (saw), waging the war on Imam Ali , her hatred of sayeda Fatima and the Ahlulbayt should be sufficient for us to hate Aisha as they are the worst crimes to ever be committed. Anything extra is unnecessary and will not convince anything to anyone who already has a liking to her or already dislikes her.
This is my honest opinion. I Have watched a few videos from Rafida and have really liked them but this one just didn’t sit too well with me.

@may2001 I agree, some of the content was very explicit and shocking. However, I feel that the aim of this video was actually to shock people severely and in tern stimulate them to go and research these matters for themselves. Of course this can be dangerous and it often worsens sectarian tensions, but I do believe there were cases of people converting from Sunni to Shia Islam after hearing such shocking things and attempting to refute them through historical research but instead finding that they were undeniably true. I converted from Sunni to Twelver Shia Islam in 2015 through independent research sparked by curiosity. However, in my case it was listening to respectful discussions and lectures bye Shia speakers that by the mercy of Allah lead me to convert. I think in most cases, respectful and academic criticism is much better than insults and shaming when putting across our narrative to our fellow Muslims.

      @May-mp9vw 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Alhamdulillah for your conversion to Shia Islam. That is great you had an open mind to research and go further and find the answers you needed. This video had some great academic discussion about the character of Aisha, although I just felt some content was unnecessary. I certainly don’t think this video will be accepted by people who have been raised to hold Aisha in high esteem their whole life. But I guess if some people felt shocked at the content it may get them to
      Further investigate InshaAllah.

Interesting that your sensibilities are disturbed. Explicit female sexual details offend you more than murdering the Prophet.
Perhaps some of these people are not worthy of respect considering their crimes and obvious abhorrent character and yet here you are squirming and being offended. The Prophet with his 11 wives and going through them in one night like a dose of salts without bathing once and all his sex slaves and slave booty and marrying a 6 yr old doesn’t make you squirm as much as Aisha’s “lewd”behaviour just because she was the wife of your Prophet. They say that a woman behaviour reflects that of her mate. “ The male beast always finds the female beast”The truth is the truth whether it makes your stomach turn or not. If she wasn’t the Prophet’s wife you wouldn’t give two figs. Decency towards woman in Islamis absent they should not be seen or heard so I guess this Aisha person is quite an anathema to you. Women are as evil as men but men are more heinous because they have more power. The Caliphs spread corruption in the land and they were power hungry murdering Imam Hussain as he prayed with such disgusting brutality and the sacking pillaging and the rape of 1000 women in Medina is not worthy of your comment . so what if a female learned much from her master. Unrestrained sexual appetite in Muslim men is abhorrent, unspiriritual and disgusting inspired by the Celestial Pornographic orgies involving 72 Sex dolls promised to men in heaven. Your sexist hypocrisy is obvious to all.

Regardless of the differences between Shia and Sunni narratives and beliefs, what does this say about the prophet of Islam? The most troubling part of this narrative is that one cannot ignore the possibility that the prophet was at least a lousy judge of character to marry this supposedly evil woman and spend the rest of his life with her. Not only that, but to surround himself with not one but a group of close companions who obviously did not believe in him or his message and conspired against him and assassinated him. How gullible, misguided and fallible could he be? How can Mohammed not see through the evil around him if he was truly filled with the light of Allah? How could God not guide him and reveal to him the evils of those closest to him? This narrative forces us to either question the veracity of the narratives of both Sunni and Shia Islam or question the prophet himself.

Khaled Amalki. Aisha was married to Jubayr ibn Mutim ibn Adi, and was divorced when her father Abu Bakr ibn Abi Qahafa decided to convert to Islam. She was divorced aged in her twenties and brought to the Prophet as a woman who had suffered due to her father's conversion. [She was not 6 or 9 years old as according to ibn Katheer, for no child was born aged minus 13 years].
To be fair to the Prophet of Islam, he did warn the ummah when he pointed to Aisha's hut as the source of the Devil's horn, but fell short of divorcing her. Her second marriage was not consummated and planned to marry Talha ibn Ubaydullah after the Prophet had died. But her plan was demolished with the Quran prohibiting wives of the Prophet to re-marry.
Academics do concede that history of Islam would have been terror-free if she had been divorced and allowed to marry Talha ibn Ubaydullah, and her sexual frustrations would have made her far less promiscuous. She never gave up on Talha, and after inciting the ummah to "Kill Na'thal (Uthman ibn Affan ) for he has become a kaafir", after the latter refused to restore her allowance, and was angry when she learned that Uthman had been killed but the people of Madina had not opted for Talha. She then waged war against Ali bn Abi Talib.

I see where you are coming from but marriage in medieval Arabia, it was a common practise among tribes as a means of cementing bonds. For 1 man to found a religion that went on to become one of the largest in the world (where he actually governed over followers) in a short period was inconceivable. In the early days in particular it was miraculous that the religion survived because it was unsettling to the other established religious communities, the Pagans, Jews & Gnostic Christians. Islam was under threat from the beginning, it was therefore necessary to make firm alliances with tribal stalwarts. Many of the companions coveted the marriage of Fatima and had come forth with proposals but they were rejected, a* suitable consolation was to take their daughters*. In addition, it’s not about a poor judge of character but rather a refusal to intervene in free will. When you take an objective look into the faith, these “mistakes” in history have been necessary to see the truth of what transpired.

      Aisha's Life with Muhammad
      Aisha's Behavior in Muhammad's Harem
Was she a good wife in Muhammad’s harem? Given that she was by far the most rebellious among the wives, the answer is an emphatic 'no'. Islamic sources attest that Aisha remained as an immature child in Muhammad’s harem.
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: that 'Umar entered upon Hafsa and said, "O my daughter! Do not be misled by the manners of her who is proud of her beauty because of the love of Allah's Apostle for her." By 'her' he meant Ayesha. Omar added, "Then I told that to Allah's Apostle and he smiled (on hearing that)".
      Sahih Bukhari 7:62:145
'Umar, the second Caliph of Islam, testified about the "perfect Mother of Believers's" bad mannerisms in a sahih hadith, warning his daughter to not be misled by her.
Islamic sources also tell us that there was much fighting within Muhammad’s harem. The wives were divided into two groups with Aisha in control of one.
Narrated 'Urwa from 'Aisha: The wives of Allah's Apostle were in two groups. One group consisted of 'Aisha, Hafsa, Safiyya and Sauda; and the other group consisted of Um Salama and the other wives of Allah's Apostle...
      Sahih Bukhari 3:47:755
Was Aisha happy with Muhammad’s wife-collecting spree? Again, no, she was not. When made privy of Muhammad intentions of making a further addition to his harem in the form of Zainab bint Jahsh, his paternal cousin[1] and his son-in-law’s wife, Aisha exploded. This frantic outburst even warranting an intervention from Muhammad’s alter-ego, Allah, with holy verses.
Narrated Aisha: I used to look down upon those ladies who had given themselves to Allah's Apostle and I used to say, "Can a lady give herself (to a man)?" But when Allah revealed: "You (O Muhammad) can postpone (the turn of) whom you will of them (your wives), and you may receive any of them whom you will; and there is no blame on you if you invite one whose turn you have set aside (temporarily)." (33.51) I said (to the Prophet), "I feel that your Lord hastens in fulfilling your wishes and desires."
      Sahih Bukhari 6:60:311
The truth is, she was never happy with Muhammad, and their marriage was far from being a match made in heaven. We have Sahih sources which confirm this. In one Bukhari hadith, she recalls how she "disliked to face him."
Narrated 'Aisha:....I saw the Prophet praying while I used to lie in my bed between him and the Qibla. Whenever I was in need of something, I would slip away for I disliked to face him."
      Sahih Bukhari 1:9:490
She once went so far as to plot against Muhammad, and by extension, this can be construed as a plot against Islam itself.
Narrated Ibn Abbas: I intended to ask 'Umar so I said, "Who were those two ladies who tried to back each other against the Prophet?" I hardly finished my speech when he said, "They were 'Aisha and Hafsa."
      Sahih Bukhari 6:60:436
So, even during Muhammad's lifetime Aisha was subversive towards Islam and she, along with Hafsa, rose up against him. Once again, Allah, the alter-ego of Muhammad, had to intervene with verses to fix the problem. We find these verses in the Qur'anic chapter At-Tahrim.[2]
      Aisha's Attitude Towards Muhammad
So far we have looked at Islamic sources and how they reflect on Aisha but, if we take a careful look at the ahadith that Aisha narrated, the nature and content of many of them are derogatory towards Islam, and very often she is found mocking and belittling her husband. This is not merely propaganda but a fact which anyone with an impartial outlook can confirm for themselves.
Here are just a few examples:
Aisha said Muhammad was affected with magic, and black magic is considered to be the devil’s doing, thereby she is in fact proclaiming he was under the influence of the devil. Muhammad had lost all sense of reality and acted quite bizarrely. This has been recorded in many places. In Sahih Bukhari alone, it appears six times.[3][4][5][6][7][8] Muhammad, the final Messenger of Allah, being controlled by the devil. This, from the lips of the Mother of Believers.
She also created the impression of a very forgetful and clumsy Muhammad.
Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet heard a man (reciting Quran) in the Mosque, and he said, "May Allah bestow His Mercy upon him. No doubt, he made me remember such-and such Verses of such-and-such Sura which I dropped (from my memory)...
      Sahih Bukhari 3:48:823
She disclosed things which Muhammad had told her in private.
Narrated Aswad: Ibn Az-Zubair said to me, "Aisha used to tell you secretly a number of things. What did she tell you about the Ka'ba?" I replied, "She told me that once the Prophet said, 'O 'Aisha! Had not your people been still close to the pre-Islamic period of ignorance (infidelity)! I would have dismantled the Ka'ba and would have made two doors in it; one for entrance and the other for exit." Later on Ibn Az-Zubair did the same.
      Sahih Bukhari 1:3:128
And she betrayed Muhammad’s private affairs.
Narrated 'Urwa from 'Aisha: The wives of Allah's Apostle were in two groups. One group consisted of 'Aisha, Hafsa, Safiyya and Sauda; and the other group consisted of Um Salama and the other wives of Allah's Apostle. The Muslims knew that Allah's Apostle loved 'Aisha, so if any of them had a gift and wished to give to Allah's Apostle, he would delay it, till Allah's Apostle had come to 'Aisha's home and then he would send his gift to Allah's Apostle in her home. The group of Um Salama discussed the matter together and decided that Um Salama should request Allah's Apostle to tell the people to send their gifts to him in whatever wife's house he was. Um Salama told Allah's Apostle of what they had said, but he did not reply. Then they (those wives) asked Um Salama about it. She said, "He did not say anything to me." They asked her to talk to him again. She talked to him again when she met him on her day, but he gave no reply. When they asked her, she replied that he had given no reply. They said to her, "Talk to him till he gives you a reply." When it was her turn, she talked to him again. He then said to her, "Do not hurt me regarding Aisha, as the Divine Inspirations do not come to me on any of the beds except that of Aisha." On that Um Salama said, "I repent to Allah for hurting you." Then the group of Um Salama called Fatima, the daughter of Allah's Apostle and sent her to Allah's Apostle to say to him, "Your wives request to treat them and the daughter of Abu Bakr on equal terms." Then Fatima conveyed the message to him. The Prophet said, "O my daughter! Don't you love whom I love?" She replied in the affirmative and returned and told them of the situation. They requested her to go to him again but she refused. They then sent Zainab bint Jahsh who went to him and used harsh words saying, "Your wives request you to treat them and the daughter of Ibn Abu Quhafa on equal terms." On that she raised her voice and abused 'Aisha to her face so much so that Allah's Apostle looked at 'Aisha to see whether she would retort. 'Aisha started replying to Zainab till she silenced her. The Prophet then looked at 'Aisha and said, "She is really the daughter of Abu Bakr."
      Sahih Bukhari 3:47:755
Negative Views of Aisha Among the Ummah
When all is said and done, it is very hard to believe that Aisha was in fact a true Muslim. There is little wonder that most Shi'ites view her with contempt. They are treating her memory in accordance to her merits in Islam.
Yes, it may come as a surprise to many but 1/10th of the world's Muslim population considers Aisha as not being a true Muslim, not in the absolute sense of the word.
Due to her (Aisha’s) actions against Imam Ali during the times of the Prophet and after his death (including the famous battle of the Camel), the followers of the ahl al-bayt are not encouraged to keep her name for their children.
      Al-Islam
The Shi'ite cleric, Shaykh Yasser Al-Habib, has also accused Aisha, along with Hafsa, of being responsible for the poisoning and death of Muhammad.[9]
      Aisha's Hatred of Ali
Ali, Muhammad's son-in-law, once suggested for him to divorce Aisha when she had become involved in a scandalous affair with a man named Safwan; and there is evidence in Islam’s authentic sources which affirm that Aisha kept hold of her vengeful hatred towards Ali for the rest of her life. So much so, she could barely bring herself to mention him by name.
Narrated 'Aisha: "When the Prophet became seriously ill and his disease became aggravated he asked for permission from his wives to be nursed in my house and he was allowed. He came out with the help of two men and his legs were dragging on the ground. He was between Al-Abbas and another man." 'Ubaid Ullah said, "I told Ibn 'Abbas what 'Aisha had narrated and he said, 'Do you know who was the (second) man whose name 'Aisha did not mention'" I said, 'No.' Ibn 'Abbas said, 'He was 'Ali Ibn Abi Talib.' "
      Sahih Bukhari 1:11:634
Furthermore, the troubled state-of-mind of this young woman led to the first civil war in Islamic history caused by a woman. She led an army against Ali, the fourth elected Caliph of the Muslims. Her actions ultimately caused the death of twenty thousand Muslims in the war now known in history as the “Battle of the Camel”.

I have read this book many times, I don't think what you said is correct about exposing Ayisha. The book is perspective based not exposing Ayisha rather than taking it from what people seen or heard based on the interaction. Most importantly the respect is kept by Imam Ali (AS) toward Ayisha even though there was bad blood between them because of relationship of Ayisha and Prophet(PBUH). either way I highly recommend the book.

Fyi, wives of other prophets have been condemned to hell as told to us in the Quran. So be careful to not use that wife relationship as a scapegoat to protect her character. Let's take an unbiased look at her character and really determine if she is trustworthy or not. And then we can accept the hadiths that she relays to us or reject them according to our findings.
