I remember one season back in either’81 or ‘82 dad rented a 2870 for spring seeding. On our farm the biggest tractor was a JD 5010 so that Case 2870 was just incredible, crazy power too, pulled a 24’ deep tiller like it was nothing. Good luck with seeding this year, must be the extra carbon tax we’re all paying causing the cool wet weather 🙄
Yeah I don’t imagine 24ft of deep till would be a load for it, I could see 35ft deep till being a better match. It’s been pretty cool and wet the last little while for sure
Great video and nice tractor! I was checking out some of your other videos and seen we upgraded from the same drill to the same one you got now haha, we had a 40 foot 5700 and 3225 tank and upgraded to a 47 foot 5710 with a 5350 tank, should be a nice upgrade! Hope everything continues to go well for you!
I agree . I ran a 2470 and own a 1070 still.. they are slow bandits in the dirt. Pulling monsters though. The powershift can be jumpy.. everything is hydro . Sucks sometimes. I fought with them. You get pressures right and they shift smooth . I got 6000 hrs on our 1971 1070. It's a dream to operate
Good looking and running old case. Im located in southwestern ontario and we have been having lots of rain delays also getring the crops in. I have a good friend farming by kamsask and they are dealing with rain delays also.
I remember when the 2870 came out. Dad was working for Case in North battleford at the time and they unveiled/demoed it at Kindersley. I cannot remember the width of the cultivator they were pulling with it but it was huge. That tractor pulled it around and they could not lug it enough to make it smoke. I still have a 2870 belt buckle from that day.
would you please send type of light bar your using and where i might look at one. like to have for my tractor for fertilizing, thank you, great tractor and video!
Great Video, When I was a boy, (i'm 67 tomorrow) I had booklets with this tractors predecessors in them model numbers I remember are 1470, thanks for sharing
The ol case looks good! I miss the 2670 we had.. i like the steering handle, newer ones were electronic. Just one more thing to not work then.. Freaking dealers being lazy and not doing what they are being paid to do!!! Hopefully you can get everything working and everything planted!!
Thanks! That’s why I bought a 2870 instead of 4890/4894- the electric over hydraulic steering issues that plague them. I started seeding yesterday afternoon finally!
@@NorthEastSaskFarmer I loved the crab steer for seeding in the hills, just swing the back up or down the hill to keep on the same lines. Hopefully the meetering on the drill is working properly now!
Good luck seeding your 2024 crops
Thank you !!

Great video, really enjoyed it. Nice seeing that older iron working and doing well. Good luck with your seeding .
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks! I appreciate that !

Thank you! 5700s are rare, it’s neat that you had one! Appreciate it! Should be seeding later today

Thank you! Took a lot of work and money to get it to where it’s at today. It was pretty rough when I first bought it
That's one sweet tractor. Sucks what the dealer did to you. Hope seeding goes well for ya
Thank you! Yeah it’s unfortunate, sure hope I’m seeding tomorrow. Thanks!
Nice video, watching from Kindersley Sask, finally raining here this spring as well
Thanks! Rain here again in a couple days it sounds like
Nice Case tractor hope you can seed soon !
Thank you, and I hope to today !
Always park tractor with front wheels turned, if it looses fuel prime, you can get to primer pump. Don't ask how I know!!!
Those bigger tires and wide spacer should be a significant improvement over the short wide tires most of them had
I completely agree
The old case looks good with white rims 👌. Hopefully you can get your drill working. How much are you putting in this year?
@@NorthEastSaskFarmer wow. You expanded!
@@jeremycherny2041 doubled the farm!

Very cool!
I would suggest getting a better quality camera so we can see the details. Otherwise nice to see another Canadian farmer on TH-cam.
It was my computer that downgraded the quality to not take 2 hours to upload, a rather unfortunate thing
Get some of that Elon starlink, fix the slow internet issues.

I don’t have any light bars on my equipment, but I like “tiger lights”
Thank you though!
Did you mean gps? It’s an older outback S2
👍
Nice looking 2870 case tractor
Thank you! I’m quite fond of the white rims on it myself
Great video. I've been on the fence about fixing my 4690, but this video kind of inspired me.
Thank you sir! May as well!
Fantastic video! I have a Case 2670.. I completely agree with you about shifting at a lower RPM…
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 4690 you mean? Maybe 2670?
nice tractor that old Saab engine sounds good
Thank you! It’s actually an 11L scania and yeah, it’s pretty healthy sounding
Saab-Scania...found one wore-out in Wyalong NSW, Australia
Great video
Thank you! I always appreciate the positive feedback
Always great to see a Traction King.
It’s pretty cool to have such a prominent TH-cam channel (such as yours) see my little channel. Thanks for watching!
Are the fans too small on the tank or are the fans not going fast enough
Not going fast enough, was recently determined to be the fault of a weak hydraulic pump on the tractor and weak fan motor on the air tank
Great Video, When I was a boy, (i'm 67 tomorrow) I had booklets with this tractors predecessors in them model numbers I remember are 1470, thanks for sharing
Thanks! I almost bought a 1470 recently actually
Neighbor has a 4890, it's a brute, starts like no other, below zero pops off like 70 degrees!!
They are very good engines!

Great looking tractor best wishes from the uk
Thanks 👍
Ran a 2670 for a guy a couple years. Good tough tractors. Like the crab steering for terrace work.
I may have a 2470 in my yard next year. A friend of mine who I have hired for next spring is willing to bring his family’s old 2470 with him
What is the closest town to you?
Closest center anyone would know about is Melfort
