@@NickFellows Not even debatable. It's not even close. For example the Sam Coupe had 12,000 produced compared to the 664's 50,000. And there's stuff rarer than the Sam.
Oh?! Fascinating, then my friend back in the 80s had the 664 and not what I recall the 6128, because I do remember those big cursor keys distinctively. I lived a while with them and during those couple of month, my friend, his older brother and I wrote a game in Basic. Which btw is a great basic on the CPC, with lines and circles. So I distinctly remember moving our tiny character with those big cursor keys. I just always thought it was a 6128. Did you own a CPC back in the day? Nicely fixed!
I did own a CPC 464 with a DDI-1 disc drive. I sold my C64 for that ... because of Batman and the better Basic. The basic was awesome! I only had a green monitor but it was better than my 8" b/w TV cassette combo I used on my C64.
@ yes, my friend also had that lively green monitor, it was really a crisp image as I recall. The only thing that disappointed me was the sound, that was nowhere near commodore standards. But other than that I recall, that we had good fun on the Schneider.

The CPC 664 is uncommon, but hardly rare, and there are HEAPS of rarer 8 bit computers - it is not even close. Try finding an MSX Turbo R, or a Commodore Max, a Jupiter Ace a Sam Coupe etc etc - all of these systems are rarer 8 bit computers and there are MANY more.
I remember these from back in the day. You can replace that 3 inch drive with a Gotek (as I'm sure you know). I am surprised to see a QWERTY keyboard instead of a QWERTZ. Bravo on the drive repair though. Tschüss
@ I know, QWERTZ is the devil’s keyboard layout 😉Because my name becomes Raz every time I use one. Frustrating as hell 😉My parents lived in the German speaking part of Belgium and also had aQWERTZ keyboard, what a nightmare. The only person who had no trouble with it was my mum. I guess that having been a typist also means you can adopt very easily. My dad, my little brother when he came to Belgium’s after Katrina wiped his research away for months and I were always frustrated with it, it’s a cruel joke on people for sure 😆 Btw you lived 7 years in Germany?! What did you do to deserve such a hard sentence? 😜You get less in Kiers Starmers UK these days for breaking a cop’s nose or being released early for robberies and such heinous crimes 🙁 I love Germany although I’ve not lived there, I do speak German decently (after reform at high school because my German was Tirolerisch) because my cousins are Austrian and as toddler we would spend summers in Tirol. Was fun when a few years back I worked for E-ON and the German colleagues often would discuss things on German amongst themselves before coming back in English. And at a certain point I said: “Wir koennen (sorry no umlauts here) es auch in Deutsch besprechen, mir machts (mochts) nicht (nit) aus”. Because those two spoke Bayerisch and that’s very close to Tirolerisch. And ther were like: “you speak Bayerisch?! Now you tell us! We’ve been translating everything we wanted to say from Bayerisch to German and then to English for 4 weeks 🤣That joke had me cracking up. So I did explain to them that parts of their discussion in that dialect were hard to understand but with the context I could understand all their discussions. Then the engineer said: “Of course the Dutch speak Bayerisch, with all that time our grandparents spend in Holland in the 40s.” 🤣😆🤣And they say the Germans have no humor. It must be some Germans I haven’t met yet. Because I always have a great time working and visiting Germans. As well as you bloody islanders, I adore you guys too. But I lived two years in the UK 83-84 and 2002-2003 when I worked for BetFair when it was still basically a startup.
It is debatable whether this is the rarest 8 bit computer. But still a very nice example.

Very nice version of the 664 :-) I have 2 of the 'regular' machines with the blue keys, but your machine looks great.
i am a sucker for rare and obscure hardware...very cool machine ..rare .expensive ..and the design is awesome...i like the curves on it..nice
With about 50,000 produced, it is not the rarest 8 bit computer by far.

Interesting machine. But why are the cursor keys on the top? who thought that was a good idea? ^_^

@@JimWood28 QWERTY was the way that Gott intended it 😉
@@CallousCoder German Amigas had QWERTZ. (I'm British but lived in Germany for 7 years).

Sounds like a candy wrapper stuck on your mic
The mic was scratching over my shirt for a while. Sorry!
Not even close to being the rarest. The SAM Coupe shipped around 12,000 units for starters. The Jupiter Ace did about 5,000....
