Looking back at my life the rappers that were highly influential for me were Eazy-E, Master P, Brotha Lynch Hung and Tech N9ne. What do they all have in common? Dave Weiner. Dope interview Big Court.

Dave is the heart of everything hip hop. This man deserves his credits. This man has done so much work with and on the biggest artists that are legends. Give this man respect. Dave is the man who helped build empires of hip hop and is extremely knowledgeable on everything in the background of things. Dave is the shit and he deserves his flowers.

Excellent interview Court. I worked closely with Jo at the Music People and Walter and City Hall ordering and bringing in artists at 7th Heaven in KC. I met Dave once back then and he was super cool.

This goes to show that some people don’t need to be in certain type businesses. How you want to start a label but not listen to the people around you who are trying to bring talent aka money to your label🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾
I’m glad they did stuff behind dudes back to get people and labels signed. The world could have potentially lost out on a lot of the dope albums and artists that we all grew up listening to.

    I love revisiting this interview.
I have 1 TRILLION DOLLAR QUESTION for Mr. Dave Weiner & Mr. Bryan Turner. In 1992, Bryan Turner, Jerry Heller & Eric “Eazy-E” Wright… all 3 were sitting in Priority Records Office doing an interview for the entertainment magazine “Variety”.
The reason for the interview was to proudly announce the upcoming Double Album by Eazy-E named at that time in 1992 “TEMPORARY INSANITY”.
Bryan Turner had his own personal copy of the album (either tape or CD) and Turner was bragging to the interviewer how this Double Album will change the music industry. The album was of course DR. DRE ALREADY PRODUCED A HANDFUL OF TRACKS (legend says, LET ME RIDE that Dre released on The Chronic was already recorded by Eazy, The D.O.C. personally said he wrote that entire song in Eazy’s voice and cadence, go listen to the song now and you can definitely hear The DOC writing that for Eazy, Dre rapping on the Chronic version sounds just like how Eazy would have laid down those lyrics)!!!
Back to Temporary Insanity, Bryan Turner said the double album has 30 plus amazing tracks that sampled and used different themes and more of a Horror Movie Music Soundtrack. The rest of the tracks were said to be of course YELLA, RHYTHM D, DR JAM & MADDNESS 4 REAL,NAUGHTY BY NATURE, DJ UNEEK & TONY C.
I want to know if David Weiner got the privilege to hear the entire double album?
And where is the copy Bryan Turner had? Did he keep it?
I’m assuming Priority mastered the album and preparing to start pressing up copies.
Bryan or David needs to find a copy of that Eazy E album and send it directly to Tomica Wright & Ruthless Records because us fans need those unreleased unheard songs with their original production and music!!!

I'm a huge Strange Music fan, to the point I've got the logo tattooed on me. But these last few years have been very lackluster coming from Strange. Interesting to hear Dave is no longer working with them. Perhaps that contributed to the vibe change in recent years. Outside of Tech and Iso, Strange isn't really moving me these days. It's still the snake & bat for life though!

    Incredible Amazing Interview.
I’ve wanted to hear David’s Stories for YEARS!!!
Only thing I disagree is Lynch coming to Strange.
The music & production was absolute garbage.
Lynch should have been able to produce all 3 albums himself.
