There's a sort of dry, warm quality to it. I think it's best highlighted when you listen to the differences between Mutya and Amelle singing Follow Me Home. Mutya's version sounds warm, whereas Amelle's sounds cool.

I didn't realise it at the time but looking back, 2003/4 was actually full of really nice emotional pop songs like this. Maybe it was the last year before X-factor and internet streaming started to kill off good quality pop music for good? Very few can match this level of lyrical and composition quality today. I hope emotional ballads like this make a comeback some day soon.

I think they were all so beautifullll...Keisha has this cute baby face, Heidi has this gorgeous "model chic" look and Mutya is lovely. She has her unique style,fashion and personality and is really really nice. She has an incredible voice-deep and husky,Keisha has that candy voice-really cute and Heidi has a sultry sweet voice....And this song to me is one of their best and I think they were underrated.I love this group-I honestly didn't know about them until I came across them on TH-cam recently---They deserved more popularity with their music....btw I loved at 0:37-0:40 when Mutya sang,"...so take me in your arms". This song is very romantic yet it's not very nude-love this song. I wish I would have known of them before now ☺️. They were great!

The classic lineup, they are all so beautiful and have a harmony that will be hard to match.
Mutya does a beautiful job with tone and melody here.
A lot of people have commented on a "look" that Mutya gives Heidi in this video. Personally, I think that's just how Mutya is. She often looked as if she was giving people a death stare - it was part of her charm. I doubt she actually was.
2022 this song i love because i used sing it to my husband of 28yrs i woke up one morning and he had died, it will always be a song that brings back so many memories, i was lucky to have found him RIP mickyxx and the sugerbabes were fantastic classy and beautiful and could sing/ we all have our time to shinex
The "uuuuuh" part beginning at 03:24 is the best proof for absolutely voice harmony. never heard 3 voices fit that perfect as it does between keysha, heidi & mutya

@@manuelaferreira8403 I heard her sing on many occasions when falling in for an absent member. She was then phenomenal. I think she is kind of shy and felt too much pressure to perform between two excellent singers. Some people have that issue.. but that doesn't mean they can't sing under the right circumstances. You are too quick with your judgement.

These will always be the original sugababes for me, they were cool without being tarty, they sang songs that empowered young working class girls that we can do better and to strive for more and that we can fall in love with someone special. with there songs. Mutya is the reason the band were any good her voice is amazing!!
Mutya has the voice that gives an edgy sound to their songs, not just with her solo parts but also in the harmonies she's very prominent. Her tone is distinctive, warm, unique. She's the heart and Soul in the group. They're nothing without her.

She shone because of how the voices of Keisha and Siobhan/Heidi blend with and contrast against hers. Her voice is definitely the core of the group, but the way Keisha and hers blend *made* that signature Sugababes sound. Heidi’s provided that contrast, almost like a palate cleanser.
I used to only like when Mutya sang, way back then. Had love for Keisha after while, especially after realising how she always killed the ad libs, or parts that I initially thought were Mutya. Heidi took the longest to draw me in, seeing as how she’s got the most basic singing voice and style.

I hate when people say this. They still made good music after her departure, and they still sounded good because Keisha and Heidi can sing. My favourite lineup has always been 2.0 (Keisha, Mutya & Heidi) but even I enjoyed what they had to offer on Change and Catfights and Spotlights (for the most part). Note your claim that Mutya was the reason Sugababes was any good when it REALLY went to shit once Keisha was gone. That tells you everything you need to know. It's not Sugababes without Keisha AND Mutya. Period.

Love the sugababes from day 1 to the end know Heidi wasn't an original but that was my favourite group obviously with the originals of Mutya and Keisha. Many years later and its still brilliant. In Top 10 of English bands.

Each sucessive member has had a distinct identity and brought something fresh. Makes you look forward to the next time they get pissy with each other. Hope we haven't seen the last line-up.
