Fell in love to this song about the time this was recorded. Still married 48 years plus later. But she is a horrible selfish woman. First time I have heard this version, recorded so close to when he and Bernie wrote it. The best I have heard. Saw him play a half dozen times the last 45 years. Never played this.
"Nigel’s drumming shines on this show, and the Muscle Shoals Horns are a great touch as well" Wait a minute. The Muscle Shoals Horns?! I watched a documentary once about FAME Studios and the nearby Muscle Shoals Sound Studio. It was from 2013 and aptly titled "Muscle Shoals.", but it was about their involvement with artists like Aretha Franklin, etc. And by their I mean the Rhythm section aka The Swampers. And you're telling me the horn players worked with Elton freaking John?! Never knew that before.
Amazing he didn't play this gem more.. such a beautiful melody.
It's an awesome song!
There's a recent live version on TH-cam! Search.
