    The distorted suns are probably due to lens flares, halos, and overexposure in the training data. Since the fact the sun is in direct view of the lens these distortions are on virtually every photo ever, so the model overfits to a distorted blob. This also explains the extra bright points in the sky, since lens flares are just extra bounces of the sun, so their HDR values are probably fairly high too

    Dude thank you so much! You have been recommending amazing tools lately, from VR sculpting to this. I can't thank you enough for sharing these amazing tools that I am now able to add to my toolset.

    6:06 Oh, no! Somebody left "Star Wars: A New Hope" in the training data folder.

    the argument that its safe to use because its not using peoples copywirtten art is flawed because you can also copyright photographic picture. also - i think you don't need the sun object since the hdri should be doing that for you

      I think what he meant is that nvidia trained it on material they have the rights to

      The whole “much copyright” argument against ai was stupid regardless lol

      @@chokabitch9342 genuine question, why? I think copyright is a very good argument depending on the stuff people are using. (Atleast when talking about digital paintings)

    Fun fact there's is actually an add-on for blender called hdri sun aligner that does just that rotating the sun object to match with the hdri

    Nice. You answered my question I had in my head if it actually outputs proper EXR with full dynamic range. It's a little weird to have glowing objects that would not be that bright in reality. But I guess it kind of works. There used to be a tool to autoalign the scene sun to the brightest spot in the hdri but development stopped in 2019 :/

      Nature only at the moment. Sea, sand, snow, etc.

  • @JohannesSkolaude

    You can also import your own Images for other Landscape Styles. If they haven't removed the Feature in this Version

    Im pretty sure this steals data from photographers..

    • @BoroCG
      @BoroCG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why are you pretty sure? Adobe, for instance, is using the images they have the rights to use from their Adobe Stock library. NVidia has smart lawyers and a lot to lose, so they would most certainly use similar approach. They're not some startup that moves fast and breaks things to get any media coverage

    • @GalaxColor

      @@BoroCG I'm just saying because of the current flow of unethical usage of data that is happening such as OpenAI and StabilityAI 's programs

    • @Tolredan
      @Tolredan ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GalaxColor so you're not actually sure at all. remember the 90/10 rule. just because 90% of something is shit and uses awful practices doesn't mean that 100% does. this is nvidia we're talking about, they have their own libraries to pull from. they're partnered with epic and epic has the entire quixel library and all their licensed hdri's to pull from.

    • @GalaxColor
      @GalaxColor ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Killian Hart Epic has already proven to support unethical training of data in the past, but then changed their minds after the current lawsuits against OpenAI and StabilityAI. Additionally, Adobe is also a large company and guess what - they used their audiences data without any announcement and permission to make their newest ai based product.
