Good thing you bought both of them because one would be lonely.

Aww they are so adorable but I recommend getting a bigger cage and do research on things you need for them. And yes I know cages can be expensive but you could also get one second hand. I also recommend you get some foraging toys, hammocks, and climbing things for them like ropes.Give them some a free roam area too so they are not in the cage for the rest of their lives.I’m a month late also sooo uhh..yeah😅
    I hope this helps❤

Oof. My guy you have to get a better cage for them. One without a wire bottom ( their feet can get stuck and break ) and a lot bigger. Also they need way more chews :) their teeth never stop growing and can be dangerous. Remember, they’re really smart and need good stimulation

Honestly, it's not the size of the cage that is the problem here, it's the design. You are absolutely right because 'Bumble-foot' is a very real problem here.

What cuties! May I make a few suggestions before you know it your sweet girls will be bigger and need a much larger cage I know in generally cages can be pricey but your girls will need one even a single critter nation will be ok for two rats but s sending if you wanna get more rats I believe for a single critter nation you can house 5 sometimes Facebook market place has some for sale. But in the mean time you can take the level out of the cage not only their toes can get caught but won't cause sores on their sensitive feet. You can even go to ththe dollar tree or maybe Ross dress for less and get dog rope toys. The tube you have in the cage maybe I would suggest taking the stuffing out the fibers are tiny and can wrap around their little feet and tangle and cut off blood flow and they can lose a toe. Most pet shops will feed block food but I would try seeds mix there are tons of videos on showing how you can make some and try scatter feeding and finding food in a paper roll or a foraging toy for enrichment since rats are smart. If you do decision me to continue to get maybe get one or two more that way one of the rats won't be alone. Please I don't mean to come off as be Ng harsh just some helpful tips my original group of rats I had 6 girls they have past on and my breeder moved to a different state 4-5yrs past and a new breeder popped up and now I currently have 10 four girls and six boys. Enjoy you girls they are cuties
