Drawing can be broken down into a series of smaller skills. The artists you like are just people that have taken time to painstakingly learn each of those skills. Even the skill of sharpening a pencil is something that can take a while to learn. None of the skills come easy, but they are all doable.
If you are willing to take the time to learn each of the sub-skills that go into drawing, overcome the hurdles and self-doubt, then you will be able to draw as well as anybody.
In this video, I describe that learning process by explaining which skills were used in these drawings and when I learned them.

I still want to say once more: so thankful I signed up Study Group. Learning from the right source and teacher is just tremendous. Everything you mentioned in this video is echoing so much of my own journey (of course mine is not be as extensive and long as yours). It's so efficient and great - learning from you.

Another great video, Kenzo! I would love to see you do a new video (or multiple videos?) on your shape/shape design journey. I know you said it's ongoing, but it would be really interesting to learn how you got to where you're at now: )

So I've done a live figure drawing today and I literally draw all the tummy folds like you described! What you just said about the abstract shapes just blew my mind! :D thank you!

that's great! Yeah don't worry everyone does that, we are wired to see details instead of big shapes, but we can rewire our brains

Maybe someone can answer this at 17.08 when he shows the digital tools, is that coloured drawing done digitally? or is a handdone pastel ? Difficult to tell. Can someone please let me know

I think maybe starting with a gesture line is better than starting with a specific body part. So you can start with the head after you’ve done the gesture line for example. This is how I do it at least
