    I love seeing these videos not just for the cars, but also to see what Zimbabwe looks like! The area between Harare and Marondera looks a like the North Bay Area (Nape and Sonoma County) of California!

    Good Job!👍👍👍 These cars will soon take over Africa because of the ease of "fueling" I have 2012 leaf with 150,000 miles on it with 8 bars

    Thank you for yet another great video.
    You have so nice roads - and so clean - don't you have potholes? (I guess you've got less snow problems and tires w spikes than we've got in Norway).
    Btw - input (after driving my Leaf for four years, incl on long trips): I think it gets better range if one is driving in B (instead of D), and in Eco (as u did).
    And when on a flat road (and espec on a bit downhill) I think it works great w using the cruise speed, the Leaf less energy then (but when driving uphill, I think it works best w manual control)

      Thanks. There are may potholes on other roads but not on this highway. The Harare to Mutare Highway was rehabilitated about 10 years ago.

    That’s Leaf speak, I suppose, the battery being down to nine bars ;-)
    When you go for a longish drive, do you ever meet any other EVs on the road?

    • @ElectricDriveAfrica

      We dont meet many EV drivers a few here and there but the numbers are growing slowly at least its a start.

      Yes its Leaf Language lol. The battery is now down to 9 bars from the Original 12 bars

    Great video really love the leaf back in 2019 I was considering getting one but then due to zesa power cuts at that time I got really demotivated and ended up getting a petrol car. Otherwise I think the leaf is wonderful car especially in blue

      The power cuts dont really affect us. Even during the worst case scenario of Load Shedding, Zesa comes back at 10pm and goes at 5am and that is more than enogh time to charge the car over night.

      How much time does it take to fully charge the car and how many kw is your car ?

      @@junioral-amin6486 th-cam.com/video/hvnYHPIjeyU/w-d-xo.html it takes about 4 hours 50 minutes to fully charge

    How much fuel would you have needed for that trip (cost)? And what is that compared to the amount of electricty you used?

    • @ElectricDriveAfrica
      @ElectricDriveAfrica  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We used $2 of electricity and we woukd have needed about $10 of petrol had we been driving a petrol car

    I noticed the battery on your car says 100%. Is a Leaf like a Tesla in how they recommend you charging the battery only to a certain percentage or can you charge it to full every time you charge?

    • @ElectricDriveAfrica
      @ElectricDriveAfrica  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In most cases it's best to charge to 80% most of the time and to 100% every now and then to keep cells in good shape. In this case we needed to travel a longer distance than we do on a Normal day so we charged to 100%

    Now that the bars fall to nine does it mean the distance in range has also go down.I may have one but my main question is what is the cost if replacing the battery and how long does it take to replace the battery from the time of buying such? Anyway I see the leaf as a good deal.

    • @ElectricDriveAfrica
      @ElectricDriveAfrica  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the range has gone gone. There are people offering battery replacements around the world now. Many are now offering better upgrades giving options to get a bigger battery pack such as the 40 kWh and 62 kWh. Where you based? Agreed, the Leaf is still good value.

      Can certainly attest to the Leaf being good for city driving. My parents got one in 2013 too! It's only car I know that in the eight years of my parents driving the Leaf, it has never had to go to the shop for any maintenance. In fact, of every car I have ever had or friends or family, all of them need regular for oil change or something wrong with the engine, but the Leaf, never an issue! The only time the Leaf had to go to the shop was for a software upgrade, only that.
