Hearing Delta sing our anthem at the footy, I have never heard it sung better. I didn’t realise how beautiful her voice really was.and is. Add to the fact that she is one of the best looking ladies I have ever seen walk this earth, well then you have a thing of all round beauty. This is a song that always takes me back to 18 months spent in Sydney from 2003. It became probably my favourite album of the time, and this song is my favourite track. She has the most amazing voice and is one artist I would love to see live.
Somehow, I feel that we all can relate to this song especially when it comes to remembering how good our childhood was, remembering when life was easier, when we didn't have to worry about any problems (the only thing that we were concerned about was to do well in school), and when music was at its peak (90s and 2000s).
I listened to this when i had a ruptured brain aneurysm in may 2020 when i couldn't have family to see me when i was 32 and life changed this inspirational woman and this song helped me lots she also knows what its like to go through chronic illness ive always have and always be a fan xx
Quite possibly the greatest australian female piano & vocal track of my generation. It's such a theatrical classical show topping tune. Epic melodic delivery of a mystical story. Only other contender to compare to are "The Special Two" & "All For Believing" by Missy Higgins. I remember when I was 6-7 years of age listening to this song in my mum's car. Now I'm 23 and I confess this makes me feel very nostalgic of a time where I was a young boy with an innocent outlook of the world. But now I am man with a more or less bitter sweet perspective on life. Though I still have a long way to go this song certainly remains me to enjoy my youth and innocence as long as I have it.

As per the early lyrics to this wonderful song, I also wanted to show my mother I could play the piano. I tried Chopsticks, the introductory music to The Sullivans and an attempt at a piano version of Cold Chisel's 'Saturday Night', upon which mother asked me if I was trying to play music or of I just hated my grandmother's piano so much that I was trying to destroy it. I didn't protest, her sarcasm was undeniably correct. I mean, I could make Beethoven sound like a fart in a building lift complete with suffocating elevator audience. When I was fourteen a friend who was around 9 years old at the time passed away from leukaemia but she loved Delta and this is the song they used for her funeral video, her name was Natasha, even though I didn’t know her that well her death really struck me deep as only a week before her death we visited her in hospital and kept her company all day, and I could not stop crying for a long time being told she passed and so fell into a depression, I didn’t know cancer was THAT serious being a kid. She did suffer a lot before she passed, she had a tumour in her mouth that would bleed and pain so bad in her bones she couldn’t walk without 2 nurses holding her up as she cried, it was incredibly sad and I can’t believe how much I overlooked what she was going through at the time. Her funeral video was basically a music video of her childhood, riding horses, going to the beach, and her with friends in the hospital dancing and stuff before she started getting really sick... all to this song. Man, artists really have no idea how one of their songs can be so meaningful and nostalgic. Delta will never understand, to me this will always be Natasha’s song. RIP Tash.
