Pierre is the man. 100% Bert, top deck of a LONDON bus. Bert's guitar. Pure LOVE it. Makes me smile from ear to ear. Total perfection Pierre. One of my most favourite BERT songs. Love it man!
Pierre, my guess is that you are only one in the world that is playing so many Bert Jansch tunes - and than in this unbelievable quality and mastership. My biggest respect!
whilst Pierre is definitely the most prolific Bert player on TH-cam, Nir Mehlman is also a great lover of Bert Jansch and he even does tutorial videos of some of Berts songs
Nice to see Pierre's face. This man is an invaluable resource to Bert Jansch fans trying to learn his arrangements. As usual, this channel doesn't provide a link to his channel in the description. Luckily more than a few commenters have compensated for this negligence.
Made me cry to discover this gem. So true to Bert! I didn’t know the half of it; my husband Dave Bainbridge spent many years roadieing with Pentangle and played guitar with Bert at the Marquee. So lovely to hear Bert’s legacy truely played and such a surprise by you in France. What could be better?!
Springtime Promises. Yes, he wrote it on a bus. A beautiful tune. I LOVE it. That's just spot on. I watched Bert play it many times. Your version is the best. Such a happy little tune.
Wonderful playing and singing Pierre. Your arrangements bring Bert's music to life in a way that I rarely hear. I have enjoyed your channel for many years. Good health to you and thank you for all the music.
Back for more. That is powerful. The buzzing bees will hum. One of Bert';s best tunes,...... The other songs are awesome BUT there is *still* a constantly quiet 'ticking noise' in the background. I cannot lie. As your friend I would NEVER bullshit you. If this noise wasn't present it would be 100% perfect. Your presentation is 100% awesome and I have listened on several computers with identical results. YOU MUST come back after playing Sylvie.. who was walking down by the riverside... as I do frequently. Awesome music my friend. My all time favourite Pierre song is .... anything you play. You ARE the man.
Possibly the most deserving man of a contribution to the Bert Jansch legacy. I am glad he spotted it was simply a Yamaha acoustic, as we should all know Bert played the discontinued LL11. A great player and a wonderful man. I wish Pierre could teach us what he plays.
Springtime Promises is 100% Bert. For me at least one of Bert's happiest tunes. I LOVE this little tune. It may not be not Bert's guitar but it's a Yamaha. Even the cheapest Yamaha's are fine instruments. I've never tried a bad one. Pierre.. PLEASE keep keeping on my friend.
You are THE MAN. i love Springtime Promises. It's not HIS guitar, but it looks like it.... lol! Perfection. Keep on keeping on Pierre. I LOVE your Jansch and Pentangle covers.
Bert said at a gig in Glasgow that he wrotre that song on the top deck of a londionbus. I totally love it man. You do it TOTAL justice. You and Bert ... one man bands. Thank you so much Pierre.
I salute tonyou pirre..maybe will not see again but your songs from berth keep us remember you inbthe evolution of folksy tunes...andvstylesvof plucking which others got envy.
Superb guitar playing from Pierre and his voice is just incredible. It's just like listening to Bert really. I know the first two songs but haven't heard them for such a long time. I used to love Soho back in the day. I'll see if I can find a copy of Rosemary Lane. Thank you Pierre but don't let it go to your head.
Ha ha! Thank you for that Pierre. It sounds as if Bert's soul is performing through you and your voice. My deep respects and now, back to my 70's faithfull Yama fg180 that served so well around Marble Arch. 14 & 55 are specially beautiful.
I love you! A French incarnation of wonderful Bert, beautiful playing and singing both done so well. I love Springtime Promises. And you even grace us with some comedy! Oh a sad farewell Pierre~thank you 🥳
I always found it odd that the Pentangle songs weren't released in sheet music notation. Pierre, you have made me smile big time. You totally nailed Springtime Promises. You really get Bert 's sound. I've never heard anyone get these right like you do. These songs remind me of a road trip I made with a friend back in the late 80s. Happy memories. The sun shining, nature always pushing through Bert's lyrics.
Wow, So wonderful to see how you play Berts songs, especially Sylvie..my absolute favourite song on the Rosemary Lane album. I watch all your 'Old picker' videos, trying to learn how to play a few of Berts songs, and it's so helpful, thank you so much🙏❤️
My first time having heard of Pierre and I'm blown away. I was captivated throughout. What an extraordinary man. The thrill is now I have his whole channel to explore! An amazing tribute to Bert and definitely a highlight of the series.
These are really lovely renditions and homages. I will never wish to fight with you about the Rosemary Lane album -- you are a European, with a bottle! Thanks for giving me a bread-crumb trail to follow, trying to learn Springtime Promises.
I'm late to this party but I'm glad I found it. Pierre is amazing generally and this is no different. And yes, Rosemary Lane is Bert's best imo. Good luck Pierre. I hope you continue your series for a long time yet.
De superbes morceaux et bien dans la tradition du Folk anglais que Bert et John Renbourn et d'autres avant et après eux ont contribué a faire connaître
I think these are totally brilliant..having found them at 3am march 2022. You are such a lovely guy too. This makes me want to learn..well try n learn to play some of these songs. Would anyone have tab or scores of these. Happy to pay or make a donation to the foundation. Thanks. Rob.
Have to say Piierre that you are second to none playing Bert's music, shame your not a Scot but French isn't too bad, at least you know your wine if not your whisky. great talent wish you all the best for what is left. regards Tom Bingham PS ROSEMARY LANE is the best LP.
Is there any way we could get this version of Springtime Promises transcribed into Tab?? I need this badly!. Amazing playing on all 4 songs too, excellent.
he does Georges Brassens songs. In fact, it was Pierre who got me listening to Brassens in the first place and now I can say he's one of my favourites - even if I don't speak French
Bonjour mon ami. Tu parles bien anglais maintenant. Bravo. Dakota et son petit chien, Lucky.
Springtime Promises has always been a favourite song of mie...and you play it better than Bert!! you are tuned a semitone below concert pitch, is that just to suit your vocal ?
no but as I keep changing tunings quite often I never check the pitch and also john renbourn often tuned his guitar lower ( specially on the " another monday " album ) so I think I got the habit from him. thank you for watching and all the best pierre

My all-time favourite Pierre post. No need to ask why. It's simply awesome. The best.
