Thank you for your wonderful message! There are some terrible practices still around, justified by the term 'culture', and it takes immense courage to break out of those. Bravo, you are an inspiration to the world!
I feel so bad for her ,her uncle should go to prison!
She’s honestly amazing.
She's so well spoken, motivated and smart. And her dress is also so pretty!!
Beautiful Mercy, first you survived, now you thrive! Success is the best revenge!
why is no one talking about the policeman who refused to hand her back to her parents
that man brings pride to the uniform and to humanity - justice at service!
She is so inspirational. She can be the light to the other girls in their area and also worldwide.
Kudos to the guy she met at the dance who sent her money! She’s an amazing speaker and great story teller! She’s so brave for telling her story!
kinda unrelated, but when I just graduated from middle school and was wearing a formal outfit and my dad took my out to eat (he was dressed in the usual shirt and shorts with a cap and shoes). when the waitress came to take our order she asked of *_if we were on a date._*
my dad is 52 with a beard.
i was 13 at the time (14 now) and i looked and still look and sound like a young child.
Maybe it was a joke but if it wasn’t that waiter is weird
Strong woman. I hope little Johnathan learns from you how to treat woman and kids with respect and compassion. Thanks for big Johnathan God loves you
What a beautiful story!
This is so touching, I respect this woman for sharing such a inspiring, yet horrifying story.
As a member of the male gender, I feel so ashamed that I belong to a gender who see themselves as superior. Feminism is so important and a woman’s rights no matter who they are are personally more important to me than my own.
She is beautiful. I'm glad that she has become successful and escaped a culture of entrapment.
People like her are true inspirations. The people who pledge to leave the world in a much better place than we found it.
Sister it is strong life is not easy that is why I keep myself to be strong I go through difficult thing in our country South Sudan I got married also I were 15 years old and then in wars so many things happen to me I lost my family lot of people and I cry every time that is no solution I just keep God in my face
Wow powerful! These are the cultural aspects in Africa that have kept it back for decades, we all need to join this fight!
India too, Pakistan, Middle East

"I wanted to make peace with my family"🙏 She is beautiful and beyond 💫 Thankyou for being the voice of many ❤️ Thankyou for being so calm, strong, resilient and understanding.
Extraordinary story, beautifully told. Wonderful that you are actively working to wipe out these heinous, criminal behaviours and these ingrained social habits.
That was awesome. She's so beautiful inside and out. I'm so happy she has a loving partner and her adoptive dad figure in her life :)
I’ve never loved a human woman so much. Bless her, protect her, support her.
Such a beautiful and wonderful woman. Never stop fighting for human rights
Reduced me to tears. Mercys story is one of strength and courage. A remarkable and brave woman.

What a wonderful, brave woman.
Feminism has good parts such as this.
@Olivia Weinreich What first-world countries have child marriage, we need to start a riot !!
@@sharpnail8806 in some states people can get married at the age of 13 with consent of the parents.
What are the bad parts? Equal wages? Not getting beat? This is the very LEAST we could do for women.
@@whospilledmybeans yes and also down with the TERFs!
I'm so happy that ;you have persevered...
Amazing story! But Tedx y’all gotta fix these captions. Cause according to youtube the lyrics to her song are “yummy cheesy Conoco king”😂
You shouldn't turn them on, especially if there's "(auto-generated)" next to it. It's not their fault.
Adeldee i usually don’t but I was watching it in the Dr. office & that tickled my little soul
@@laobok Some people need them though, my parents for example. So its just not that simple for some people.
Beautiful
well she stopped at a gas station a nd went inside and had lunch!
What an amazing woman, and an amazing supportive camp. Thanks to all who helped her escape and live a life she wants.

I love her accent, it's so beautiful. She is such a strong and beautiful woman and her talk really inspired me.
More people need to see this video. It should have millions of views. Most people are still in denial about child marriage. Yes, it still happens in the 21st century and it needs to stop!
a beautiful and strong woman. honestly touched my heart
