Great drumming with strong power !!! Lion Dance was good. Nicely done on the bow, high walk, low walk, and 3 rises. After the Choy Chiang could be a little cleaner. Overall, it was a very good performance. Congrat to the team!!
Very nice !!! Love the drumming !!! Wish Sifu Tony Chuy would have his team perform some of their kung fu forms. Their Kung Fu is excellent and fun to watch !!!
Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, I wish they performed some of there Kung Fu forms too. There are some kung fu videos across my channel if you would like to watch some kung fu performances from Chinatown.
Nice, dry day for an outdoor lion dance celebration on Mott Street, where many celebrations have taken place for over 200 years by the Cantonese (the original immigrants to the USA). Very good rhythmic drumming. Thank you for sharing the delightful event!
I recommend watching lion dance from Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. These groups have sharper dance moves. Their dance is full of power and energy. Additionally, their dance carries a story that is well expressed through their movements. They haven't lost their traditional dance moves. The lion looks like a lion, not a human. You can always watch last year’s Global Lion Dance Championship held in Genting.
@neveragain1854 Yes, I have watched last year’s Genting Championship. However, I would disagree on considering Malaysian style lion dance as more traditional. Every school has a different variation on the lion dance. Whether it be Hong Kong style lion dance, going on high poles, or jongs. By displaying videos from different countries we can appreciate how each school lion dances. Try not to post too many negative comments as this is the Chinese New Year. Also look out for other videos on my channel as there is bound to be a video that you may enjoy.
It is quite impressive from an Asian man perspective. The drumming beats were dynamic, clear, and rhythmic while two cymbal players were not necessary. One is sufficient. The space for 3 lions to perform and maneuver was too small even for just 1 lion. The lions were appeared to be healthy and powerful their projections and movements; however, there weren't much choreographed in a unique dancing character or in a special dancing style. Overall, it was pretty good but need to improve more in choreography.
@areebachewa8318 It’s okay that you didn’t enjoy the performance. However, try to keep the comments section more positive as this is the Chinese New Year. Also check out all my other videos on my channel to see if there are lion dance videos that you may enjoy.
@@nycchinatownlionman Well the reason I comment so that this allow the change to do a better Lion or Dragon dance to be performed in the coming of years ...
@autoponicz Umm. It’s okay you don’t think it’s that good. Check out all my other videos to see if you can find any lion dance videos that you may enjoy.

The drum sound is not balance...
Sorry to say this the worst Lion dance to be seen in New York as in UK, Australia, Canada, France they have amazing Lion dance on the Poles ....
Not only on the poles but their dance moves are better.
