I just started to use octane a month ago, and found your channel at the same time. You help newbies a lot to understand Octane logic. Best Octane channel by far! THANK YOU and shoutout from France!
Dude I felt kinda sad not making one! Been out of the country for a few weeks and once I got back it took me a whole week to make a new video. Felt rusty! But I'm back baby!
Been wanting to create this in Redshift so bad. Do you think you'll drop a tutorial for it or that the logic could be applied to Redshift? Love your content!
Awesome Tut! I was attempting to create this and was doing it the wrong way then found this video. Super helpful to see you make this, thanks for sharing!
this is great, i was actually trying to figure out how to do the edges, i supposed it was with displacement maps, but didn't get it quite right. Amazing tips!
Yeah I was actually surprised it worked without breaking when I first tried the technique. I think keeping the Mid Level of the displacement at 1, and making sure the graphics are aligned, is the secret.
My workflow is Blender and one of these would take HOURS of tweaking the mesh to do it right. I'm going to look at Cinema 4D because damn this was easy.
hey there mate, great tutorial as always! quick question though: at 2:01 when you make the shape meant to be extruded, is there any motive to use 'expand appearance + expand' instead of 'outline strokes'? thanks and keep up the great work!
Yeah so if you outline stroke, you'll get vector shapes both of the outer side of the stroke and of the inner side. What you want is to only get the shape of the outer side of the stroke, and expanding appearance merges the stroke and the inner shape as one large shape. My pleasure dude!
Great tutorial! But when importing materials for diffuse, color map, and displacement, the sizes are completely off. And my shape is a bit complex, so I cannot have a perfect fit when playing with a transform node... Any ideas?
Hmm yeah it'll be tricky, maybe this: Click on material tag In "Projection" Set to Flat Up in the top icons, where you have "Point Mode", "Edge Mode" etc click on "Texture Mode" Now you can move the texture around with the axis tool for better precision.
Me too brother. Hopefully this month, it will be a serious and I'm trying to take a more practical and creative approach rather than technical explanation of lighting in Octane.
Who's here from Corridor Crew / Sam and Niko's latest video (the Bob Ross one) ? Apparently even professionals like your videos so that's cool 👍 I hope you'll get lots of subscribers.
@@deanschuettpelz7627 Lolllll wow I didnt even notice Clinton has so much content its hard to keep up. Just saw it tho, fuck how cool man. Thanks for pointing it out! Would've never seen it
Hello, If I buy the pack, will it works with others forms of pins than circle/square/triangle or will the render bé bad on strange forms ? Thanks you for the tutorial !
@@NewPlastic I tried to follow along with your video but it got a bit confusing for me to figure out how to work solely with JPG/PNG files.I had to keep going back to the beginnings of the video to figure out how you set up the smart objects and stuff for your original vector files. I also had trouble figuring out how to set up C4D with the JPG/PNG files that I turned into a vector outline/displacement layer, etc. I'm super new to C4D so having someone explain step-by-step with this method would really help! I hope you'll consider as it would be a life saver!
hi I am new to all this can we do all this in blender and octane for blender and have you made these for only rendering purposes or can we cast these like are these only for renders or are 3D objects for 3D printing.
No these are just made for rendering, not as 3d models. And yes techincally you can use this knowledge for Octane for Blender, I assume a lot is similar. But I wouldn't know.
This is simply the asset browser. I'm using C4D s24 but if you're using an older version, it should be on the very right side of the screen, under the Objects tab. It looks slightly different but behaves almost the same way.
Hey Guy, i'm following the tutorial and when i link the displacement texture, the inside of the enamel starts showing a weird mesh that i cant seem to get rid of. Can you help me out?
Newbie here and haven’t finished watching, just wondering if I can use redshift to achieve the same effect… no experience with any renderer yet lol… for the lighting, should I just download hdri somewhere??
Hello! Redshift user here, yes you can! I did struggle a bit for the displacement (it's not in the same place), but if you use a tutorial about displacement in redshift there's no problem and you can achieve this result! Good luck :)
@@ananaisdesign Hey there! I'm completely new to Cinema4D and Redshift, and I'm having a bit of trouble with the displacement material. I was wondering if you could share some tips on how to make the displacement push inward. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a bunch!
Hey! Great tutorial. I am hitting a bit of a road block when trying to render out a rotating animation, the first frame will not even render. I even left it on for about half and hour and the renderer couldn't make it past the first frame. Any ideas?
