Because he was charged as an adult due to the crimes he committed. And the government charged the parents due to their gross negligence which is involuntary manslaughter. Hope that makes sense.
Because the government wants to charge everybody that they can except for you know the ones that have governmental immunity a.k.a. Oxford, Public schools
The gun was in what they call a gun safe (a plastic box with a combination lock) the Combination had never been changed from the factory - which was 000 It came with a trigger lock which was still in the original packaging unopened. It was easily found ... almost in plain view. The bullets were very near it ... Probably took the kid under 10 minutes to arm himself to the hilt.
I personally think when James went home after hearing about the shooting to check to see if the gun was there he got the case out from where he had it hidden and left it on the bed once he realized the gun wasn’t there. Honestly that’s the only thing that makes sense in my mind.
I thought in the mom's trial one of the reasons she was con- victed. She stated the dad was responsible for the care of the gun .. But she was the last one to take him shooting . And therefore both parents are responsible
I did wonder that also . Like who drove him to school that morning And I'm really flabbergasted at they go tk school.fir meeting see his drawing and hear the guidance counselor I nsrlor ; principal say you need to find hIm mental health within the next 48hrs .. And 1) they didn't take it seriously. 2) They don't think of the gun ..they don't question son about gun.. they don't question each other as to is the gun properly stored so he Ethan could Not have gotten it Had they done that - NONE of this would of occurred And now hearing what he wrote I'm that Journal.Do they now see What they missed and how troubled he was So many lives lost because they didn't get their son the therapy he so needed and requested.
@barbaradonlin3675 not even to the point of getting therapy. If James would have went home immediately after school meeting he would have found the gun missing. That would have shown the least bit of concern. The smallest. Those drawings were a HUGE red flag.

If the kid was tried as an adult how can you charge the dead beat parents?

Anyone any age can be charged with their crime whether related to the killer or not. Even the counselor or dean could have been charged.
@@denisegreene2530 actually no, the counselor and the dean cannot be charged criminally because they have immunity
So did his dad hide the gun and his son found it ?

Part of me wonders how they did not see him take that gun before school. He left the case in plain sight on their parents' bed.

That makes sense...What about the empty cartridge box?

Why does he wear ear muffs?
He is hard of hearing.
His wife got a jail sentence so he's got to be jailed .

@@stephenstill1890 Your English teacher should be jailed!
They are headphones. Because the judge whispers lol. Note: if memory serves, Jennifer's trial showed HER on the swingers app, not her husband.
