- After 22 years and 207k miles, I figured it was time to change this filter and see how much dirt it had accumulated over the years. The replacement filters for these are inexpensive and the entire job is only 30 minutes so let's get busy!

Important Note: It looks like one of these two did have an arrow on it and fortunately I put them in correctly. I only spotted this after reviewing the upload.

'99 thru '06 seems to be the sweet spot for full size Chevy's. Best balance of amenities, easy repair, and available parts. Love my '02 Avalanche! Been driving it since Nov '01.
I agree. The trucks are easy to work on, the drive trains are reliable and powerful enough and the styling is classic. I've got a 2004 cladded Avalanche as my "nice truck" and this Suburban is my daily driver. Both great vehicles.
Thanks for the video, I watched another video before yours to replace the filters on my 02 Avalanche, and I got dizzy trying to watch the video, guy was moving the phone too much😂😂 yours was so easy to follow along thanks
Thanks although I have been accused of dizzying camera work on occasion myself. :)
It's cool seeing someone else with amber fog lights.
I have an 04 Tahoe with the cabin air filter retro-fit kit, 308k miles going strong.
308K! Wow. Mine's just a kid with only 206k. I think the amber fog light add a bit or retro character to the front.
254k on my '02 Avalanche, but that's only because I spent 4.5 years in Africa. Would definitely have been over 300k, otherwise.
@@seanhoudeWow! My Suburban is at about 207k now. My Avalanche is only about 140 or so.
Doing this on the weekend. Thank you, sir!
Good luck! It's an easy job like most things on these 9th gen Suburbans.
About to do this myself! Thanks!!
Good luck! Fairly easy job and if your filter is clogged you should see some improvement in air flow. Just be sure you've got the filters in the right direction. Arrow towards drivers side. :)
at 9:34 the arrow is visible on the outside filter. You have installed the filters the correct direction.
Yes, I got lucky! I remember when i edited this I saw the arrow. Thanks!
Did they put cabin filters in 97 Suburbans?
No. 1997's did not have one but if you've got issues with airflow you may have dirt and dust in the airbox which can be cleaned out.
You have GOT to use a tripod, etc... I got nauseated with all the camera movement. Otherwise, it was very helpful. Oh, and lose the cats. Nobody cares about them.
Personally I keep my catalytic converters, on my own vehicles, because I very much dislike the smell that the exhaust puts out without them.
😸 Best comment I've seen all week.
