Hi Ruchi, I applied under Visa Stamping category for the appointment booking. Also I only paid the cost pf courier and sms service which was Rs 395 at that time as the visa fee was already paid. Hope this will be helpful. Thanks.
Hello if your husband has a work permit yes he can apply family immigration visa for you. It takes diff time from case to case. But timeline will be mentioned in UDI guidelines

I hope your question is related to Police interview post landing in Norway. You can chose the police station near you as per the available date. For eg. I made an appointment with Arendal Police station. Do book it well in advance as it takes a lot of time to get an appointment. 👍🏻

@Anand you get the UDI approval first. Then you take a visa to reach the country as I mentioned in the video one time visa through VFS. Post that to get a residence card and personal number there is a police appointment which is only post arriving in Norway. Before that in India there is only vfs to submit the passport to get visa stamped. Hope it clarifies 👍🏻
There was no interview for the UDI approval they approve basis the documents submitted by you and your spouse. Atleast I had no interview for residence permit approval.

Hi, I am not sure about D type visa as in my case I waited for the UDI approval as dependent before coming to Norway as it might be a case that you can have only one application pending with UDI at one time. You can always go first if that is a possibility in your case. Good Luck.

Firstly Congratulations for the offer 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. No spouse name is not mandatory on the passport. Even I don’t have my husband name on my passport and he too is on skilled visa. Marriage certificate will suffice. I will tell you from some experiences people shared that they applied both the visa for spouse and themselves together but spouse visa took more time. I think still there is no issue in applying together. Hope it helps☺️

Hello. I will surely answer from my experience. I had to submit passport later in the VFS office after I got the approval from UDI but in some cases the passport is submitted with the application so it depends on the place you are applying from and type of visa. Hope it helps😊

Hi Mehak, your video is very informative for me, I was applied the residence visa with my family together on 25th September 2023, however mine is approved after 5 weeks and Norway police asked to complete my child questionaries' form which i miss out to fill up. so upon request from police i was filled up and gave it to my consultant and they submitted 1st November 2023. still i haven't got the result for them. My question is if we applied together the result will come same day together however for my case i was received first and still waiting for my family.
Hello, yes applying the visa with you for family is always faster. But if you have just submitted the documents back it will take some time. But t he timeline always starts from the day you submitted the application. So it should not be delayed as per the timelines from original date of submission with you as per me. Hope you get the visa soon.

Hi Bisma, If I have understood you right you are saying you have not got the family immigration since last 1 year? Is there any issue with the application. As I only know some cases where passport were held by UDI during corona but not most of them got the visa. Is there any issue with the application? As in some special cases Embassy calls for an interview which also I know from experiences from others.

Hello. I do not think age is specified for the spouse visa. If should not be an issue you will have to submit the original marriage certificate which will undergo legalisation. Also there is a relationship form which you have to fill which has a lot more details on the relationship and marriage. As far as I know age is not specified as a separate criteria, so it should not be an issue. Good luck with the visa 😊

Hello it was mentioned in mandatory documents so I shared it but I know some ppl who did not had the birth certificate, they wrote to UDI for clarification as an exception. Only they can confirm the same.
Hi beautiful Mehek! Sorry the video was not relevant for me.Norway is too remote and cold🥶 to plan a trip. Besides, the process is very much routine / similar for Schegen visa💳 and VFS handles it routinely, for several European countries, besides Canada🇨🇦. If you travel on business, there is a personal interview scheduled by VFS ,for Schengen German visa at their Consulate. Questions are very routine and better you have a great sense of humor, during the interview (the way I write/communicate with you) 🤣😂Ideally you should treat the consular officer as a friend and talk with ease. Lots of ❤love and hugs.
I understand it is a valid for people who have applied for a residence permit and not for you. Process is similar like Schengen Visa but there are additional steps and long waiting period.☺️ Good to know regarding the Germany business visa😆. Hello. This is very rare that it is not processed in 9 months. I know there was some delay due to corona in approval of applications. Your spouse can call UDI in norway and check too if there is any specific reason for delay. I am hoping you will get it soon. 😊 As most of the ppl get it in 6-9 months maximum.

Hello, As per the process applicant has to fill the form. In case you want her to fill then you have to give sign and give power of attorney to other person. Like in my case my husband’s company filed it for me but I had to sign power of attorney for that. Hope it helps.

Hello Parkavi, dependents can work in norway, it will be mentioned on your visa as well. IT jobs are easy to find in Norway as those skills are in demand. I cannot give you a timeline but it is easy as IT jobs do not need language proficiency in Norwegian, like other jobs.

Having an own house is not a requirement. They just want that your address ans your wife’s address will be same post you relocate to Norway so it will not matter it is own or not.

Hello Gulmohar, what I have seen in very few cases the reference person is called for an interview by policy mostly in cases where they need some more details. Most likely as he is already called for the interview which means the thing are moving. It should be closed soon. You can always ask the police officer how much more time it will take they mostly answer and will give you estimated time.

Hi Mehek. My husband is starting his phd in april and he got his entry visa in 14days. My son and I are yet to apply for visa, i had sent my birth and marriage certificate for apostille. My husband filled his form in udi and took appointment in vfs and submitted passport same time but is it different for family immigration? Ive to get approval first and then submit passport? What about all the documents like marriage and birth certificate, do it upload it online for udi approval? I'm really confused. Please help
Hello, I can tell you that from my experience, I had to get the UDI approval first by submitting all the documents and then in the end I submitted my passport to VFS. The process steps will be clear on UDI.NO. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your response Mehak. I've applied for family immigration along with my son on 2nd April. I've submitted our passports as it was mentioned in UDI that in case I need the passport during this waiting period then I need to inform VFS, so I didn't need and submitted. I hope we receive an answer soon as we have taken TC from the school here and my son needs to be in Norway by mid August to start school there. A lot of tension now.

Hello. I am not sure specifically about cohabitant visa but what I am sure of is that most of the visa has a time frame of 3-6 months in Norway. It was taking a little longer in covid times.

The decision on visa is always by UDI as they are decision making authority for fresh visas. I think what you are referring to is renewal visas, which sometimes is granted by police itself and will not got to UDI which is faster.

Requirements for the applicant You must document your identity. If you have a valid passport, that is usually valid proof of identity. You must not be subject to a prohibition against entry to Norway or Schengen.
I checked for me and some other applicants birth certificate was required. Hello. Could you please explain what photos are referring here? Also at the police station you just go for biometric an photo is clicked post that they send your resident card. Basically no documents were required at norway police station as the visa is already approved by UDI

Firstly Congratulations for the offer 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. No spouse name is not mandatory on the passport. Even I don’t have my husband name on my passport and he too is on skilled visa. Marriage certificate will suffice. I will tell you from some experiences people shared that they applied both the visa for spouse and themselves together but spouse visa took more time. I think still there is no issue in applying together. Hope it helps☺️

Was it the police that processed your application or was it forwarded to UDI?
Police will take the finger prints and photo during this process and then UDI will process the card which is sent to your address.
One question I hope you can answer this . When you apply for family immigration did they require for you to give your passport or they will take it once you got approved ?
Hello. I will surely answer from my experience. I had to submit passport later in the VFS office after I got the approval from UDI but in some cases the passport is submitted with the application so it depends on the place you are applying from and type of visa. Hope it helps😊

I received it after 1 week. I got one email which was a confirmation that they have received my passport.

Hi Mehak, your video is very informative for me, I was applied the residence visa with my family together on 25th September 2023, however mine is approved after 5 weeks and Norway police asked to complete my child questionaries' form which i miss out to fill up. so upon request from police i was filled up and gave it to my consultant and they submitted 1st November 2023. still i haven't got the result for them. My question is if we applied together the result will come same day together however for my case i was received first and still waiting for my family.
Hello, yes applying the visa with you for family is always faster. But if you have just submitted the documents back it will take some time. But t he timeline always starts from the day you submitted the application. So it should not be delayed as per the timelines from original date of submission with you as per me. Hope you get the visa soon.

Hi Bisma, If I have understood you right you are saying you have not got the family immigration since last 1 year? Is there any issue with the application. As I only know some cases where passport were held by UDI during corona but not most of them got the visa. Is there any issue with the application? As in some special cases Embassy calls for an interview which also I know from experiences from others.

Hello. I do not think age is specified for the spouse visa. If should not be an issue you will have to submit the original marriage certificate which will undergo legalisation. Also there is a relationship form which you have to fill which has a lot more details on the relationship and marriage. As far as I know age is not specified as a separate criteria, so it should not be an issue. Good luck with the visa 😊

Hello it was mentioned in mandatory documents so I shared it but I know some ppl who did not had the birth certificate, they wrote to UDI for clarification as an exception. Only they can confirm the same.

Hi beautiful Mehek! Sorry the video was not relevant for me.Norway is too remote and cold🥶 to plan a trip. Besides, the process is very much routine / similar for Schegen visa💳 and VFS handles it routinely, for several European countries, besides Canada🇨🇦.
If you travel on business, there is a personal interview scheduled by VFS ,for Schengen German visa at their Consulate. Questions are very routine and better you have a great sense of humor, during the interview (the way I write/communicate with you) 🤣😂Ideally you should treat the consular officer as a friend and talk with ease. Lots of ❤love and hugs.
I understand it is a valid for people who have applied for a residence permit and not for you. Process is similar like Schengen Visa but there are additional steps and long waiting period.☺️ Good to know regarding the Germany business visa😆. Post 3 years only I can apply for permanent residence permit if I am eligible as per the all conditions. Hello. This is very rare that it is not processed in 9 months. I know there was some delay due to corona in approval of applications. Your spouse can call UDI in norway and check too if there is any specific reason for delay. I am hoping you will get it soon. 😊 As most of the ppl get it in 6-9 months maximum.

Hello, As per the process applicant has to fill the form. In case you want her to fill then you have to give sign and give power of attorney to other person. Like in my case my husband’s company filed it for me but I had to sign power of attorney for that. Hope it helps.

Hello Parkavi, dependents can work in norway, it will be mentioned on your visa as well. IT jobs are easy to find in Norway as those skills are in demand. I cannot give you a timeline but it is easy as IT jobs do not need language proficiency in Norwegian, like other jobs.

Having an own house is not a requirement. They just want that your address ans your wife’s address will be same post you relocate to Norway so it will not matter it is own or not.

Hey Mehak I got the email from UDI that they have forwarded my application to police and police will contact the reference( my husband)person for interview. Could you tell me approximately how much time it will take for the procedure to complete? It had been 8 months now I haven’t got any decision from UDI on my case.
Hello Gulmohar, what I have seen in very few cases the reference person is called for an interview by policy mostly in cases where they need some more details. Most likely as he is already called for the interview which means the thing are moving. It should be closed soon. You can always ask the police officer how much more time it will take they mostly answer and will give you estimated time.

Hi Mehek. My husband is starting his phd in april and he got his entry visa in 14days. My son and I are yet to apply for visa, i had sent my birth and marriage certificate for apostille. My husband filled his form in udi and took appointment in vfs and submitted passport same time but is it different for family immigration? Ive to get approval first and then submit passport? What about all the documents like marriage and birth certificate, do it upload it online for udi approval? I'm really confused. Please help
Hello, I can tell you that from my experience, I had to get the UDI approval first by submitting all the documents and then in the end I submitted my passport to VFS. The process steps will be clear on UDI.NO. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your response Mehak. I've applied for family immigration along with my son on 2nd April. I've submitted our passports as it was mentioned in UDI that in case I need the passport during this waiting period then I need to inform VFS, so I didn't need and submitted. I hope we receive an answer soon as we have taken TC from the school here and my son needs to be in Norway by mid August to start school there. A lot of tension now.

Hello. I am not sure specifically about cohabitant visa but what I am sure of is that most of the visa has a time frame of 3-6 months in Norway. It was taking a little longer in covid times.

The decision on visa is always by UDI as they are decision making authority for fresh visas. I think what you are referring to is renewal visas, which sometimes is granted by police itself and will not got to UDI which is faster.

I actually got email every month but this can be delayed too and sometimes it is delayed as you get the final approval. Hope you get it soon.

Hello,Only document which was listed in the UDI checklist was birth certificate. You will have to raise a query with UDI.
Requirements for the applicant
You must document your identity. If you have a valid passport, that is usually valid proof of identity.
You must not be subject to a prohibition against entry to Norway or Schengen.
This is what is mentioned in UDI. Can you check and let me know on this. It would be a great help.
I checked for me and some other applicants birth certificate was required. It depends on your visa type. For family immigration if you are citizen of another country it is required.

Hello. Could you please explain what photos are referring here? Also at the police station you just go for biometric an photo is clicked post that they send your resident card. Basically no documents were required at norway police station as the visa is already approved by UDI
