Mimeoplasm trigger will resolve first. Becoming Rex and getting +1/+1 drawing cards. The Rex trigger will go on the stack. U can pitch cards to add key word counters. Draw more cards. Notably: discard synergy comes in to play. Archfiend of Ifnir and bone Miser go hard. Or a different angle is with Mystic Redactions to mill your opponents in your clean up phase
I was so close to including archfiend. I ended up not being able to justify it unless I added more blink. Also thanks for clearing up that interaction! So glad it’s as busted as I thought!
In testing we noticed you usually only discard 2-4 cards at a time so we decided bone miser wasn't worth it. Archfiend prob should be in the list but he already included the nev's disk lock which is definitely worse but a bit goofier. If you brew him archfiend is def a good include.
Rules correction. Everything still happens the same way and functions the same way. Indominus Rex doesn't have an etb "trigger" the ability happens "as" it enters. People can respond to Rex entering but only after Rex is "finished" entering the battlefield
9:16 and yes, this even counts with protection. If the blocker is pro-green, or has protection of any kind; you only have to assign 1 damage even if it doesn’t kill the creature. You only have to assign what would be lethal to the creature, not what actually is lethal to it. This changes around Zendikar/Som with blocking order and assigning damage.
Almost a year later so my comment is so outdated by default, but I love this commander. I'm still working on finding that sweet spot, but you gave me a few ideas I hadn't considered yet. Despite being on the same path as you. I was already running Toothy, yet I hadn't considered Jarad until now. Just fling for the win. Love it. This commander has been a challenge for me. The first impression is to treat it as a voltron commander, but without exploring +1/+1 counter synergies, it's hard to manage that. I'm having a good time testing Ruinous Intrusion and Astarion's Thirst though. Removal that adds +1/+1 counters to the commander. I'm still laughing at how one guy at my local shop thinks this commander is too broken. He keeps stacking Dranith Magistrate in his opening hand because he claims that the game is over if I'm allowed to cast and resolve Rex. Too fast coupled with too much advantage and too difficult to remove. It's annoying because he's the strongest player at the shop and yet he's completely wrong this time. There are many ways to deal with Rex or simply get around her.
brewing up a similar deck, somethings i didnt see in the video that have been great in goldfishing: runadi, behemoth caller winding constrictor llanowar reborn
I was going to run a blink strat with displacer kitten, saw in half, eternal witness strat as well as living death, and not dead after all, undying malice with finale of devastation and or lightning greaves. Saw in half rex holding priority play not dead after all then there are 3 rexes in play, sac the 2 tokens to the legend rule keep the original and he triggers 3 times since it is an etb trigger. Each trigger resolves one at a time and can draw a lot of cards making toothy gigantic very quickly.
Have you come up with a way to give him double-strike? I looked and can't find a way to give him double-strike through his own ability. (I see the Gavil)
total for all these cards is $400 as of today by choosing cheapest options EXCLUDING the cost of the commander because that price will drop as we get closer to the release of the set
Rex's ability to put counters on herself only places 1 of each different type of counter yes. But her second ability lets you draw for each counter on her. Because you can proliferate ANY kind of counter, you can actually accumulate duplicate trample counters ETC on her and get a card draw for each one.
Depends on your playgroup and your meta :) this might be a lot of fun in a meta where people might be able to interact with (you can play around those two keywords with bounce spells, sacrifice, counterspells etc; there are a lot of ways to deal with it), but when your playgroup isn’t slotted for that, you can just boardwipe and put him on the field and its gg. In my playgroup, i would get stomped by a krenko, get countered when everyone noticed how powerful a card is or if an enemy is a thread against my Jeleva, I just „borrow“ his thread for the rest of the game :D And that’s not unfun to play, the interaction is so much fun
Normal Voltron Commanders: Use Equips and Auras to power themselves.
Indominus: *EAT THEIR FOOD*

runadi, behemoth caller
winding constrictor
llanowar reborn
Runadi seems perfect I also dig the land! definitely included winding constrictor it’s to good not to! Solid suggestions! 😁
Kinda want to make a dinosaur commander pod using all the excellent Dino commanders

Looking forward to this vid.
Hope he's not too pricey.
About 15$ for Indominus
@@animejacob Got a preorder for 9.99 im happy
any possible budget version of this deck?
One more reason to run sacrifice-style removal and Vampire Hexmage in my decks.
Sadly wont work the majority of the time. Better to play an edict effect.
I was COUNTING on someone making a good deck for it.
I'll see myself out.
🤣 no puns allowed!
Number and allocation of lands??
If urza's saga why not shadow spear
Have you come up with a way to give him double-strike? I looked and can't find a way to give him double-strike through his own ability. (I see the Gavil)
Sadly not in these colors he’d have to be in the 99 of a different deck :/
Fireshrieker can give him double strike for 5 mana.
Ggs and I’m cooking rn 🎉
Hell yea!

is this card real?
It is 😁
This video seem to have Error you do not get to Draw double the card if you discard 3 card with trample you only get to draw 1

Unfortunately, the deck is extremely boring to play. For both, the opponent and the player himself. Hexproof and indestructible is almost unbeatable
You seem like you aren’t very good at magic
I don't know man, I'd have a blast playing this personally

Keyword soup dies to edict effects pretty well. There’s also shadowspear, etc. already played in commander pretty frequently.
Exile exists. Run more interaction.
