it may be silly but i cannot put into words how pleased it makes me to see overqwil be named sharpballon. its also so good to see the wrath back. its one of those mons that doesnt stand out much but is there when you need it

Poliwhirl has been my favorite mon since I was a kid and first played Red/Blue. Happy to see that its evo is being used and that people incorporate it into their teams, giving it the love it deserves! Great video and commentary as well :)

Shiftry has been doing good work! Wind Rider is exactly the edge it needed to perform like a baller- Heat Wave, Blizzard, Hurricane, the Wind Storm genie moves, straight ignores them! My Shiftry was sweeping teams w Knock Off! I never thought I'd see the day lol
They buffed Poliwrath earlier (85->95 base attack, yay!) but I think it deserves more. It's a third stage AND a fighting type mon with 95 base attack stat, which is pitiful in my opinion.
It has a nice 70 Sp.Atk to back it up at least. Something like Hitmontop has 95 atk and 35 sp.atk, so it's not exclusively him who's on the low numbers for fighting types.
Give it Purepower
Needs Aqua Jet and Mach Punch. The former because its dex entries always mention how fast a swimmer it is
In Gen X Poliwrath will learn Jet Punch and become a menace with Belly Drum and Drain Punch

I wish poliwrath was a little stronger. He’s so cool and I feel like Pokemon just made so many Pokemon in future gens stronger as time went on and never went back and buffed up the old ones.
There's very few examples of Pokemon getting stat increases, but it does happen. For example, Butterfree got an extra 10 SpA in Gen 6, and Swellow got +25 SpA in Gen 7 which really boosted it's BoomBursts it got in Gen 6

I've been using Swift Swim Poliwrath for my doubles team, Swift Swim + Encore is nasty and the big dog frog hits super hard with Life Orb, great vid great Pokemon

Could y’all imagine a Pokémon game with all the Pokémon, including all the mechanics in past games? Access to every region, along with boost to mons that need them, maybe even adding to the other mechanics. Also, the competitive scene would be crazy good, especially if they boost up the battle timer.
Z moves, Mega Evo, Tera and Dmax all together? You think the competitive scene would benefit from that?
Absolutely not, it would be a shit show lol.
Might be fun as a “meta of the month” on Showdown, but beyond that no one serious about competitive would want to play anymore.
@@Teyeranitar What if you can set up rules for it? Like it’s up to the player to choose which is on or off. If you just want Mega’s, then you could set it to that, with all the others off. Same as the other choices also matchmaking could be a thing, if you play with all the mechanics then that’s on side, another side could play just mega’s and that will by their side, etc.
Pokémon showdown literally has that as a laddered metagame, it’s called Nat Dex and the meta is a complete mess lmfao

In all honesty, no. I imagine I'd get bored by the third region. By the time I fought Red in Gen 2, even as a kid, I was more than happy for it to finally be over.

Make all mechanics and pokemon available, but separate them. So you can competitively compete using only Z-moves or only Mega Evo, etc. They would have to make more Mega Evo and Dmax forms.

Would Earth Power not have killed Klefki on turn 1 or would it have lived? I didn't see anything on their team that would have appreciated it. Unless Rain+STAB does more damage than a super effective attack.
weather ball in rain does a tiny bit more damage, plus both would have been two hit KOs regardless
