You really did justice to THE ultimate shoegaze anthem and served us all comfortable folks, too lazy to change the tuning to the MBV original. Thank you and Odin bless you! :)
Gbm and F#m are enharmonics so you get the same outcome, but in this case, it should be F#m. The underlying music theory reason is that in the key of D this is functioning as a iii chord not some type of strange flat iv chord.
it's better to divide this 12 chord progression in 2 (6 - 6), not in 3 (4 - 4 - 4). will be easier to play it this way, i think. (i apologize if my explanation and/or my english are not understandable xd)
Thanks for this. Just wanted to point out that you mention Bm7/9/11 in your chords section, but it's missing/replaced by the D, in the play along sections. I don't know what the whoops and the time stamps mean at 2:11 ?
Nice! But it's a little muddy. I saw them 3 times live and the texture was clearer, the distortion were these wonderful droning sounds and the low end you felt in your throat, all the way down to the toes. Or that could have been from the MDMA and LSD I was on
it sounds almost like the right and alternative tune version on the LP but this is not sometimes ... it lacks all the tones brought by the DADAAD tuning
Agreed. The DADAAD tuning makes it more mellow but even then when it's not tuned with the 448hz reference pitch, it still feels off. Not to discredit the hard work of the uploader though as this is amazing as I don't feel like getting a tuner out whenever I want to play sometimes.

For some reason it felt like shoegaze meets late 2000’s rock. Not that I am complaining, but it definitely threw me off.

Oh well, least it won’t snap my strings
Just down strumming?
alternate.
Is this in standard tuning?
yes but pitch is a litlle high, A=445Hz.
As u can see it sounds shitty in standard
it sounds pretty great to me, its a pain in the ass to tune the guitar to DADAAd
