Jimin the Black swan who sprouted wings and the shadow is also a trained contemporary dancer. He is the ALL ROUNDER dancer of the group mixing his dances with martial arts. He is a Taekwondo blackbelt, kendo, chinese martial arts trained. He has also the unique voice.
he is not chinese martial arts trained,. he had one wk training which does not make him proficient in those files... need yrs of training to get a certificate and degree in it like tkdo black belt.

You guys may get lots of suggestions but seriously watch what you please. 💜. Keep in mind that if you find a video (MV or other) with no English subs, search and you WILL find one with subs. Don’t rely on any video with “auto- translate”. It sucks!! A good source of their early behind-the scenes and blog videos with subs is the Bangtan Subs YT channel. The official Bangtan TV channel has all the Run BTS variety shows under the playlists with subs but lots of the material there before 2019(?) has no subtitles.

Here is what is in store for you. 10 years of group content. 1 year of each of them doing solo work. They have their own TV variety show called "RunBTS." I would wait until you all get to know them and know their names and faces before you watch. You can NOT identify them by their hair color or hairstyle because it changes all the time. You will need to be able to facially identify them. Then later, you will also be able to identify them by their speaking and singing voice no matter what they look like. It really does take a while to know who is who. Again, the best way to get to know them is watching "A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7" but until then, enjoy every gleeful moment of your journey. You can watch a Behind the Scenes dance practice or filming. It's fun to see Jimin being filmed doing all the contemporary dance scenes for "Black Swan." How did he get so good at dance? They have been interviewed on TV and radio shows all over the world. And they perform on TV shows and award shows. Many will want you to watch their most famous award show performance. My opinion. Wait til you know them better and know their songs better to enjoy it. But do what you want. There are no rules.You can watch their Live Performances. You can watch their concerts. And you're watching their MV's right now. They have filmed VLives where they get online and talk to their fans, Army. Sometimes, they sing or do activities like cook. Sometimes it's all of them after a concert or an award show. Sometimes, they eat. Jin is famous for his eating show. They go on BTS vacations called "Bon Voyage." During the pandemic, they filmed 2 staycations at fun rental homes. It's called "In the Soop." They sing covers. One of my favs is "Coldplay's "Fix You. " They all released solo albums except Jin. He didn't have time to. But he did telease his wonderful MV "My Universe." It's exceptional.They have done it all in the last 11 years. They're all in the required service to the Korean military right now. Except Jin. He just finished his 18 months of service. They all went in at staggered times. Even though they are in the military they filmed and worked on projects and albums and are slowly releasing them almost every month for us. So what's next? You choose. It's fun to watch their debut from June 2013. They started out as all HipHop and slowly evolved into what they are now. Musicians who sing and perform any genre. How about this? A little Latin number. "Airplane, Pt. 2" You can watch the MV or their Live Performance. Actually, there are 2 Live Performances or more to pick from. Or you can watch them all to compare and contrast. They do add additional dance breaks sometimes. And refashion or redo a performance so as not to bore their fans. There are many, many, many unique "Black Swan" reworks. One of them is all choreography. It's one of my favorites! It's the 2020 MMA performance. It's on TH-cam. So choose a recommendation. Jimin (the flexible guy towards the end/guy with blue hair) majored in contemporary dancing and also did street dancing/hip-hop, J-Hope (the guy rapping after the first chorus) was a street/hip-hop dancer for many years before joining Bangtan. There are many videos you can watch to see their dance skills, J-Hope has a lot of weverse/vlive (their platforms to livestream) streams where he dances.
This wasn't really contemporary dance, just some aspects of it 🙂 BTS is incredibly lucky to have Jimin with his diverse dance background (hip-hop, contemporary, ballet, traditional Korean) and his athleticism. He added so much to this video dance wise.
67-yr old ARMY here and I am just here for BTS. I don't listen to other kpop groups. BTS is beyond kpop as you will see if you continue to explore their discography. They love to try different things and you can see from their solo albums (done before they all went for their mandatory military service) that each one has their own style but when they come together, they are just phenomenal. ARMY can't wait for 2025 when they are all finally discharged from military and make plans as a group.
Jimin and J-hope are the ones who are the dancers and knew dancing before, that is why they are the main dancers. V and Jungkook are the lead dancers. The others learned while in BTS. The meaning of Black Swan is the fear of dying twice. Once when you lose the passion for your art and the other death is the one we all have to meet.
The thing with BTS is that they're so incredibly varied, with many different styles and genres. I suggest the Festa Room Live because it's a medley of different songs and it's a great live performance. 😊
Black Swan is also a ballet performed by minor and major dance companies. Black Swan is also a movie from 2010 and Natalie Portman is in it. The movie is about two rival dancers and one of them shows her dark side.

about the choreography group has two of the most skilled dancers: one (jimin) was doing contemporary since childhood and was the best student out of his arts school, he also took part in dance battles at that time and was (still is) insanely good at cramping, breakdance, popping. and the other one (j-hope) was inspired by dance since he was a kid as well, he was a pretty well known street dancer as a child-teenager. they both can easily do freestyle dancing and out of the group they’re the best, people love to say that hobi is a better dancer tho which in my opinion is not true. they both seem to be kinda at the same level, it’s just that their styles are different. talking about dancers we can’t really forget about jk. he wasn’t born with a talent of dancing like jimin and j-hope but he was sent to america to learn to dance with emotions. when he came back he understood dance more. he’s incredibly physically strong (jimin as well, they’re like acrobats of the group), athletic and can move. other guys of bts are good dancers but these are just next level
what do you mean jk wasn't born with a talent for dancing. jhope and jimin were not born with dancing talent... they took dance training for 7 and 5 yrs respectively to be where they are now. jk is almost as good as them without that kind of training.

Three rappers, 4 vocalists. The rapper Jhope is also a “sub-vocal” with a nice voice. RM and Suga are mainly rappers but have shown in their recent solo work that they can sing too. Main vocal Jungkook also rapped in early songs. (The others have “tried” rapping as you may see on their show Run BTS, etc 😂🤣) As in synch their dancing has been since their debut due to endless practice, it’s hard to believe that only 2 of them knew how to dance before they started training with BTS. Jimin went to a performing arts high school where he studied contemporary & hiphop, and Jhope did street dance in the dance crew Neuron since junior high and won a national competition. Suga used to do some b-boy dancing but stopped after a shoulder injury in his trainee days pre- debut that was never properly fixed until his 2020 surgery. RM and Suga were real underground rappers but Jhope learned rapping from them. Except for Jungkook who was in a singing competition before becoming a Bighit trainee, none of them could sing - they learned via training. They chose 7 awesome members with talent and potential out of 30+ trainees, but a lot of the outcome is a result of hard work, training and dedication. After BTS formed, they trained from 6 mos to 3 years in singing, rapping, dancing before their 2013 group debut. They also learned stage presence and Japanese language. They all speak Japanese too since the trainee days -Japanese is a big market for Kpop and they have Japanese singles and albums. They have appeared on Japanese TV shows, for example with V’s 2023 solo album promotions he was on a couple of Japanese variety show and spoke it easily. They never imagined performing in the west (BTS paved the way!!) so at that time English was not part of Kpop training. RM is fluent in English. The rest have studied but they only know a little. Jungkook’s solo album in 2023 was all English and his pronunciation is very good but he cannot speak it well. Thanks for showing their videos. I hope you enjoy more!! 💜

BTS always finds YOU when you need them. I and other millions of ARMY can attest to this. For instance in Black Swan the member you saw doing all the contemporary dancing was Jimin. Before his days with BTS began he was a top student of contemporary dance at Busan high school of Arts. In the MV he was also the one that spread out the black angel wings. Right now, all except for Jin (he was just released!!!) are performing their military service. black swan is an ARMY favorite tbh. it’s difficult to pay attention to the lyrics when there’s so much going on in the video with visuals and dancing, but part of the reason why BTS are a standout in kpop is bc their lyrics are so meaningful, so if you guys have the time (maybe not even in the reaction but in your free time) it’d be really good if you checked them out. thank u for the reaction 💜

I recommend reacting to BTS Room Live Festa 2021. It’s a great introduction to their b-side songs. It shows how versatile their music is. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Jhope: Arson. During their time getting ready for military service and during... it was for Jhope to be the first to debut his album. Jack in the Box... he was invited in 2022 to headline Lollapalooza. It was the biggest crowd. You can see it on TH-cam. He is the dance leader making sure all the steps are in sync - they fear him if he gives them a look for not doing it right. He learned to rap from RM and Suga. It was at Lollapalooza he met his idol JCole. He was so shy. He wrote the song and melody and invited JCole to do On the Streets with him before he went into the military. He is a hip-hop dancer for sure and the joy of all of ARMY. On this track Black Swan... if you watch videos from each album they write a story and use individual props throughout the videos. It is BTS World stories. I think you miss this when you don't research a little and ask questions that are a difficult to answer without someone going into a big explanation. BTS seamlines albums with a story - they all connect. And, you will see props show up in other album debuts and their solo works. They are 7 but want you to know they are ultimately ONE. They always refer to one another in easter egg drops, discussions and pictures. The latest: Jimin used DNA in a sone, and in his pictures had the number 7 light shine on his black shoe. This is the first time other than the Maknae line was forced and pushed by RM, Suga, and Jhope to write, choreograph, produce, and develop their own albums to help them grow. They are constantly learning and all have MBA's in music and business. These are not stupid men. They write stories and the songs connect - You have only touched the tip of the iceberg.

You guys may get lots of suggestions but seriously watch what you please. 💜. Keep in mind that if you find a video (MV or other) with no English subs, search and you WILL find one with subs. Don’t rely on any video with “auto- translate”. It sucks!! A good source of their early behind-the scenes and blog videos with subs is the Bangtan Subs YT channel. The official Bangtan TV channel has all the Run BTS variety shows under the playlists with subs but lots of the material there before 2019(?) has no subtitles.
BTS tends to portray ideas and thoughts very well in their songs or videos. The complexity of most of his compositions beautifully expresses his creative and artistic choices. To do this, they use various devices and symbols, linking literary, psychological and social references. Repeating words is a deliberate literary device that puts emphasis on something and is called Epizeuxis. In this case, "bump, bump, bump" is the sound of the heartbeat and conveys the heightened sensation of anxiety; and, "jump, jump, jump" deepens the feeling of depression and dark thoughts, adding layers of complexity to the lyrics. In the case of "nah, nah, nah" and "yeah, yeah, yeah" the repetition makes the song accessible to BTS's multinational and multilingual audience where fans from diverse backgrounds can easily sing along, creating a sense of unity and connection. . “Black Swan” is inspired by the psychological theories of Carl Jung and explores the concept of “Shadow” which addresses the darkest things that exist in all of us and that we hide or repress, for example, our fears and doubts or our prejudices. It is based on the following quote from dancer and choreographer Martha Graham, “a dancer dies twice - once when she stops dancing, and this first death is the most painful”. That's why it's relatable to Tchaikovsky's famous ballet, "Swan Lake", where there's a character called Black Swan. This song has an essentially deep and personal meaning for BTS, as it refers to the fear of losing their passion for music. The video portrays the fight between light and darkness, with beautiful visuals, powerful choreography and emotional vocals, adding depth to the narrative and representing the artists' internal conflicts and emotions. But the lyrics end with the hope that they will fight this feeling by looking deeper into themselves, understanding their feelings, knowing themselves better, and using those feelings as inspiration to make more music.

Here is what is in store for you. 10 years of group content. 1 year of each of them doing solo work. They have their own TV variety show called "RunBTS." I would wait until you all get to know them and know their names and faces before you watch. You can NOT identify them by their hair color or hairstyle because it changes all the time. You will need to be able to facially identify them. Then later, you will also be able to identify them by their speaking and singing voice no matter what they look like. It really does take a while to know who is who. Again, the best way to get to know them is watching "A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7" but until then, enjoy every gleeful moment of your journey. You can watch a Behind the Scenes dance practice or filming. It's fun to see Jimin being filmed doing all the contemporary dance scenes for "Black Swan." How did he get so good at dance? You'll have to watch their introductory documentary. No spoilers from me. You can get to see them have fun while working. They are famous for their Korean commercials of all kinds of products. They have been interviewed on TV and radio shows all over the world. And they perform on TV shows and award shows. Many will want you to watch their most famous award show performance. My opinion. Wait til you know them better and know their songs better to enjoy it. But do what you want. There are no rules.You can watch their Live Performances. You can watch their concerts. And you're watching their MV's right now. They have filmed VLives where they get online and talk to their fans, Army. Sometimes, they sing or do activities like cook. Sometimes it's all of them after a concert or an award show. Sometimes, they eat. Jin is famous for his eating show. They go on BTS vacations called "Bon Voyage." During the pandemic, they filmed 2 staycations at fun rental homes. It's called "In the Soop." They sing covers. One of my favs is "Coldplay's "Fix You. " They all released solo albums except Jin. He didn't have time to. But he did telease his wonderful MV "My Universe." It's exceptional.They have done it all in the last 11 years. They're all in the required service to the Korean military right now. Except Jin. He just finished his 18 months of service. They all went in at staggered times. Even though they are in the military they filmed and worked on projects and albums and are slowly releasing them almost every month for us. So what's next? You choose. It's fun to watch their debut from June 2013. They started out as all HipHop and slowly evolved into what they are now. Musicians who sing and perform any genre. How about this? A little Latin number. "Airplane, Pt. 2" You can watch the MV or their Live Performance. Actually, there are 2 Live Performances or more to pick from. Or you can watch them all to compare and contrast. They do add additional dance breaks sometimes. And refashion or redo a performance so as not to bore their fans. There are many, many, many unique "Black Swan" reworks. One of them is all choreography. It's one of my favorites! It's the 2020 MMA performance. It's on TH-cam. So choose a recommendation. You'll make someone very happy watchingvtheir favorite. My favorite is the first time I saw them performing "On" in Grand Central Station in New York City. Find the only copy available on TouTube. Jimin (the flexible guy towards the end/guy with blue hair) majored in contemporary dancing and also did street dancing/hip-hop, J-Hope (the guy rapping after the first chorus) was a street/hip-hop dancer for many years before joining Bangtan. There are many videos you can watch to see their dance skills, J-Hope has a lot of weverse/vlive (their platforms to livestream) streams where he dances.

This wasn't really contemporary dance, just some aspects of it 🙂 BTS is incredibly lucky to have Jimin with his diverse dance background (hip-hop, contemporary, ballet, traditional Korean) and his athleticism. He added so much to this video dance wise.
67-yr old ARMY here and I am just here for BTS. I don't listen to other kpop groups. BTS is beyond kpop as you will see if you continue to explore their discography. They love to try different things and you can see from their solo albums (done before they all went for their mandatory military service) that each one has their own style but when they come together, they are just phenomenal. ARMY can't wait for 2025 when they are all finally discharged from military and make plans as a group.
Jimin and J-hope are the ones who are the dancers and knew dancing before, that is why they are the main dancers. V and Jungkook are the lead dancers. The others learned while in BTS. The meaning of Black Swan is the fear of dying twice. Once when you lose the passion for your art and the other death is the one we all have to meet.
BTS live performance is the best.
The thing with BTS is that they're so incredibly varied, with many different styles and genres. I suggest the Festa Room Live because it's a medley of different songs and it's a great live performance. 😊
Black Swan is also a ballet performed by minor and major dance companies. Black Swan is also a movie from 2010 and Natalie Portman is in it. The movie is about two rival dancers and one of them shows her dark side.

about the choreography
group has two of the most skilled dancers: one (jimin) was doing contemporary since childhood and was the best student out of his arts school, he also took part in dance battles at that time and was (still is) insanely good at cramping, breakdance, popping. and the other one (j-hope) was inspired by dance since he was a kid as well, he was a pretty well known street dancer as a child-teenager. they both can easily do freestyle dancing and out of the group they’re the best, people love to say that hobi is a better dancer tho which in my opinion is not true. they both seem to be kinda at the same level, it’s just that their styles are different.
talking about dancers we can’t really forget about jk. he wasn’t born with a talent of dancing like jimin and j-hope but he was sent to america to learn to dance with emotions. when he came back he understood dance more. he’s incredibly physically strong (jimin as well, they’re like acrobats of the group), athletic and can move.
other guys of bts are good dancers but these are just next level

vocalists. The rapper Jhope is also a “sub-vocal” with a nice voice. RM and Suga are mainly rappers but have shown in their recent solo work that they can sing too. Main vocal Jungkook also rapped in early songs. (The others have “tried” rapping as you may see on their show Run BTS, etc 😂🤣) As in synch their dancing has been since their debut due to endless practice, it’s hard to believe that only 2 of them knew how to dance before they started training with BTS. Jimin went to a performing arts high school where he studied contemporary & hiphop, and Jhope did street dance in the dance crew Neuron since junior high and won a national competition. Suga used to do some b-boy dancing but stopped after a shoulder injury in his trainee days pre- debut that was never properly fixed until his 2020 surgery. RM and Suga were real underground rappers but Jhope learned rapping from them. Except for Jungkook who was in a singing competition before becoming a Bighit trainee, none of them could sing - they learned via training. They chose 7 awesome members with talent and potential out of 30+ trainees, but a lot of the outcome is a
result of hard work, training and dedication. After BTS formed, they trained from 6 mos to 3 years in singing, rapping, dancing before their 2013 group debut. They also learned stage presence and Japanese language. They all speak Japanese too since the trainee days -Japanese is a big market for Kpop and they have Japanese singles and albums. They have appeared on Japanese TV shows, for example with V’s 2023 solo album promotions he was on a couple of Japanese variety show and spoke it easily. They never imagined performing in the west (BTS paved the way!!) so at that time English was not part of Kpop training. RM is fluent in English. The rest have studied but they only know a little. Jungkook’s solo album in 2023 was all English and his pronunciation is very good but he cannot speak it well. Thanks for showing their videos. I hope you enjoy more!! 💜

BTS always finds YOU when you need them. I and other millions of ARMY can attest to this. For instance in Black Swan the member you saw doing all the contemporary dancing was Jimin. Before his days with BTS began he was a top student of contemporary dance at Busan high school of Arts. In the MV he was also the one that spread out the black angel wings.
Right now, all except for Jin (he was just released!!!) are performing their military service. They will all be finished by June of 2025. J-Hope will be returning home next this September!!! Lastly, you just got yourselves a new sub!

Jhope: Arson. During their time getting ready for military service and during... it was for Jhope to be the first to debut his album. Jack in the Box... he was invited in 2022 to headline Lollapalooza. It was the biggest crowd. You can see it on TH-cam. He is the dance leader making sure all the steps are in sync - they fear him if he gives them a look for not doing it right. He learned to rap from RM and Suga. It was at Lollapalooza he met his idol JCole. He was so shy. He wrote the song and melody and invited JCole to do On the Streets with him before he went into the military. He is a hip-hop dancer for sure and the joy of all of ARMY. On this track Black Swan... if you watch videos from each album they write a story and use individual props throughout the videos. It is BTS World stories. I think you miss this when you don't research a little and ask questions that are a difficult to answer without someone going into a big explanation. BTS seamlines albums with a story - they all connect. And, you will see props show up in other album debuts and their solo works. They are 7 but want you to know they are ultimately ONE. They always refer to one another in easter egg drops, discussions and pictures. The latest: Jimin used DNA in a sone, and in his pictures had the number 7 light shine on his black shoe. This is the first time other than the Maknae line was forced and pushed by RM, Suga, and Jhope to write, choreograph, produce, and develop their own albums to help them grow. They are constantly learning and all have MBA's in music and business. These are not stupid men. They write stories and the songs connect - You have only touched the tip of the iceberg.
