Awesome update. Huge fan of Iron Savior here. I have all their releases on cd. Deadly Sleep and Solar Wings are awesome. Check out Tyranny Of Steel too (although I prefer the original version). Their early albums cost me a fortune to get but it's all worth it. Have a huge mail arriving today. Cheers my friend 🍻🤘.
Really cool update here Darcy. Nice additions to the Maiden and Sodom collection. About time Hammersmith got a proper release. The 40th set looks handy, nice touch to include a song from each album. Iron saviour I've never checked out but good to hear some info on them. Riot City are ace. Probably one of the best modern HM bands going, still need to pick up both those albums. I agree, where did the time go? I can still remember going to down to the mall with my best friend at the time and buying Metallica's 'And Justice For All...' on the day it was released 34 years ago. Its as vivid in my memory as if it happened an hour ago.

Man I was so excited as this was the first Metallica album I had anticipated coming out. Just remember that good old longbox and how excited I was listening to it on my first CD player that I had bought a year before. Didn't have a turntable back then since I was only 18.
Hi Darcy! I was around in 1982 (I was 10), but after starting out with Kiss as a 7year old I started listening to metal again in 1988 with Operation Mindcrime. But of course I discovered Number Of The Beast soon enough!

Great update young fella , man i've got Number of the beast on every format but wasn't aware of the triple vinyl 40th anniversary edition .. i'll have to get it now , you're a bad egg Darcy .... lol . The new Dokken box set is a must IMO . BMG aka Big Money Grab , but what the hell , my old OGs have been played to death . The new Sodom 40 years is killer too , the re recorded versions sound top notch with the modern production , Caligula is a ball crusher . You're right Darcy , where did those 40 years go ? 🤘
I like the 1998 CD remaster of Number Of The Beast best, it has both Gangland and Total Eclipse. I love both songs and to me it's incomplete with either being omitted.

Very cool Maiden TNOTB 40 year reissue with the extras. I was thinking of picking up the Sodom comp but decided not to in the end as I’m concentrating on finding OGs atm. You will see an awesome Sodom record in my next update. Awesome thrash and sweet finds you grabbed on yr business trip. Eliran Kantor is killing it atm. Riot City is on my check out list but haven’t got around to them yet. Too many great bands yet to discover
The Maiden package looks great. I will def get it at some point. The hammer smith show is phenomenal. And that deal on the Sodom records is just unheard of. Nothing better than being in a record store and finding something crazy like that!! IA collectors dreami lol.Boxsets like the Crue, dokken are great ways to nail down a discography, but a bit more TLC for the price wouldn’t hurt. Great stuff as always brother, enjoy the new spins. Very awesome update, Darcy! Very cool to picked up the reissue of Iron Maiden's The Number of the Beast on both cassette & vinyl. That Sodom release looks amazing as well. Iron Savior are an incredibly overlooked band. But they definitely deserved more attention.

I've got to get that Iron Allies album. I love Accept big time. Where was I Monday March 22, 1982 when Iron Maiden released their classic third album? I don't remember I was only 3.
Used to have a TNOTB LP with lyrics printed on the sleeve that held the album. I bought it at K-mart for $7.00 and I had the Capital Records album that didn’t have the lyric sheet too. Neither album had Total Eclipse added.

Nice Maiden 3 album set. I'm gonna pick up that Sodom. That Iron Allies gets better with each listen. Love Iron Savior have all their stuff on cd and vinyl. Both of those Riot City albums are great. Their new one is really fantastic. Great update.

Box set from Motley Crue, not for me, I have all the single releases, same for Dokken, though a 2 LP version of Back For The Attack would be nice to have, the OG is a 63 minute single LP. Now if they do a Ratt box, I would get that, I am missing a few there.

Sick update man . Been seeing that new rio city album all over the place , heard nothing but good things about it too . Definitely thinking about picking it up one of these days . Always cool supporting these newer metal bands too . I’ve seen that Sodom record too a few times , love how the cover pays homage to those legendary albums . Cheers

My disapointment of the year: NOTB/Hammersmith Vinyl from Maiden: it's 80 euros,here in Germany!!! Pretty lame,
consider that the last 3-4 triple vinyl records from Maiden all were between 40-45 euros....

I always thought Riot City was an old band because of the cover of Burn The Night. Nice score with the Sodom records and the Iron Maiden boxset is certainly good to own. I saw 3 og Maiden albums all around £12 each yesterday, one was in very good condition and the other two were in good condition but this was from a big ebay/amazon seller and they don't provide pictures. Plus I've never bought vinyl from them. Looking back I wish I'd bought SSoaSS as that was labelled very good. I would have probably given it away though and I would have spent cash I can't afford so probably for the best I didn't 😆🤘🏻

That looks like a great release from Sodom, and looks packed with fantastic material. Riot city vinyl sells out pretty fast, I was too slow on both, but got the CD at least! Great update mate!

Sweet pickups, the Iron Maiden is a tad expensive but I may end up with it soon, gotta check out that Reece/ Frank band for sure, as for the Dokken box I only need the live one so I am not gonna be getting that, and as for Motley reissue something other than 5 f’n albums, same stuff over and over lol, crucial Crüe should include Decade 81-91 vinyl, enjoy the week buddy

Seriously considering the Maiden release, solely to get Hammersmith on vinyl. Not excited about the Gangland drop, but it’s not like my original copies of NotB have disappeared, so all is well. As for Noise box sets, you want Running Wild, I want a Coroner box. Also, Riot City’s new one is excellent. Oddly enough, I talk about it in tomorrow’s video on my channel. And, yeah, No Remorse is a fantastic label. Always a good buying experience from them. Hope all is well up north.

Great update! Lucky to have those four Dokken albums on original pressings. I think ”Beast over hammersmith” is one of Maidens best live albums! Finally it’s officially released on vinyl. Nice to have it on the anniversary album. But I do think they could have included ”Gangland” AND ”Total Eclipse” on ”The number of the beast”, there is room for that on the vinyl. Take care Darcy!🤘
Great to be back at Planet6Strings! Been catching the videos, you've been on a great run! I definitely want the Dokken set, I have all the OG vinyl but really would like the 180 gram pressings of these. Hope they did a vinyl remaster. On Crue, don't need that one as I got all the remastered vinyl reissues from before the batch that recently came out and those were quite fine. The Maiden reissue I definitely need, just for Total Eclipse. Read that Steve Harris preferred it to Gangland and that it was simply a matter of getting a single out that resulted in Total Eclipse being used as a B side and Gangland making the album. I have said for decades that Total Eclipse should have been on the album, haha, so hooray for vindication. Although, why not include both like on the earlier remastered CD? Also, the 40th Anniversary edition of Kiss' Creatures of the Night was superb. Great 1/2 speed remastering on the vinyl and the deluxe has some killer bonus stuff. Highly recommend it! Keep up the great work and hope you and your family have a fantastic holiday season! May yours be full of vinyl and beer! 🤣🤣🤣

BMG certanly did make a F##kup with the Dokken boxset. I would consider picking it up if it had the live album. I may pickup the Sodom as the only 1 I have from them is Agent Orange. Great update mate😀🤘

You´re a lucky guy to have found these two Sodom LPs! I haven´t seen them in quite a while even here in Germany. They´ve gotten pretty expensive here as well. When the M-16" boxset came out, I sold my reissue from 2017 and got almost 80 Euro for it on eBay. The new "Best of" is awesome, they recorded in the practice room and their new drummer mixed it. Great, very natural sound!
The new Riot City is very cool as well although I´m not too much a fan of the NWOTHM bands in general.
When I saw those you were the first guy that I thought of , I thought goddamn Jürgen is going be proud of me haha ! Yeah that Sodom 40 Years is a must have in my opinion . Riot City … It’s Just Metal for f#%k sakes 😂🤘

Nice "new" Maiden anniversary edition, don't know if i will get it thou..... have the live record from Eddie's Archive boxset and "total Eclipse" from the Castle Records reissues. Cool Sodom stuff, i also need to get theit stuff in my collection. Riot city is a great band and from Calgary as well, they started out as a priest tribute band hence the mechanical bird I have the 2nd album on order can’t wait for it to arrive!

I can tell you right now that Riot Citys new album is going as a very good contender for my nr 1 this year! Hopefully the vinyl will arrive soon but I have listen to that a ton! Their first was awesome but this is even above that.

Here in the UK, the Maiden Album is 65 pounds the MP3 downloads are 20 pounds . No brainer really . Packaging etc is very nice but it's the music that counts.

Amazing pickups on those two Sodom albums and that’s a great price. I’m hoping the pre- Agent Orange albums get reissues, they go for at least $200 each these days. Funny story here in the US on that new 3LP maiden set. Walmart USA was having an early Black Friday sale where all in-store vinyl was $15 each. This Maiden package came out in the middle of the sale and Walmart had to honor the $15 price. A few of my friends were able to get it for that price. Sadly, I had to pay full price. The 3 LP Maiden sets look great but they aren't great to live with. I love Senjutsu I play it at least once a month. I think I've played the actual record twice. Just too much of a ball ache to me when I have the MP3s on my phone. Did Killers get any 40th anniversary treatment? I can't remember.
Killers 40th only got the picture disc treatment , wonder what’s in store for Piece Of Mind in ‘23 ! I know what you mean about the 3 lp set … but it’s a fun pain in my ass 😉

Great update Darcy! I saw some people picking up the new Maiden at Walmart for $15 bucks in the US, looking forward for my copy to arrive. I'm hoping Gamma Ray does some reissues of their older albums I did however find a copy of Empire of the Undead for $20 bucks new on Ebay.
