- Picked up this 2001 yamaha gp1200r for cheap, tore it apart and it ended up needing a full rebuild. Ordered all the parts and got it done! ENJOY!

How long does it take for the oil to go from the oil pump out to the carbs? Just rebuilt my carbs and figured I’d run 2-3 gallons of premix to give the carb oil lines time to prime.
It takes a min so running atleast 1 tank of premix is not a bad idea
On the top of your oil tank you have a fill hose, oil level sensor, oil line that has a t fitting about an inch up (not worried about that part) and above that is about 2 foot long oil line with a one way check valve..... where does that hook up at?
I also have a Yamaha GP1200R, but unfortunately, I have a problem with the engine. In the water, I don't have any power anymore. Do you know what could it be?
Just bought one and I need a cover do you know were I can get one that fits

I’m new on the Jetski area I have a guy selling me on with a rebuild engine.. how does that works like in the cars?? Rebuilt equals almost new?? Lol
Just depends on what you do... basically the only thing I didn't replace on this build is the crank cases so yeah basically new

yo bro good videos I have a 1200 xlt yamaha that starts great but will not run full seed. did a compression test and it is a 100 psi on all 3 cylinders i am getting spark on all 3 spark plugs it look like I am getting good gas. Now it will start on the first plug alone and it will also start on the second plug alone but will not start on the third plug alone can u help me... thank ........
Have you gone thru the carbs?

@@rajeevramgoolie7852 Ive had jet ski's do that and turns out it was bad crank seal.
You just dropped that flywheel. Those are magnets inside of that. When it gets dropped it disrupts the magnetic properties and will not work as well and will certainly fail much sooner.

Is it supposed to have water coming out of the spit tube on the side
At idle not alot of water will piss out plus It wasn't in the water all the way.. but once it was all the way off the trailer it had a good stream on both sides

What is this noise when it was outside water ? Sound like impeler grinding on the wear ring.
Just the exhaust sound and maybe some camera sound distortion.. sounded normal in person and I've had it out 3 or 4 times now.. running mint!

Really appreciate it! I did not use a service manual and the cover came with the ski so I'm not sure where it came from
You forgot to replace the lever links and without new lever links Yamahas design will fail the pin will slide out of the rave valve dropping the pin and the Rave valves into the piston good luck
I added the new design metal lever links shortly after this
Currently doing a rebuild myself. Decided to replace the crank due to bearing noise and just ordered one from SBT. Not crazy about their reputation, but the price was attractive. How has yours been holding up?
I've used 3 sbt crankshafts now and 1 full top end kit with new sleeved cylinders and I have had no issues!
@@LotLizardDiesel Thats comforting to hear. Another thing, why did you put the gasket maker on then wait to torque the bolts? Is the reccomended?
No that is not recommended. The correct way is to put the gasket maker on, set your case on and run all bolts in finger tight. Wait 30-35 mins and then torque down.

I paid 800 for the Ski and the trailer. After the full gasket set, piston kit, new crankshaft and new cases I was in right at 2,100 bucks. Ended up selling it for 3,000 but I most likely could have got more!

If a guy can rebuild a zero turn lawnmower transaxle, can he rebuild one of these engines?
I've never rebuilt a zero turn lawn mower trans axle 😂 but I can say they these engines are not that bad to rebuild

They are worth a pretty penny when cleaned up and running good! 500 is a good deal, ended up selling mine for 3k
