The difference between Voice of the Broken as comfoting figure compared to the older version which only weeped. He was the only one not afraid of the mirror. Also the voice of the stubborn slowly disappearing. I almost made me cry.
He didn't weep that much before, only if you get to Fury via slaying Tower. And he still does that if you do it that way; he even fades away before the others do. Plus, he didn't even weep during pre-prestine Adver-Fury, he just did his usual "What's the point?" schtick. Plus he has his moments in Apotheosis, he's also great in Cage and, even in the base game, he was also really good in Wild. And he was broken beyond his normal level of Broken in Moment of Clarity. Also he's not the only voice to not be afraid of the mirror (Fury is the only moment this happens anyway), barring Moment of Clarity - Cold also accepts it; even when the other voices don't, he tells us to ignore them and that we have to look.
@reubensalter8125 1. You make very good points here, i could have worded myself better 2. I never actually played the game, im going off of my memory of playthroughs lol
"The body of a sapient creature has, on average, thirty trillion cells." Considering tLQ spans a cosmic scale, I wonder how long it'd take the fury, if given the chance, to deconstruct his entire form.
I didn't like the Fury's scenario before, but now - with the fact that you can endure everything she throws at you and break through to her - it honestly feels more like the "love story" bit. The Fury and the Broken both suffered tremendously, but being able to overcome and forgive what she put you through feels like pulling a jumper away from the ledge.
Great video! I also advise you to retrace the route where you fight the Adversary with your fists and refuse to die. As for me, this path turned out to be also worthy and really funny. The Stubborn and Contrarian are a really great team!
indeed. there is sitll beuty to her, even as grotesque as her appearance also is. bitch delgoved her own arm at the beginning. the grotesquery here though is turned to pity, and her oozing gorey body takse on a new meaning. she is hurt and wanted to hurt, but the hurting didn't stop her pain.
Not romancing, understanding. They understood eachothers pain, finally. But the princess realized it was all pointless, because all the torment, all the unending agony she put you through, never made her feel whole again. Only when you remember the pain, but allow it to help you empathize with her, do you finally end the tale. This was extremely gruesome, I don't have that much else to say.
I wouldn't necessarily call that a good ending. She never actually wanted to leave, and forcing that onto her just doesn't feel right, tonally. It works much better if you go down the pacifist route which gives you another voice. If anything I think that outcome but Tower-Fury is better - there's more of a sense of mutual understanding. And it's a unique vessel, sort of like an inverse from that one route in Razor. Plus fighting her whichever way is awesome too, especially if you come from fighting Adversary unarmed. But in the end that's just my perspective
@@reubensalter8125 I don't know about that. 42:53 She seems like she does not want to be alone as well and even feels guilty after everything just to go with you.
@@carlosignacio6735 Of course she didn't want to be alone. She didn't want that as the Adversary either only then she wanted us to fight each other forever. Plus we got ourselves beaten up out of cowardice, not pacifism. Better we give her what she wants instead of another option. Maybe that's just my inner stubborn talking. Plus the extra voice you get from pacifism is so metal
My favorite ending of the Fury is us just deciding that being unwound out of existence isn't going to stop us, and we get the kill even after we no longer have a body to stab with.
Something underrated about this route is when the voices of the Hero and Stubborn disappear. The Hero, needing an identity to exist and live by, simply gives up as soon as he's reassured he's allowed to. The Stubborn however suffers through it for as long as he can possibly bear, until he's utterly defeated. Even the most stubborn, overwhelmed by complete and total annihilation.
@@QuickquestionSuxballs So? At least it actually progressed this time. Plus there are other ways it can go, like it stops at one point before it goes any further, or Stubborn and Contrarian give us one of the most powerful moments in the game.

Dude, she's tired herself out. The best thing you can do in this situation is leave her. And it's not really fair is it? Plus there are much more interesting ways to fight her. Do you really want to sacrifice glory for a cheap win? Or do you want to go out in the most powerful way possible?
@@reubensalter8125 Well, the first reason is: it is a given order, and at this point, might as well follow it. The Fury is not keen the slightest on reconcile or making friends, so of course my intention would be to finish her once and for all. Secondly, after what she did to us, the least we can do is return the "favor" and mince her. And third, well, when playin' a game, my preferred method is to kill everyone in sight. No prisoners, no survivors. And Slay the Princess is no exception. This is how I got to The Fury the first place 😊So I would do it just for fun.

@@reubensalter8125 Yeah, Chapter II for me was always The Tower, since I'd never abandon the fight with The Adversary. I wouldn't call The Fury helpless though...I mean, she disemboweled The Player solely with her will. This is indeed very threatening, even if The Player would have a grenade launcher or a flamethrower. And The Fury was always on the offensive from the start - she only wants to reconcile and make friends once she gets tired from tearing and twisting The Player apart (so it's something like making a virtue out of necessity). Also, since I'm a militarist - a militarist with a heart, but still a militarist nevertheless - I would trust my weapon far more than a vengeful Princess abomination. @@shannaracanto3672 I meant for Happily Ever After. Princess and the Dragon the change is in the princess, either you attack her first and she's cold to you, or you don't and she's friendly.
@Betrix5060 Oh sorry I got confuse 😅
I kinda wish there's a different voice other than the opportunist in the princess and the dragon route.
The small quick save.
We all know how that feels.
This was so much better than the original route.
But it's exactly the same as the original, up until where it left off at least. Plus there's seven times more content now and you can still fight her, all of them in ways you'd never think possible. They really cooked with this one 😁
best part about it is...
39:18 *W I D E FURY* XXDDD
I loved this route with Broken in it, it was so beautiful- I shed many a tear, the voice acting was so full of emotion and beautiful.
"ARE YOU STILL IN THERE?!"
"ARE YOU STILL YOU?!"
"YES!"
"ARE YOU STILL YOU"?!?!
@@Better-Name-Pending "I'm still here. I'm still me."
@reubensalter8125 "WHAT ABOUT NOW?"
Broken got better after Pristine i see
@@Deflamed_Sphere Not entirely.....
If you get to Fury via Tower he's still the same. Only once the peeling starts he becomes even more broken to the point where he can no longer endure the pain.
And in Apotheosis he's still worshipping her. It's just he's doing it even more this time.
But in the original he was still really good in Wild, he even said we should remain together. And here he's also really good in the Cage, which is Prisoner chapter 3.
@@reubensalter8125 In the pristine cut you can actually get the broken to raise up against the princess at apotheosis lol they really gave him a glow up
@@xadadax1 He's still rising to her level, and he's not doing it out of anger, he's doing out if hurt. He doesn't want to kill her, instead he wants to do something so much better that rivals us rising to her level.

I love how Contrarian convinces Stubborn to thow the blade out the window. Its amazing XD
Nice playthrough, thanks for recording this.
ok I KNOW I'm ace but DAMN
The Fury is BEAUTIFUL
aesthetic attraction ftw
I’ve always thought she was so horrifyingly beautiful.
indeed. there is sitll beuty to her, even as grotesque as her appearance also is. bitch delgoved her own arm at the beginning.
the grotesquery here though is turned to pity, and her oozing gorey body takse on a new meaning. she is hurt and wanted to hurt, but the hurting didn't stop her pain.
Same here- i am so attracted to many of the Princesses (Tower :] ) but i am also very asexual
Ah yes, a flayed open chest cavity with the skinny pinned open with nails. Beautiful.
This route raised my opinion of the Broken straight into the top 3. The "I'm still here" is unreasonably hype
Finally someone posted about The Fury
They made Fury the best chapter with the update tbh
The hero gaves up early then we get to witness how stubborn breaks.
Broken also gives up early if you got here via Tower.
You'll never guess what Contrarian does 😂
It went from slay to romancing.
Yeah... You can still do that with base Adversary
One could say Slay to Lay.
I sticked to slay all along. Orders are orders! 🪖
Reminder of the text that appears at the beginning of the game:
*“This is a love story.”*

THE WRIST GAMEEEEEEEeeeeeeee...
Nahhhhh she turned into Viktor Strobovski with the loss of the echo effect on her new voice-lines

Quick tip: You can fix that issue where you can't interact with choice options by middle clicking.
Wow so you do achieve a good ending with the fury but only with the adversary
@@reubensalter8125 oh yeah sorry, I got her through the pacifism route. (I am also processing to what happened to smitten in Damsel 3)
@@carlosignacio6735 Forget Smitten, look at the Narrator.
He's finally seen things in a way he never could. Easily one of the best routes
Yeah - Contrarian
He left before it could even begin. 😂
this route is fucking deranged wtf
How?
@@reubensalter8125 it has torture and goresome moments
@@QuickquestionSuxballs So? At least it actually progressed this time. Plus there are other ways it can go, like it stops at one point before it goes any further, or Stubborn and Contrarian give us one of the most powerful moments in the game.
@@reubensalter8125 btw there’s actually different ending for tower > fury where stubborn actually came in clutch similarly to broken and cold if we decide to try to fight back still
@@QuickquestionSuxballs Yeah I know. But that's different.
Broken doesn't just give up, he dies inside that part of our body. And we do end up with Cold anyway. It's an interesting subversion of the norm, and I love it.
41:10 When we all see a woman, who also enjoys Slay the Princess gameplay and story.
Or a man.
Also nah, that would be Cold's response "She's been just like me this whole time. She's just been hiding it."
Wait, the fury is after the tower but this is a interesting change
you can get her via both!
You've always been able to get her via both. And you can get to her a number of different ways from Adversary.
I quess i got other version of fury because i was too "Stubborn" so i defeated her after i become nothing 🤔
That's because you got Apostheosis first.

Are you still there?
Are you still you?
Do I really need to answer?
YES!
No...
I prefer the Adversary > Fury route where you keep trying to fight even though you have no chance of winning. It is interesting to see the Adversary actually want to stop fighting and give you a mercy kill.
All. All of them are great.
Edit: Especially "Okay team, what are we thinking?"
You know it’s fucked up when the most aggressive princess wants to stop fighting already
“Bodies are not supposed to look like that…”
@@xadadax1 Yeah but it's also not surprising. She also cries when we give an impassioned speech about love and she gets upset when we don't give her a fight.
This route is horrifying but the art of her face when you're being stretched is kinda goofy
for real
17:15 thats what she said 😢
45:07 I hate it when it takes her from us
Except it makes sense here. And it makes.semse in Happily Ever After and many others
@ it makes them stop being them
@@SirusCreed It doesn't, because they are still them. They've always been them. Just as she has always been her. But they also and have always been each other. And that's made very clear at the end.
@ they didn’t want to be cold
@SirusCreed Spectre did - she was fine with it. Fury was fine with it. Happily Ever After was also ready to go regardless of the choices you made. Stranger knew she had to be taken. Wraith is a funny one as she was just taken. Tower was also just taken. The Greys didn't say anything about it. I could go on
I'm sad this wasn't the contrarian version of the route to be honest.
Or Tower-Fury. They're both mostly the same but with a unique outcome.
Ghost Rider vs
This is wild, I got the Tower and then the Fury, but I saw what the landscape looked like in chapter 3 and I noped out of there, thats when I saw the shifting mound for the first time and asked if it was a dream. I'm trying to do that route again cause I didn't save but man idk how I did it
I would have slain The Fury, not letting her out
Dude, she's tired herself out.
@@TheLambdaTeamYeah, didn't you tell me before you got to it via Tower? There's a much better way to achieve what you're hoping to achieve from that one without needlessly slaying someone so helpless and vulnerable. And the best part? You don't need grenades or flamethrowers. You don't even need a pristine blade.
Also you clearly haven't seen this whole playthrough. She does want to make friends. She does want to reconcile. She just doesn't know how. But we can show her.
In her case, low-caliber guns wouldn't work, so I'd probably use a Sabrine MK4 or a missile launcher.
@@TheLambdaTeam It is definitely not a virtue of necessity. In the Adversary one, she's clearly upset and doesn't know what do with herself so she accepts our olive branch.
Anyway, to defeat this version of Fury, you don't need a Sabrina MK4 or a missile launcher. The only thing you need is _you._
The Princess: If you want to talk I guess I can talk, but you should come a little closer first.
The Long Quiet: I don't know what happened to you since the last time we met, but I am not fighting a giant demon-lady. Bye! *Turn around and leave*

The Princess: Oh, you've got another thing coming if you think you can just turn around and leave. *Pulling her arm with chains*
The Narrator: As you step towards the stairs, you hear the heavy creak of straining metal.
The Princess: *chains snap*
The Narrator: And then a snap. She's loose. You have to make a decision, and you have to make it fast.
The Long Quiet: *run like hell*
The Narrator: You do your best to scramble up the stairs before the Princess can reach you. You can practically feel her steamy breath on the back of her neck, but you manage, just barely, to throw yourself over the threshold and slam the heavy stone doors behind you.
The Long Quiet: *closing the door*
The Narrator: You're safe. If only for a moment.
Aruru Otsuki: Of course he's safe. He can just stay peace and quiet and nothings gonna happen now.
Voice of the Stubborn: The blade. Take the blade from the alter.
The Long Quiet: You're fine just the way you are, thank you.
Misora Kano: Are you sure about that?
The Princess: Do you think this door is enough to hold me? You're not getting out of this. I don't care how many things I have to break. I'm getting the fight I want. *Punches the door*
The Narrator: The entire cabin shakes as the Princess throws herself against the basement door.
Voice of the Hero: It's huge and made of stone. We're fine... right?
Voice of the Stubborn: If we had a weapon we'd be fine.
The Narrator: Yes, you should probably pick up the blade, shouldn't you?
Voice of the Hero: I know I'd feel a lot safer with it.
The Princess: *punches the door*
The Narrator: But before you can act, another impact shakes the cabin, a massive gash splitting it's way up the stone doors.
The Princess: *punches the door*
Voice of the Stubborn: Here she comes.
The Princess: *breaks the door*
The Narrator: The doors explode outwards, shards of stone clattering against the walls as the Princess emerges from the basement.
The Princess: After everything we've been through, I can't believe this is going to end with you cowering in a corner. You're pathetic.
20:42
Voice of the Hero: We're doomed.
The Princess: *Dash towards him*
The Narrator: In a fit of violence, the Princess explodes across the room and close the gap between you.
The Princess: *tries to hurt him*
The Narrator: She is merciless. With every blow comes a bloom of fresh pain, igniting nerves you didn't know you even had, your skin bruising and spitting and bleeding as her fists rain down relentlessly. But thankfully, you won't have to bare this agony for much longer. Your body has it's limits, and she has found them.
