Loved your improvements. Miss some of your Tamiya projects. Still want to see what you have in mind for the lunchbox. Maybe a winter version with skis.
Spectacular...this has to be the benchmark for future builds/tests. I loved the way the dew on the grass sprayed a mist off the wheels in the early speed shot, this is epic. I shall be replaying this again many times...Keep em coming...Southdowns would be a good track test too, in my youth I biked this many times.
i only found your channel a few days ago and since then i cant stop watching, ive never had an rc but now at the age of 58 i want nothing more, but gutted that this particular truck is no longer available 😞
Glad you found the Channel Julian. My Step Dad is in his 70's and I still by him RC's, so you still have many years left! Check out some of my newer stuff, it's more likely to be about :)
I've commented before but I gotta say again, great vid and incredible setup on the rig. Watch this video at least once a month for inspiration. Thanks bloke.
Mate I love the guts out of that thing! Im inspired now, im gonna get the tr hubs for my unfinished konghead and go the custom cab, ala mad max. More of the same please! More videos! You have a build video on this beast?
Looks good mate! The stock look has grown on me but I still think the stock wheels were a bad choice, not realistic enough but not far enough at the monster end of the scale either. They aren't one thing or the other! You've really made this one your own, I like it!
Did you have to adjust the toe angles of the front and back wheels to make it go straight? I just put together the Dynayhead and put in 4w steering. I goes mostly straight but likes to go off to the right. I've been playing around with adjusting the wheels and all that but still haven't got it figures out yet. But I just got it finished a few days ago. Love it so far. Really a cool and fascinating RC vehicle.
Great video you have helped me decide what I’m going to do with mine when it gets here , I bought one of these trucks just because I had seen one of the other videos all about the truck , I plan on changing wheels a tyres over to something with a lot more attitude and I might change the body To something along the lines of a land rover 6*6 , so that will be me quite busy for a wile , I’m building an Fg Marder beetle just now so the Dynahead build will have to sit in the box for a little wile .
What an excellent build ! Wish I had the knowledge of how to do one. The dyna is out of my price range, but, the king yellow etc is just in. Hoping to put a better speed controller on for a little better crawling, then build my own body for it.
@@TomleyRC I must have missed it the first time ur using the GT5 controller, I got it when it first came out n did a review on it when I first started my channel, its a good remote
Love the look, much more rugged. Thank you for the ideas. I understand this was filmed 2 years ago but if possible can you show the under the body look?
@@TomleyRC we are in Pembrokeshire , took us over 5 hours to drive up to Birmingham last week ! Seriously this is the best looking truck I have seen , I love the soviet stuff ,I think it would be nice to build a 6X6 armored personnel carrier on this chassis ?
That is a sweet build..looks amaazing and different, glad you got to run it,live that feeling of 1st run on a new build and everything is kinda dialed from the get...very rewarding!very good job:)
Love what you have done with the Dynahead, Phil. I must agree with you, this is more like it should have been, the military theme and the new wheels and tyres suit it down to the ground. Nice trailing in the mud and ice, and very capable as you showed. Was that a rear tyre coming off the rim right at the end on the ice? Great stuff mate - big thumbs up! :))
Cheers Mark, was a really fun trail... I actually didn't notice the tyre until I was editing lol....I'll need to put a bit of glue on them for the next run.
Great video and awsome truck! Hey do you have a part number of the program cart of that esc? I have the same combo new in a box. Is it any good? Thanks for sharing.

First time I saw this was right after the 7th time I’d seen Aliens and saw the laser tag set sold for RC tanks. It was a good day. First thing I thought of was I should make something like a chibi Centauro somehow. Or at least a “better” aliens APC. As if I knew how or something. But I’m surprised nobody else online has thought of it. So how durable is it with all the mods now? I’d have no intention of going faster than most of your run. Idk if that changes anything tho
Is iit the best Tamiya? I'm not even sure it is still a Tamiya. Nice mods so far and a good run _Fit a tie down on the arm for the tow hook. You'll have someone's eye out lol_
Great job Phil! I have had my eye on this thing since it came out and have wanted to do something similar. I will say I was expecting to see you on the rocks with this thing. That hill with the stairs was a perfect uphill climb for it (you could hear the motor under a load) slick with wet grass and all. Will you be making it into a 6WS?
Great vid but be careful with that brushless setup I have the same one in my traxxas stampede and with a 3s lipo the esc blew out, upon research this is because the motor can actually draw more amps than the esc can provide, you might me ok with this truck because I was pushing mine hard in my stampede when it happened, but with your low gearing you might be ok, 2s should be fine but 3s maybe not, just mt experience.
Hi, I'm waiting for my G6-01TR "like new". I will change the tyres, can I do or I need to change de complet wheels? The wheels you recommend fits great without any adapter? Thanks

I still can't get over my love of the lunch box. It was the first rc I fell in love with and I've still never owned one 😞
I will get one one day
My first monster truck was a Lunchbox....still one of my favourites :)
Tomley RC Garage I was just obsessed because I never knew rc's could wheelie before and thought it was awesome
If Tamiya had released it in this form, I probably would have bought on. Great work.

best Dynahead I've ever seen. So much better than stock. Awesome modifications 👍
Thanks Carl
Beautiful Job!!! A lot more people like myself are going to want to buy one after this Video!!!

Thank you. I have a few more bits to finish it off, and then I think I'll go find some mud!
Wow made that look easy! Looks like 6x6 is the way to go!

It took a bit of adjustment to get it straight, but I think with 4ws, its hard to get it perfect.
Very nice 4ws system big thumbs up my friend XD
Makes a big difference to the control of it...and turning is so much easier

haha...a tie down is something I need to add...
so no problems with a non sensor brushless? maybe the portal gears help that. What did you use for servos? are they strong enough?
No issues with the motors....apart from they don't like muddy water lol I used 2 x Hobbyking water proof servos (12kg I think)....

Hello again. Which battery charger is best for most types of connectors as I’m having trouble charging with a unit I’ve recently bought? Thank you.
I've got a cheap one that plugs on to a car battery. I need to upgrade really as it's a bit temperamental. Plenty out there though.
Does this have lockers in it?
Or did you modify the diffs?
I locked the diffs with epoxy
