Laufey really jumped out at me when I first saw her. So much talent. She had "it". That was almost 3 years ago. I had been looking for someone who was a can't miss, and well, there she is. Watching her Lullabies with Laufey, which I didn't discover until after they were done, well, she was in control, willing to try anything - take requests, try something on a new instrument, pull out a fake book, answer questions, whatever. Nothing fazed her, not even the idiots harassing her. And she writes these incredible songs. She calls it modern jazz, and some people call her pop. Back in the '40s, pop was called jazz. I just call her Laufey. She is her own person. And then she starts to sing -- ooohhh wow. Girl.
