Tell me, how nicely does it play acoustically? I had my eye on a Hofner Ignition Club as my first bass 'til I came upon this beauty. I'm reasoning a semi-acoustic bass would be a great first bass with a minor obstacle to practicing removed; I can just snatch it up and play whenever I get the urge or play with friends acoustically with some volume without having to plug it in - I'd love to see/hear a recording of it played unplugged.
Hi… In all honesty, it’s acoustic sound (in terms of volume, that is) is not its best… Good enough for practice, for sure, but I sincerely doubt you could play it unplugged with friends… However, the same goes for all semi-hollows and, more likely than not, even for most acoustic basses… Just my thoughts… Cheers…

@@bassporn change of plan. I came up on an offer for a new Ibanez GSRM20B Walnut short scale bass I couldn't refuse. Probably a little more versatile and more accessible for an absolute beginner like me. Might put some flatwounds on it for that warm upright bass sound. And then maybe if this bass playing thing sticks with me, that HB-60 might become a very nice second axe... :)

I've seen the bass on other videos and people were complaining about the color changing from red on the online photos to Brown in real life. Your's is a beautiful red, why? How? hahahah
I think it used to be available in orange, then Harley Benton changed to this color (which looks purple to me): I think that may be the source of the "complaint"... Cheers...
