Wonderful to see the complete 37 form performed so exquisitely.
I learned this form originally by a disciple of Dr. Chi Chiang Tao, whose name is John Kells, in London 1989. The form I was taught then was Dr. Chi's 47 step version of the CMC 37 form.
The story goes that when Huang Sheng Shyan approached Master Cheng Man-Ch'ing to find out about his Taijiquan, Dr. Chi was given the task to be tested by Huang Sheng Shyan. Despite his expertise in White Crane, he could do nothing to unbalance Dr. Chi, who was a master of yielding. This convinced him to learn from Master Cheng Man-Ch'ing. This story is related in the biography of Master T.T. Liang called Steal My Art.
Later, he would develop his own version and found his own school of Taijiquan, as did many of Master Cheng Man-Ch'ing's most accomplished students.

It is different from what Professor Cheng Man Cheng has taught to so many. By the way, Huang Sheng Shyan happened to be Professor Cheng Mang Ching's student....so was I told. So, the question that naturally comes to my mind is 'which one is professor Cheng's form? If somebody could throw some light on it. Thank you

On the internal path, merging internal and external will result in a manifestation of what is being learnt that is unique to the individual. So learning and internally processing CMC's form can result in variations because of differing internalisation. Imho

I was informed that if it follows The Classics then it is authentic, differences throughout the generational progress and development is probably individual.

This is not Professor Cheng's form. Same movements but not the same quality!
