Never knew uncle Richard was on the piano lol...all these years! One of my faves from the music/arts.... Then Whitney made it memorable again! Godblessgospelmusic.......
This song embodies the gifts and talents of one Edwin Hawkins. His gift from God was one of class, musical intellect, and dedication to choral music. We praise God for His gifts. R.I.P. Mr. Hawkins. Your musical contributions to this world will be remembered forever! Thank you!
So this is where West Angeles got this from! West A sings this for our prayer chant after the morning prayer. Awesome! Simply beautiful! Thank you Edwin. The Hawkins family is awesome! My prayers are with you and your family to give you strength as we all mourn the great Bishop. Amen. Carson, CA
Top shelf,,When I first started directing,,songs from this album was on the top of my list..Still is..Edwins music is always new and refreshing anytime..Love the Hawkins!
My GOD!!! I looked all day yesterday for this version of the song and I wake up this morning to FINALLY find it. You have made my ... YEAR, haha. Thanks so much for posting this.
Brings back memories when Ms Shirley JOiner taught us this song for Outreach Missionary Baptist Church Choirs Anniversary in 80's when Pastor John l. Hart was pastor.
I remember doing this as part of our Introit before the processional of How I Got Over. Man do I miss the marching in of the altar guild, the choir, and the preachers. I'm glad now that I found a church that still does things the way I grew up with. And now, I'm one of those preachers too! Of course with a heart for music as well.
@@lisahampton7750 Thank you. I thought it was Richard Smallwood. Also known as the MAESTRO! I have always loved this song. After all these years it still Minister's to me. A highly anointed song.
What a beautiful prayer. I agree with others: it's timeless and should always be our prayer.
