For the record, the Chicken Knife was a reference to old FF stuff, specifically a weapon.
It's part of a pair of recurring weapons, with its counterpart the Brave Sword. Both have atypical attack values, getting stronger with either how many fights you won (Brave Sword) or how many fights you flee from (Chicken Knife).

That last boss caused so many wipes day 1 . This dungeon was a blast to run blind

Thieves in FFXI are interesting to play. They CAN be deadly, too. Even though they have weak defenses, their highest stat is evasion so that’s what is their strength. In FFXIV, ROG got some abilities based on THF in XI like hiding and then using Trick Attack. THF in XI would have to get behind an enemy and use an ability called Sneak Attack. Then any attack (even an auto) does A LOT of damage in one hit. It’s best to save up your TP gauge and use a Weapon Skill like Shark Bite (you have to have a knife equipped for that).
THFs were also in dire need because at Lv45, they get a job trait (passive and active all of the time) called Treasure Hunter (and later an improved version of it) where you could get rare item drops from enemies.

not sure if anyone's mentioned this yet, but the music also uses melodies from the overworld area themes- a Norvrandt OST Medley to match the gauntlet! (a bit sad we don't see Rak'tika on here but at least it lives on in the BGM)
Thematically this is my favorite dungeon of All of Shadowbringers. Musically, I gotta give it up for The Twinning or the 5.5 dungeon.
Lol, I too was playing Shadowlands, and my friend kept trying to get me to play ffxiv. In the end, she succeeded in convincing me. I’m so glad.

Gotta say, I looked away for a second and saw he switched jobs from Astrologian to Dark Knight mid-battle and was very confused! I like the idea of editing in both their perspectives

It took guts to stand up to that berserker!
In Berserker's one appearance as a playable class (that I know of), it's gimmick was that it would do basic attacks for huge damage and was the only class that could use axes. However, it was permanently under a status effect that meant the player couldn't control that character so it would just attack random targets forever. As you can imagine, that would be a very boring class to play in an mmo, especially because the "angry two-handed barbarian" class was already taken by FF14's version of Warrior.
Thief is an FF classic, and the boss in this dungeon is dressed like the concept art of one of the protagonists from an older FF game. In most class-based FFs, the thief is made completely obselete when upgraded to / the player unlocks Ninja, so it would at most be used for party utility like stealing, increasing travel speed, or exposing secret passages.
Necromancer.. let's be honest, most players probably just want them in the game because of her... "outfit." Pet AI has always been pretty jank in FF14 (something something Garuda pulled again) and they've been trying to steer away from pet classes over time. My wild guess is it takes server / engine resources that could be better spent on encounter design and setpieces.
I think the bosses in this dungeon are all jobs that have been highly requested but we will never see.
They're variants on jobs we do have. Thief = rogue, then ninja. Necromancer is just another form of arcanist (and necromancy is also explicitly forbidden by all schools of magic in all of Eorzea.) And the berserker is what a marauder is when it goes full warrior but loses control of the Inner Beast.

I wish we could get Henry Caville to play the MSQ. And then get our MSQurator for him. I wonder how much money we'd need to fundraise for that.
I find it incredibly hard to try and keep track of what part of the game you're up to... across three channels I have no idea, the amount of channels isn't the problem it's just there's content here, there and everywhere which doesn't seem to follow any pattern, you did something a month ago... lets upload that as new content on channel x while showing more recent content on another channel.
Please just upload your full streams and put them in a playlist in order, for someone who likes your content but doesn't have time to figure out where you're at or what I've seen before it's completely putting me off watching any of your content at all as I start only to realise it's something I've seen before. Your full stream channel should have EVERYTHING, I shouldn't have to jump between that and your main channel for different content. I can't watch your streams live as it's usually after midnight when they start for me.
There is a livestream playlist in the main channel! It's just somewhat out of the way
