SBM tanker mooring operation

- In this video, I take a 180 mtr tanker from the anchorage, to an SBM (single buoy) 6 miles away. At the final approach I head to the bow and finish the maneuver from there. Taken with pivothead sunglasses and a gopro hero 2.

As mooring master of spm in Iraq to much different because aft tug we moored before mooring operation and hoser long is 50 meters and we have tow hoser

I have a question to ask. In CBM berthing, do you have to drop ship anchor after you already in berthing position? I mean before you connect and fasten the mooring hawser. Thanks before
No! As it's anchor can come in contact with sub sea pipelines and it will be catastrophic. Other reason, SPM it self provides mooring point for incoming tanker as well as it facilitates 360 degree rotation for tanker wrt wind and wave direction.

Tugs may control a vessel to his going engine .to control a vessel..an anchor may used for bearthing scenario which a vessel or pilot mistakes to slow down a engine..that it may be used

The flag on the tugboat indicates Colombia. I doubt small vessels like tugs would operate out of foreign ports, so I'm putting my money on Colombia, but this is the internet so I'm likely to be told I'm wrong.
